The Suit

The Suit trudged through the vastness of space. Its footsteps echoing throughout the empty ship, it’s walking a pale imitation of humans, its helmet revealing a human skull glowing with an eerily light, its hands grabbing air, reaching for something but what? It trudged forward, not paying a glance to the numerous side doors, seemingly determined to go to one place in search of some goal, perhaps… no i shan't say it, it’s a stupid answer anyway. The Suit’s shuffling turned to limping then to proper walking, then a jog, now running. Running from what? Its past? Its problems? Its form? The Suit soon came upon something unlike the grey expanse around it, it soon found a doorway to a large open area filled with consoles, and most importantly, a glass screen. The glass screen showed darkness, not a single star to be seen, just empty, inky darkness. The suit ran to the glass and punched, kicked, threw tables at the glass, yet it would not be broken so easily.

The Suit quickly noticed another large doorway and started to run towards it, yet suddenly it was falling. Falling and falling, dropping through the floor into the ever-stretching emptiness of space. It fell out of the ship and found itself starting to drift away from the ship, the only landmark in sight. It tried to make a swimming-like motion to get back to the ship yet failed, only progressing faster to the centre of this monstrosity. What is it inside? The belly of a fearsome beast? Suddenly it knew, and quickly gave up hope. It was inside a….

  Black Hole.

Stopping to move did nothing but prolong the reanimated suit’s suffering, if it could even feel emotions, soon enough it could no longer see the ship, and was left alone in the vast emptiness of the Black Hole, the only thing to keep it’s company. It was unknown how much time passed yet it soon started to notice its limbs to become longer, its head being stretched, its body being elongated, it was a heart wrenching sensation, Like being burnt alive and drowned, like being pulled by two race cars from each side, like being in the middle of two meeting opposing lakes, it could not scream nor yell. It contained its suffering, unable to let out the emotion. It became longer and longer until it couldn't see its legs or hands. It soon noticed something, it drifted towards its end, the singularity. Space debris drifted to the singularity and was absorbed to some unknown place, it couldn’t stop its demise, only speed it up or slow it down. The Suit tried one last ditch effort to swim away, putting all the effort it could into trying to swim away, but that only increased the speed at which it floated towards the singularity. Soon enough it could see the singularity right against its eerily glowing eyes, it could feel its legs being put through a meat grinder, a shredder, until it could no longer feel its legs but arm and torso getting the same treatment. It watched as its legs, arms, torso soon became lost to time and space, to the belly of this beast, it was just a head now. It could now feel its jaw beginning to be absorbed, its eyes and nose next, and finally the top of its skull. It tried to scream, to yell, anything to be distracted, yet it couldn’t, after all it was just a pale imitation of what used to be, something that is a paradox, something alive and unalive, dead and living, but now about to be gone with no reanimation this time.

It could feel its soul being absorbed, its body now long gone as well as its head, it has been forsaken by death and life, doomed to die twice. Its soul, its very memories and personality were waning, it soon couldn’t remember what it was, what a body was or why it should have one, not even what great beast it was inside of. Soon it turned an inky, black darkness, and it knew no more.
