Sheamus was a nervous wreck.
He paced back and forth in his stable, muttering to himself.
Ever since Stephen had left, he’d been regretting it.
He regretted being so hasty in entrusting such an important task to one person.
He’d experienced firsthand how ruthless the O'Driscoll gang could be. What if that young bounty hunter screwed up and gave him up?
The thought made him even more anxious. He cursed himself for being so rash.
But as he’d said, he didn't have many other options.
His unreliable men wouldn't dare mess with the O'Driscoll gang. Those idiots were only brave enough to bully the surrounding farmers.
And his local partners wouldn't risk their own businesses to help him.
As for the cops, they were probably hoping they'd fight each other so they could clean up the mess.
All he could do now was pray to God that the young bounty hunter would succeed.
Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to escape the O'Driscoll gang's revenge.
While he was fretting, dawn broke. The guy hadn’t slept all night.
A ray of sunlight shone through the stable window, and the warm morning light calmed him down a bit.
"Whoa there..."
"Clomp clomp clomp..."
Suddenly, a clamor of hooves reached Sheamus's ears. A large number of horses were approaching the stable.
His heart skipped a beat.
The sound suggested at least a dozen horses. How could there be so many people? Could it be...?
He immediately grabbed a small bag from the nearby table, jumped up, and prepared to escape through the window.
The guy had already packed, ready to run if Stephen didn’t solve the problem.
"Sheamus!"
"Open up! Sheamus, I've brought you some good stuff."
Just as Sheamus was about to climb over the wall, a familiar voice reached his ears.
He stopped immediately, listening intently.
"Knock knock knock."

"Sheamus, you better open up quick. There's too much stuff here, and I don't want anyone else to see it."
It was the bounty hunter.
Sheamus was overjoyed. Had he made the right choice this time?
He slowly climbed down from the window and went to the stable door, opening the small window.
A familiar face appeared in the window, it was Stephen, back and successful.
His gaze shifted past Stephen, seeing a dozen horses following behind, dragging all sorts of things.
Sheamus understood. The guy hadn’t just killed those damned O'Driscoll gang members, he’d brought back all their stuff.
He quickly opened the door and welcomed Stephen inside.
"Take a look, horses, weapons, and other odds and ends. I think these things should fetch a good price."
Stephen slumped into a chair by the door as soon as he entered. The night had been exhausting.
He’d been busy scavenging through their camp, then struggling to herd the horses back.
Luckily, the horses were well-trained and of docile breeds.
They’d followed the herd automatically and hadn’t caused any trouble along the way, or Stephen wouldn't have managed.
"My God, you actually did it."
Sheamus exclaimed to Stephen, "I've never met anyone like you. You'll be famous someday."
Stephen chuckled at this, "Famous? Heh. I'm not looking for that."
Famous? What good would it do?
The American police loved to target famous people.
Stephen shook his head, pulled out a cigarette, and prepared to light up.
Sheamus hurriedly took out a box from under the table and offered Stephen a thick cigar.
"Genuine Cuban cigar, top quality."
As he spoke, he neatly clipped the end of the cigar and respectfully handed it over.
It was Stephen’s first time smoking such a fine cigar, and the flavor was unforgettable.
The rich tobacco flavor and a hint of fruit wood fragrance lingered. As he exhaled the smoke, he could taste a nutty aroma.
Stephen instantly fell in love with it. Compared to this, the cigarettes he’d been smoking before were crap.
Seeing this, Sheamus immediately pushed the whole box toward Stephen, "These are my stash, cost me a fortune. They're all yours now."
"If you run out, just let me know, and I’ll get someone to buy more."
Sheamus's obsequious behavior made Stephen smile. He slowly puffed on the cigar and asked, "When can I take my horse?"
"Anytime you want."
Sheamus said with a smile, "You can take it whenever you want. It's yours now."
"Like I said, I'm a man of my word, an honest businessman, but..."
Sheamus pointed to the horses and weapons Stephen had brought back, and said with a helpless look, "There's just so much stuff. It’ll take me some time to sort it all out. I at least have to find my men."
"What, are your men all on vacation?"
"Oh... don't even mention it."
Sheamus looked angry, "Those stupid guys ran away as soon as they found out the enemy was the O'Driscoll gang! Those damn fools!"
"Haha, go on, I'm going to the saloon to get some rest." Stephen stood up and prepared to walk out.
"Oh, by the way, sir, one more thing."
Sheamus quickly stopped Stephen, looked at Stephen's puzzled eyes, and pointed to Stephen’s Little White.
"Sir, like you said, it’s a fine horse. If you don't have a buyer..."
Sheamus rubbed his hands together and said to Stephen, "I have a friend in Saint Denis who's also in the horse business. You know, there are a lot of rich people in Saint Denis."
Stephen glanced at Little White. Indeed, such a horse could fetch a higher price in a big city like Saint Denis.
But suddenly selling Little White, Stephen felt reluctant.
This was a good horse, and it suited Stephen well. It would be a pity to sell it just like that.
Stephen shook his head, "Take care of it for me, take good care of it. Deduct the costs from the money."
He’d brought back five horses initially, and gotten twelve more last night when he wiped out the O'Driscoll gang.
Add in the weapons and ammunition, and it was a lot of money, enough for Sheamus to keep Little White well-fed and happy.
"Of course, I'll take good care of it."
Seeing that Stephen wasn't willing, Sheamus naturally didn't dare to say anything more and nodded in agreement immediately.
A guy who could take out a dozen O'Driscoll gang members alone could easily take him out too. He didn’t want to mess with someone like that.
