Chapter 63. Rough start

It took me three days to realize Voras was hunting the kobolds, though I knew I'd given her permission it was the efficiency she did it with that surprised me.

Twenty eight shriveled up cocoons were tied up in a tree on the other side of the farm to the house. It was where Voras had decided to build her nest even though she had her own room in the house. Unfortunately she had not yet given me permission to enter so I didn't know what it looked like.

"Here you go." Voras said pointing at the cocoons as if I should do something about them.

"Yesssss." I drew out hoping Tarakona would give me the answer I was clearly missing.

Like me, my Dragon was looking at them all in confusion.

"Harvest them." Voras added when she realized we had no idea what she was on about. "If you purchase a knife from your store that can cut my silk and you remove the bones you can sell it to the shop. I can't repurpose it for anything else so you might as well do something with it."

Voras had been stingy about giving me her silk in the st few days as she had kept making the excuse that her nest and clothes for us all were more important. I wasn't going to argue there as she had made a lovely bra to help Zeldi support her tits that my mare absolutely love to show me at every opportunity.

Speaking of my mare, she'd been a little depressed after finding everything out and had stayed in her room all of the st three days. Apart from making sure she was fine every hour or so we had left her to sort her feelings out. Not even the attempt to get her to decide Tilty's next position got her to move. The fawn had just been frozen as we didn't know what else to do.

Tarakona on the other hand was a little harder to become friends with for the Arachnid. My Dragon had stayed in her true form and was this unable to be bribed with clothes, it was actually amusing to me when I realized while I was trying to gain my new Livestocks favor, Voras was trying to gain Tarakona's.

[So if you are fed you can produce more silk for Master? I do not understand why you are hesitant to do so and only now give him the scraps.]

I am very happy Zeldi and Tarakona got along so quickly when she first crash nded. Voras with her rocky start isn't gaining Tarakona's favor any time soon.

Zeldi on the other hand was a little too easy to persuade. That might be because in her mind anyone who doesn't do what Tilty has done to her is automatically good. Something to watch out for.

"I have told Clovek that the majority of my silk is needed..."

[For your nest. Something you have built out here instead of in the house where you have your own personal space. Clovek may be willing to ignore it in favor of making you more comfortable but I will not. He has done nothing wrong and still you feel like he must be watched constantly.]

"It's okay Tarakona." I said as mediation.

  [No it's not Master!]

"Just think of it like this. If a was a Fawn instead of a human would Zeldi have trusted me instantly?"

  [That's.... Different.]

We all knew Tarakona didn't believe her own words.

"Just think of it like this." I said with a shrug. "She's really only putting you at a disadvantage by not giving me her silk since it's needed for the automatic butcher."

Voras growled and I knew I'd hit a nerve. Like Tarakona had said she was fiercely protective of both my girls but kept me at an arm's length. This distance was also what was keeping her from sharing her silk with me even though Zeldi had an entire new wardrobe that was probably made just for her but every time a new piece was made she immediately found me to show it off. Voras didn't like that but Zeldi had stubbornly said she was mine so anything she owned was mine as well.

[And after you buy that what's next?]

She had me stumped there for a second before I found my answer. "Something like the homunculus things. There's a farming one that I want to try out to see how it works. This is all to supply both myself and Zeldi with food this time but it's not urgent as we have a lot of grains in storage. Just something to diversify our diet and actually see what options I have."

[So by not having these points you need so much, Zeldi and myself are forced to struggle more?]

Ah... I sometimes forget that Tarakona is vastly older than I am. Her opinion and submissiveness during sex really throws me through a loop.

"Yes. But there not too big of problems." I tried to downpy it all but Tarakona wasn't having it.

[Oh yes Master because feeding your Livestock is not a big issue and can be ignored for as long as possible.]

"I get it!" Voras yelled but then defted into herself. "You are right, I'm letting my opinion of Clovek blind me to what's actually required. I will begin today with providing him with my silk."

  [Finally.]

Tarakona huffed a cloud of frost that settled over Voras's nest. It showed a complex weave of silk that would have been invisible to my sight beforehand.

"And now that that's out of the way can we get on to one of the more pressing matters? Like why the hell are there this many kobolds all along the edge of my nd?" I said looking back at all the silken cocoons.

"There's not much that needs to be said there." Voras shrugged gd we weren't talking about her anymore. "They want in and keep coming regardless of how many mysteriously disappear."

[You are not pcing their corpses around as a method of scaring them?]

"No because it would have a simir effect on traders that are just wondering through. Clovek has mentioned he needs them." Voras gave as an answer.

Honestly couldn't fault her for that. Couldn't really go all demon lord on the farm, would make it really hard to get more Livestock especially with Voras's position. Or maybe she would like if I became a monster that killed everyone so long as they weren't a livestock. Hard to tell with her.

"Gd you thought that far ahead." I complimented buying a knife from the store. It cost me fifty points and I almost said it washed worth it but having a way to break her thread myself would be helpful.

  Voras silk knife (50 FP)

And into my inventory you go.

I made my way over to the first cocoon but was intercepted by the spider who made them as she maniputed a few of the intricate strands to make them drop straight to the ground. I think Tarakona got to her.

I didn't know if removing the bones cleanly would award me more points so I began cutting the front in a line that I hoped was straight. Unfortunately for myself I couldn't remove the bones while it was in my inventory, nore could I sell it without them being removed. Yes I tried.

"So Clovek. What is your next quest?"

I had to stop myself from spping my forehead as I was holding a knife but dam did I feel stupid.

Current quest: Complete 2 Livestock quests.

Reward: Status sheet containing Livestock abilities.

  Progress: 0/2

A quick look brought it to my vision not that it made me feel any better. I've known for a while now that Tarakona would have a new quest and I'd never asked.

"Ummm. I need to help complete a few of you guy's quests." I got out managing to hide my face by looking like I was busy with the silk cocoon. Admittedly the bones were very off-putting but they sure as hell beat looking at the girls right now.

[Oh mines easy. I need to sell five eggs to a trader and I already have three id and ready.]

"You have three already? Why haven't you given them to me?" I ment it as a general question but my voice rose a pitch due to my surprise.

[Because they're not worth a lot to you and if I leave them in my room they are safe from being stolen and are kept cold for storage.]

She had me there. I couldn't even say I just wanted to taste them as I didn't have a use for Mana regeneration and eating really expensive eggs was a big waste. Well expensive to traders, my store stupidly thought they were cheap.

"What about your quest Voras?" I asked trying to change the conversation away from my voice crack.

Voras's eyes narrowed and I could almost see her trying to come up with a lie but thought better of it. "Mine is to provide all Livestock on the farm with three sets of clothes. Two for farmwork and one for...." She hesitated and I could see her biting her lip. "One for pleasure."

["Pleasure?"] Both Tarakona and I asked in unison.

Voras bared her fangs. "Yes. My bloody quest is to make a sexy outfit for everyone that you approve of. Are you happy now?!"

My mind went straight to the gutter with images of each of my girls in different styles until it clicked exactly why Voras didn't like her quest. All my Livestock.

  The quest included her.
