The Speaker

  Welcome to the Tutorial sentient number 18,965,772, and welcome to the multiverse.

  Mason shot up from the ground, his heart still pounding. he reached down and started patting all over his body to make sure all of him was still there. "Holy shit I'm still alive and this is all real." Before he could take anymore time to take everything in, a monotone voice responded. Yes, you are alive. Please feel free to take a seat when you are ready. Time doesn't move while you are here. Remembering that he was not alone Mason turned towards the odd voice. It sounded like hundreds of different voices all mixed together. Some loud some quiet, some high some low, some gravelly and others smooth, it was entirely incomprehensible. Somehow despite all this, the voice was not unpleasant to listen to, or hard to understand. It felt like the entity was not only speaking out loud but inside of his mind as well. However, its voice was not the weirdest thing about this creature. It was an entirely white void in the shape of a human. It had no defining features other than a faint outline around it and wore no clothing of any kind.

  Mason stood there for a few seconds staring at the entity, taking everything in and it stared back at him. Or, at least he thought it was staring at him, it was hard to tell with no eyes to look at. "Who are you?" Mason asks warily.

  Ah, yes of course. Please forgive me. My designation is GC-380. Though you may call me the Speaker if you would like. Now please, take a seat. Mason slowly walked over to the chair and sat down across from the Speaker. Now, before I begin the explanation for the systems basic functions do you have any questions sentient number 18,965,772?

  "Yeah, where are we?" Mason asked, looking around the completely blank white room. Now that I'm thinking about it, how can I see him if he is completely white and the room is completely white? "Also you can just call me Mason" He says off-handedly while looking around the white void.

  We are in the White Room Mason.

  Mason rolls his eyes. "Ok, where is the White Room?" he asked questioningly.

  The White Room is the White Room. That is all you need to be aware of for now.

  "Ok, that was super helpful. How did I get here then? And how is it possible that time isn't moving outside this room but we are still able to talk to each other?"

  You were brought here using high level space magic. More commonly known as teleportation magic. The time difference is due to a combination of high level magic and the Dao of time.

  Mason stared blankly at the Speaker for a few seconds before speaking. "Ok, nothing you just said made sense so why don't you just go ahead and start your explanation."

  Your universe has been assimilated into the multiverses underneath the systems purview, it is the 50th universe to have been claimed in this way. You should be happy, you will be able to accomplish many great things your kind was not previously capable of due to the systems power. Let me pull up your planets sheet.

  I see, your planet is E-grade. The tiers are as follows: Unranked, E, D, C, B, A, and S. Anything above that you don't need to know about right now or maybe ever, most people never do. in terms of stats, humans can have a maximum of 10 in any one before accounting for the systems interference of course. I find that it is better for new users to see their sheet for themselves first. If you say status out loud or if you simply think it your status sheet will open.

  Mason just sat there for a few seconds processing everything that was just said before realizing that he should probably try to open his status. Okay, I still feel like I'm dreaming but fuck it, I'm in the deep end at this point. Status.

  Holy shit that is a lot of information. Mason took a few minutes to absorb all the information on his status sheet and came to a few conclusions. Ok, so it seems like Endurance, Vitality, and Intelligence pertain to Stamina, Health, and Mana respectively. Each pool has a base of 100 and each stat point increases the amount by 10. I have pretty high physical stats and mediocre mental stats which knowing my background isn't exactly a surprise. "Alright, everything else seems pretty self explanatory except for Dao and Soul Power. Also what is the difference between titles and achievements?"

  A Dao is a power that allows one to bend a law to their whim. A Dao is completely based upon ones understanding of an outside force. Unlike with spells, Daos do not require any mana to use, however they are very rigid. You cannot change your Dao without changing how you view that force, although small adaptations are possible. because of this many people only ever obtain one Dao in their lifetime, assuming they only ever reach D-grade obviously. Once you get above that having more than one Dao is more common. Daos can also evolve but that isn't something you will need to worry about for now.

  Soul Power on the other hand is based around one's understanding of themselves. It is simply who you are and always will be to some extent. It is possible for your Soul Power to evolve and change, but it is far less common than Daos changing. To summarize, a Dao is an understanding of something like fire or space. While Soul Power is your true self. Because of this some people theorize that some Daos and Soul Powers are incompatible, such as a water Dao with someone whose Soul Power is based around fire, but this has never been confirmed and there are people with what would seem to be conflicting powers.

  "Ok, I'm gonna pretend that anything you just said made sense," Mason said, rubbing his forehead. "So what about titles and achievements?"

  The difference between titles and achievements is quite simple. A title is something that is relatively simple to earn. Something like clearing a dungeon or killing a lot of one monster type may give you a title. However, an achievement is something that is owned by a very small amount of people. Normally less than 5% of people having the achievement is the average. Keep in mind that this average is within grades however. For example, it may be true that out of everyone less than 5% of people have 4 or more Daos, but if the person who has four Daos is in S grade among their peers it's not that special. They may still get a title though.

  "That makes sense, a lot easier to understand than everything else we've talked about so far. Is there anything else or is the explanation just about over?" Mason said wearily. He felt like his head was about to explode from all the new stimuli and information he's had to take in during the past hour or so.

  We are almost done, most sentients enjoy these next parts much more than the previous however. the Speaker said with what seemed like a smirk. How something with no mouth could seem like it was smirking was beyond Mason, he just felt like it was. Right as the Speaker finished his sentence a window popped up in front of Mason. Now you get to pick your class, I wouldn't worry about the selection too much. At the end of the tutorial you will get to change your class if you so desire, just go with your gut.

  Mason looked at the list of classes in front of him. "Alright, let's see what we've got here."

  [Class: Warrior

  Rating: Basic

  Stats Per Level: +2 STR, +2 VIT, +2 END

  Warriors are one of the four basic classes everyone in the system starts with as an option. If you like swinging around big weapons, this is the class for you. This class is perfect for those who want to get onto the frontline and deal some damage. No matter what weapon a Warrior uses, if there is a battle, you can bet they will be there. (Note: Big weapon not included)

  ]

  Hmm, this one seems like it's right up my alley. When I hit someone I want to hit them hard and I want them to see me coming. I may as well look at the other options before choosing though.

  [Class: Rogue

  Rating: Basic

  Stats Per Level: +2 DEX, +1 STR, +1 PER, +1 INT, +1 WIS

  Rogues are one of the four basic classes everyone in the system starts with as an option. This class excels with lots of preparation and patience. A rogue is the one who spends weeks planning before a fight and sets up traps while hiding in the shadows. Some Rogues also dabble in the arcane. However, no matter what kind of Rogue you are, The best Rogue is the one you don't see coming.

  ]

  This is another interesting option. I don't mind some sneaking every now and again, though it's not really my first choice. The preparation part doesn't really sound up my alley either.

  [Class: Mage

  Rating: Basic

  Stats Per Level: +2 INT, +2 WIS, +2 WILL

  Mage is one of the four basic classes everyone in the system starts with as an option. This class excels with those who wish to rain down arcane might from the safety of the backline as well as studying ancient scriptures in their free time. A mage is one of the highest potential damage classes in the system, but watch out. If your mana runs out, you'll be free pickings for most other classes.

  ]

  Yeah, no.

  [Class: Archer

  Rating: Basic

  Stats Per Level: +3 PER, +2 DEX, +1 END

  Archer is one of the four basic classes everyone in the system starts with as an option. What's that in the sky? Oh, it's an arrow. This class is perfect for those who see no reason to dirty their hands with up close combat, but wish to be more agile than a mage. While not dealing as much damage as a mage, Archers will still be firing long after a mage has run out of mana.

  ]

  Not bad, though staying far away form my opponents isn't really my thing. Taking the Speakers advice Mason didn't think too hard about the choice and went with his gut. "Warrior it is" he said clicking on the Warrior class. You chose the Warrior class, is this your final choice? He quickly clicked yes

  [Introduction complete, you will now be transported back onto the new Earth]

  "Well I guess this is it, I hope I see you again Speaker." Mason says, staring at the white void. You as well, Mason Decker. The Speaker responds, monotone as always.

  [Notice! Due to the unusually high velocities that you were experiencing when you were teleported you are not located near any other non-hostile sentients. Be prepared.]

  Wait, what? I'm gonna be alone? Also, what does it mean by there are no "non-hostile" sentients, does that mea-. Before he could finish his thought, Mason felt the same tugging sensation as before.

  Ah, shit.
