Chapter XI — The Demon’s Wing and the Sealed Battlefield

  ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The underground ritual chamber trembled violently.

  THUMP.

  THUMP.

  THUMP.

The cracked black crystal at the center of the ritual circle pulsed like a dying heart.

  Dark energy flooded the chamber.

  BOOOOOOM!

The summoning circle erupted with chaotic power.

Within the crimson light, a monstrous shape began to form.

  Claws.

  A twisted horned skull.

A massive body woven from burning shadows.

This was not a normal summoning.

  Lucas narrowed his eyes slightly.

  “…Interesting.”

But before the creature could fully emerge—

Footsteps echoed through the underground corridor.

  Many footsteps.

  TAP.

  TAP.

  TAP.

  Arin’s face turned pale.

  “…More of them.”

From the dark passage, more than a dozen figures entered the chamber.

Each one wore the black ring of the Hollow Sigil.

  And behind them—

  Two older figures stepped forward.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

  Their robes were darker.

  Their presence far heavier.

  Hollow Sigil elders.

One of them stared directly at Kashihero.

  “The vessel.”

The second elder slowly turned toward Lucas.

  “And the demon.”

  Several Hollow Sigil members frowned.

“That one doesn’t look like a demon.”

  “His aura is strange.”

  “Probably just another spirit user.”

  Lucas sighed softly.

  “I get that a lot.”

  Kashihero slowly drew his katana.

  SHING.

  “Lucas.”

  Lucas glanced toward him.

  “Yes, master?”

  “Low power.”

  Lucas smiled faintly.

  “As you wish.”

  Then—

Kashihero slightly raised his left hand.

A strange symbol appeared on his palm.

  A demonic contract circle.

  At the same moment—

The same mark appeared on Lucas’ right hand.

  The symbol glowed.

  CRACK.

  Lucas’ aura shifted.

Two massive black wings unfolded behind him.

  WHOOSH.

The chamber trembled under the pressure.

Several Hollow Sigil members stepped back.

  “…Wings?”

  “That’s impossible…”

  Lucas’ eyes darkened slightly.

Yet his form remained almost unchanged.

  No monstrous transformation.

  No grotesque demonic body.

  Just wings—

  And overwhelming presence.

  One member whispered in fear.

  “…He’s real.”

  Lucas stretched casually.

  “Fifty percent should be enough.”

  The elders shouted.

  “ATTACK!”

  ---

  Dimensional Seal

More than ten Hollow Sigil members rushed forward.

  Spirit weapons ignited.

  Dark magic filled the chamber.

  BOOM!

  WHOOSH!

  CRACK!

  Lucas raised one hand calmly.

  “Dimensional Barrier.”

The mark on his hand glowed brightly.

A circular field expanded outward instantly.

  SHHHHHH—

  Space itself began to distort.

  The chamber walls twisted slightly.

  Then—

A transparent spherical barrier formed around most of the attackers.

  They slammed into it immediately.

  BOOM!

  BOOM!

  One attempted to escape.

But the barrier warped the surrounding space.

  CRACK.

His arm bent at a horrifying angle.

  The elder shouted in shock.

  “Spatial magic?!”

  Lucas tilted his head.

  “Demon technique.”

Most of the Hollow Sigil members were now trapped inside the barrier.

  Punching.

  Striking.

  Screaming.

But the barrier did not move.

  Lucas sighed quietly.

  “Humans are noisy.”

  ---

  The Monster Awakens

  Meanwhile—

  The summoning circle exploded.

  BOOOOOOM!

  The monster fully emerged.

A towering creature with burning claws and a horned skull.

Its body filled the chamber with oppressive darkness.

  It roared violently.

  ROOOOOOOOAR!

  Arin stumbled backward.

  “…That thing is huge.”

  Kashihero glanced toward Lucas.

  “Protect Arin.”

  Lucas nodded calmly.

  “As commanded.”

  Lucas walked toward Arin.

A small protective barrier formed around them.

  Meanwhile—

  Kashihero stepped forward alone.

  The monster roared again.

  WHOOSH!

  Its massive claw slammed downward.

  BOOM!

  The ground shattered.

  But Kashihero was already gone.

  SHING.

A flash of steel appeared beside the creature.

  His katana struck its arm.

  CLANG.

  Sparks scattered.

The monster’s hide was extremely tough.

  Kashihero landed lightly.

  “…Good.”

Lightning began crawling across his blade.

  CRACK.

  The monster swung again.

  WHOOSH!

  Kashihero dodged effortlessly.

  He cut his finger again.

A drop of blood touched the blade.

  “Storm.”

  CRACK!

  Lightning exploded across the katana.

  The entire chamber flashed blue.

  Lucas watched with mild curiosity.

  “Master seems happy.”

  Arin stared in shock.

  “…He’s fighting that thing alone.”

  The monster roared again.

  Kashihero stepped forward.

The lightning around his blade intensified.

  BOOOOM!

Their next clash shook the entire ritual chamber.

  ---

  The Sealed Battlefield

  Far above them—

  The academy trembled slightly.

Students sleeping in their dormitories felt the ground shake.

  But none of them knew—

  That beneath their feet—

A battle between a vessel, a demon, and a summoned monster had begun.

Lucas glanced toward the trapped Hollow Sigil members still sealed inside the dimensional barrier.

  They were panicking now.

One elder glared at him with hatred.

  “You monster!”

  Lucas smiled politely.

“You summoned the wrong demon tonight.”

  Behind him—

  Lightning exploded again.

  CRACK!

Kashihero’s blade tore through part of the monster’s armored hide.

  The creature roared in fury.

The battle had only just begun.
