Library of the Hidden

Chapter 38– Library of the Hidden

The Deathslingers walked out of the hospital wearing disguises.

Imaez wearing temporary hair dye, giving him white hair with sparkling blue eyes, whilst wearing a dark purple uniform.

Marie wore a turban around her head, same with Naomi. The pair wore dresses that belong to Archaian culture. The dresses being of taffeta fabric with floral embroidery.

Lloyd and Falcon wore black cloaks covering their entire body up until their ankles.

“So.. why do we have to wear these disguises?” Naomi’s eyes looked at Falcon.

“On my way to the hospital, they had bounties out on us. The Deathslingers are breaking into the world.” Falcon said, resting his finger on his chin.

“Everybody, huddle around me.” Falcon said whilst smirking.

The Deathslingers walked closer to Falcon.

A strap of light buckled onto everybody’s waist.

“Haha! Forget carriages when I’m here..” Falcon sent them soaring; traveling at the speed of light.

“So, where exactly should we be going..?” Marie wondered.

“If we’re wanted, we have to keep with the disguise. Let’s go back to the inn so we can get our stuff and go.” Naomi responded.

“The inn it is!” Falcon instantaneously moved everybody to the inn.

“That was faster than before, right..?” Lloyd asked Falcon.

Falcon with a wide grin. “Yeah, I put a bit more energy into it, so we went faster.”

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

*Faster than the speed of light… he’s impressive.* Imaez made a mental note.

A receptionist walked to the door.

“Hello. Are you here to book or check in?”

Imaez stepped forward and whispered into her ear.

The receptionist looked back at the group. “You’re all good to go! Enjoy your time here.” She looked back at Imaez.

*His eyes are puffy.. I wonder why.*

Inside of a bar, a man with curly hair took a shot of vodka.

He slumped over the table holding his head.

*I was looking for 2 hours— not a single trace of the Wind Queen. Everything feels so weird lately.. how come the House of Urame names their child Jasmine, probably paid a fortune to get her into the military and to keep her files hidden..* Aurelian’s distressed face soon changed.

  “Hidden..” He whispered to himself.

  A flash of a memory.

Guri and Aurelian inside of the Military Training Gym. The two sat down on the bench laughing around.

“Okay, look. Hypothetically— if you were to become High Command, what’s the first thing you’re doing?” Aurelian said laughing.

“Oh easy! I’m going through the Library of the Hidden. There’s so much knowledge in there. I only got to know because General Remus gave me the wrong note one time.” Guri said with a smile.

Aurelian got up from his chair and paid for his tab.

  “Library of the Hidden..”

Aurelian got into a carriage heading back to the Headquarters.

*If I remember correctly, the first library built is underground the current library on the first floor.* Aurelian put a finger on his chin. *There’s no other reason why the first library would be covered up by this random ‘rebuilt’ version of it unless they had something to hide.*

The carriage stopped in front of the Headquarters. Aurelian stepped out and walked into the building. Jogging across the first floor as he entered the long hallway to the library.

He looked across the hallway, seeing numerous doors before he stopped in his tracks.

He read out a sign plastered across a door.

“Currently in construction— DO NOT ENTER!”

He walked to the door and twisted it open.

Stepping one foot inside, he fell down into an abyss of darkness.

“Hmm?!” Aurelian covered his mouth not screaming as he free fell to wherever this pit led to.

  ..

  ..

Thirty seconds pass and no contact with anything yet. Until—

  PMOOF!

His fall was saved by some mysterious material that absorbed all the impact— leaving Aurelian untouched.

Light finally hit his face. The sound of torches crackling.

He looked to his side and there he had seen it.

“The Library of the Hidden. Everything is here…” He said in awe.

  His eyes couldn’t focus.

A myriad of bookshelves, each being at the very least 20 feet tall.

Aurelian has stepped into a world he cannot escape from.

“How many bookshelves could there possibly be? And how big even is this place?” He looked up to see the roof made of some type of stone. “Those stones are holding this entire…cave.. together?”

He began walking to the farthest row to him. “I guess this is where I’ll start for now.” He concentrated energy into his feet and enhanced his speed.

“Let’s see…” He grabbed a book from the shelf.

The book had no labeling or anything, just a leather cover around the book. Aurelian’s hands flipped the cover and read the contents of what he had seen.

“Study of Angels and Demons. How to transcend to either one.”

  His eyes went wide.

  “This is… in our empire?”

He flipped the page once more.
