Chapter 93: The Fierce Beauty Qiao

Chapter 93: The Fierce Beauty Qiao

Inside the elevator, Qiao Xier kicked wildly with both feet, her two fair hands clenched into little fists pounding away at Zhang Yang, nearly biting him. She cried like a weeping mess, and when she finally had no strength left, she slumped against Zhang Yang’s chest, mumbling curses, “You bastard, you jerk, you asshole, you finally decided to save me? Now put me down.”

Breathing in her pleasant scent, Zhang Yang reluctantly put her down. In all that chaos just now, he had groped her boobs and ass thoroughly. At least the trip wasn’t wasted.

“Aren’t you fine?” Zhang Yang finally calmed down. Seeing Qiao Xier crying like that made him both angry and heartbroken. Angry because she’d clearly lied about almost being raped, and heartbroken because she was really crying her heart out.

“Fine?” Qiao Xier gritted her teeth in fury. “Do you have any idea how I’ve been living lately? Getting asked out every day, having to meet people and eat with them, and I can’t even refuse. I was this close to jumping into the sea.”

“So you’ve been disappearing lately just to meet that guy?” Zhang Yang was furious—he’d obviously gone too easy on that bastard earlier.

“Mm! Mm!” Qiao Xier nodded hard, looking pitiful as she wiped her tears. She had light makeup on, and after one swipe, she looked like a little kitten.

Such a tall and gorgeous woman turning into a little kitten really left Zhang Yang amazed.

But before he could react, the girl lunged at him, sealing his mouth with her soft cherry lips. Her clumsy little tongue forced its way past his teeth, tangling with his.

Zhang Yang got excited, wrapping his arms tightly around her slender waist, like he wanted to fuse her into his body. He countered her kiss, devouring her little tongue. The two held each other tightly, tangled together until the elevator reached the ground floor.

When the door opened, five or six policemen stood at the entrance, dumbfounded, staring at the crazy couple. One of the officers couldn’t help but cough a few times, “Cough… cough, comrade, mind cooperating a bit? Keep that up and we’ll charge you for obstructing official duties.”

Zhang Yang reluctantly let go of Qiao Xier. Her face clearly said she was not happy.

The policemen stared at Qiao Xier, stunned—such a beautiful woman, though her image was a bit off.

Just then, the tall beauty who had been scared to the point of peeing herself earlier jumped out from behind the officers, pointing at Zhang Yang and shouting, “Officer, it’s him! It’s him! Arrest him!”

The officers’ faces darkened as they looked at Zhang Yang, teasing, “Bro, come on out, you’re coming with us.”

Zhang Yang shook his head speechlessly, glanced at that tall chick, and thought, Damn it, to beat you people up, I already lost six system points tonight. Now I’ve only got eleven left, you know that?”

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

Six points, all wasted on you two pretty girls and the four security guards. As for that bowtie guy and his bodyguards, the system hadn’t deducted any points for hitting them, so he didn’t feel guilty at all. Hell, he was more annoyed it hadn’t rewarded him instead.

But rescuing Qiao Xier and not getting even one hero-saving-beauty point? What kind of bullshit was that?

Zhang Yang was a man who knew right from wrong. Since he realized he’d hit the wrong people in the heat of the moment, he didn’t plan on running away.

He stepped out of the elevator, raised both hands, shrugged, and said, “Alright, I’ll go with you.”

“Good, man. That’s the spirit.” One of the cops pulled out handcuffs, about to cuff him.

Before he could grab Zhang Yang’s hands, Qiao Xier spoke up, “I’m warning you bastards, if any of you lay a finger on him, don’t even think about going home tonight.”

The cops froze on the spot. Damn, this beauty’s fierce!

  Threatening law enforcement like that?

One whiff of alcohol from her told them she was drunk. Still, the man had obviously assaulted people and destroyed property. Detention was certain.

“Alright, where do you live? Need us to send you back?” one officer asked kindly.

Qiao Xier frowned, staring at him, her eyes suddenly turning cold. “You think I’m joking?”

“Hey, miss, don’t think we won’t arrest you just because you’re drunk. Keep it up, and we’ll charge you for obstructing justice, you hear?”

“Is that so?” Qiao Xier glared at his badge number, pulled a phone from her Gucci bag, and quickly tapped in a series of digits, seemingly noting it down.

The officer was pissed and about to act when Zhang Yang spoke up, his tone filled with sympathy and concern, “Officer, I’d advise you to take it easy. When she goes crazy, you’re really in for it.”

Before he even finished, Qiao Xier started talking, “Uncle Li, I was bullied by a group of thugs. Please send someone to save me, quick! Elevator lobby, first floor, Royal Hee Hotel, Jingyue District.”

Zhang Yang rolled his eyes and sighed. So she really had been drinking—probably a lot. Could that bastard have set her up?

The cops looked at each other. She actually made the call right in front of them, even called them thugs. She was seriously wasted.

They huddled up, debating whether to take the crazy lady in too. A few minutes later, the lead officer’s phone rang.

As soon as he answered, his superior barked, “Lao Xu, urgent mission! Where are you? Get to Royal Hee Hotel now! We just got word—an important figure’s daughter is being harassed by thugs at the first-floor elevator lobby. Arrest every single one of them! Don’t let anyone escape! Her last name’s Qiao—tall, pretty girl! Save her fast! If you’re late, we’re all screwed!”

“Being harassed by thugs at Royal Hee’s elevator lobby?” the lead officer repeated. Damn, wasn’t that referring to them?

Shit. The officer was stunned. His superiors had just ordered him to arrest himself. What the hell kind of order was that?

In disbelief, he called his superior back. Two seconds later, a panicked voice came through, “Well? Are you there yet? It’s urgent! I’m telling you, if you screw this up, the district chief might get sacked!”

“The district chief might get sacked?” The officer sighed into the phone, “Yeah, we’re here!”

He looked at Qiao Xier, utterly speechless. Who the hell was this woman? She was way too powerful. She did look familiar, though he couldn’t place her.

“Good. Arrest those thugs. Don’t let a single one go.” His superior didn’t think twice—the timing between calls had been barely two minutes.

“Boss, can I say they’ve all escaped?” The officer was on the verge of tears. What a mess.

“Escaped? How the hell are you doing your job? Then… what about Miss Qiao? Did you find her?” his superior asked anxiously.

“Found her.” The officer looked at the Qiao goddess and replied helplessly.

“Good. Protect her. If she loses a single hair, you’re the one I’ll come after.”

After hanging up, the officer said nothing, dragged the hotel receptionist and manager aside, and whispered with them.

Then he came back, glanced at Zhang Yang and Qiao Xier, and awkwardly said, “You two can go now.”

Zhang Yang looked at Qiao Xier beside him, thinking, damn, you’re domineering and wild. She glared at him and snapped, “What are you waiting for? Move!”

Zhang Yang rarely saw Qiao Xier, usually so low-key, unleash this kind of power. He was reluctant to leave, but seeing the pitiful, resentful eyes of the security guards he’d beaten half to death, he lowered his head. Fine, debts have their owners—you guys should really be blaming Qiao Xier.

He was just about to take the chance to slip away.

Another elevator opened, and out came the bowtie guy Zhang Yang had beaten into a pig’s head, supported by two bodyguards and a waiter. He pointed at Zhang Yang and shouted, “Arrest that bastard!”

The officer frowned at him. Seriously? Picking a fight now? I just got chewed out. He turned to leave, but the bowtie guy exploded, yelling, “Do you even know who my father is?”

The cop stopped, irritated, and asked, “And who might that be?” Don’t tell me it’s Li Gang.

“My father’s Du Dingyu. Try letting that punk go again if you dare.”

The officer’s face fell instantly. Du Dingyu—shit, wasn’t he the heir of the powerful Du family from the Southeast Province?

So that meant this guy was the direct grandson of the recently retired top leader, Old Master Du?

The officer looked helplessly between Zhang Yang, Qiao Xier, and the bowtie guy, completely lost. Damn, he never should’ve come here tonight. One side was his boss’s order, the other was the Du family—what the hell was he supposed to do?
