Chapter 0 - Prologue

  The Surface - At night

Beneath a pitch-dark sky, as a heavy rain falls over an open field between a large forest, lightning cracking across the clouds, offering just a blink of light every few seconds. Between flashes of lightning, pale skinned men with glowing yellow eyes moved out from the forest.

One man standing amidst the field, he is tall, and wide--A giant of muscle standing at over eight feet tall, wrapped in a red cloak--He then held one hand out, when a massive red sword appeared from thin air, right in between his fingertips.

He stabbed the blade into the ground, as the earth violently ripped open from the point of his sword, pulling itself apart as the stone and dirt parted before him like water--Cracking the earth in two, as both sides raised up from the tip of his blade.

Yelling and roaring, the pale skinned men were thrown into disarray as the ground gave way below their feet--Attempting to regain their balance as the earth rose far above the forest canopy, ripping trees right from their roots--Two stone walls lifted straight up then these walls came crashing down, crushing attackers in a blink, and the earth settled down, so the giant man lifted his blade once again.

Then, from the sky, a volley of arrows came shooting down across the scene right at the red caped giant, his sword disappeared as he turned back, crouching down while he hid below his cape--The arrows that landed on his back, bounced right off the cloth, once the barrage had ended, he turned in the direction of the attack, flicking his cape around, as he leapt straight in the air--The ground cracked below his feet as he came leaping far above the trees, when a second volley of arrows came shooting right ahead--He wrapped his cape around himself by spinning midair, flying straight through the arrows, once the barrage ended, he called the red sword back to hand, he came crashing down into the middle of the attackers--A small army with bows, all preparing to fire a third volley, as he landed in the midst of their formation, he stabbed his blade into the ground, sending a tremor across the earth, as the ground itself waved like it were a liquid, knocking each of the attackers down in an instant.

He lifted the blade up, before slashing it down in front of him, as the earth before his slice was cut open in a blink the eye across the entire field of men--All those standing before him, fell into the ground below, only to be crushed as the ground closed up again when he lifted his blade.

The survivors began to run, while the man stood tall above them, his eyes glaring down at them--When a loud roar came from between the trees of a nearby forest--The trees began to push aside as something came running out from afar. A giant humanoid beast standing tall above the forest, carrying a tree for a club, came rushing across the field--With pale grey skin, small beady eyes and a misshapen bald head, it threw its weapon towards the black haired and red cloaked man--As the tree came spiraling towards him, his sword disappeared, and he grabbed the flying tree midair, spinning as it was caught between his fingertips, before he tossed it aside, doing so with relative ease.

Cracking his shoulder and stretching his neck, he took a long breath, before calling his sword to hand once again, leaning back, and throwing the weapon straight towards the tree chucking attacker--The red sword whistled with the wind, shooting right through the skull of the attacker, and it was immediately killed.

He then turned his attention to those running, before calling his sword once again--Just as he was about to stab it into the ground, a spear came flying across the battlefield.

It moved silently through the air, he only noticed it at the last moment, grabbing it with his right hand--Only for it to disappear.

  “An Armament!?”

He shouted in surprise, when the same weapon could be seen in the hands of a warrior running in his direction--He attempted to stab his sword into the ground once again, but the spear came flying for him before he could--Sidestepping the weapon he lifted his sword, prepared to intercept the quick moving attacker:

It was a woman, with long black hair and silver eyes--In a blink, she got in close to the giant earth moving warrior, attempting to plunge her spear into his heart.

He sidestepped the attack once again, swinging his blade with speed and precision, she jumped up over the attack, running up the length of the blade as she threw a kick to his jaw, his blade disappeared as he stepped back, she jumped backwards, tossing her spear forward yet again--Landing on her hands, only for his blade to come swinging for her again--She leapt up over the attack, only for him to throw a punch in her direction--She used her arms to block it, but was thrown backwards, feet scraping against the ground, but she immediately pushed forward again.

Snapping towards him again, aiming her spear for his legs, when he swung his sword all around, she used the pole of her spear to block the blade, but was tossed back as a result, stabbing her weapon into the ground, catching herself, then glaring up at the giant wall of muscles before her.

“Who did you kill to take that weapon!?”

The man yelled, holding his sword over his shoulder. “You accuse me of murder while slaughtering them!?” She yelled back, throwing her weapon forward again, as he tossed it out of the air with a swing of his blade.

He then stabbed the blade down, as stone from the ground warped and wrapped around her up to her neck, not crushing her, but binding her in place.

She glared at him as he approached from below the rain, each step he took practically shook the earth. “Are you a Battle God?” He asked, glaring down at her, but she just quietly glared at him.

“Do you side with those Demon’s?”

He asked, awaiting a response, leaning down towards her face--All she did was spit in his eye.

His sword disappeared, as he rubbed his face with his sleeve. “You won't speak then? I could kill you at any moment.”

“Then why haven't you!?” She hissed, glaring at him.

He called his blade back to hand, stabbing it in the ground, she winced, closing her eyes tight as she heard the stone shift.

When she opened them again, he was sitting in front of her, on a crude seat of stone--Glaring back at her. “Are you a Demon?” He asked.

“And if I am!?” She yelled.

“You have an Armament, a weapon your kind, should not have.

They belong to Sol--So I ask again: How did you obtain that weapon?”

He asked. “That’s hardly what you asked the first time.” She scoffed, before smirking. “If I tell ‘ya, you'll just kill me after--So what makes you think I'd just surrender that tale?”

“Our fight is over, you've lost. Strong as you might be, you don't fight with experience, but instinct.

You're no warrior, just a beast with a weapon.

There'd be no honor in killing you, given you cooperate.”

  “Cooperate with a Battle God?

  Just kill me now!”

She smirked, when a nearby voice yelled out: “Leave my sister alone!” A wall of ice came shooting between the giant warrior and the woman trapped in the stone, and by the time he broke past the wall of ice, she'd disappeared.

The giant in a red cloak took a deep breath, rubbing his chin as he eyed the scene, left alone while the rain poured over his face.

Walking over to a boulder, he sat down and used his cape to cover his head and upper body from the rain, staring off into the distance where this strange and mysterious warrior had disappeared.

  “She almost got me.”

He glanced down at his feet. “I should've finished her off when I had the chance.” He sighed, left alone with just the sound of the rain.

“I don't suppose it'll be long before we'll meet again.

Won't let her get away twice.”
