I stood in the middle of my cramped room, repeatedly clenching and unclenching my fist. I could feel the cower coursing through my veins, and it felt so great that all I could do was stand there in awe at my newfound power. I felt significantly stronger than how a typical three-year old would feel and even stronger than how I felt in my past life. Though that might've not been saying much, considering the lifestyle I was living before. Still though, to be so young with this amount of power would surely give me a leg up in this world right? Hopefully it would even allow me to defend myself against Mira.
Well the only thing left to do now is…
I turned my attention to the wooden desk and chair in my room. I had never really used them much because it was a pain to climb up and down the chair, plus, I never had anything to study anyways. That made the two items the perfect dummies to test my new power.
With that decided, I clenched my, pulled it back, and threw a pouch straight for the leg of the wooden chair. To my surprise and delight, my fist went straight through the leg of the chair, causing splitters of wood to fly out and the chair to fall.
The results of my secret training had been better than I had ever imagined. I had managed to teach myself not only how to gather mana but to also utilize it to strengthen my tiny body. I looked at the clenched fist held in front of me and decided to use it again. Turning around to face my bed, I struck it with another blow of the same caliber. Again, my fist went through the wooden platform of the bed and caused shards of wood to spread throughout my room. It was another success, and I didn't even feel any weaker. It made me wonder how much mana I had gathered since to me, it felt like I hadn't gathered much, if any, at all.
I ended up spending the next few minutes completely destroying my room. I attacked any object I could find, including my desk and wooden drawers. Of course, none of the wood could withstand any of my attacks and it felt great. With this newfound power, I would not only be able to defend myself against any one of Mira's punishments, but I would also be able to give one right back to her.
After tearing up my entire room I decided to call it a night. My room already looked a mess and I still needed to come up with an excuse as to why everything was destroyed and why there were pieces of wood everywhere. I started to walk towards my bed but something caught my attention. The only piece of my room that was left unscathed after my experiment was the actual walls of my room. The wood was much thicker and sturdier than any piece of furniture in my room. If I was able to punch a hole in the wooden wall of my room, then I would have no doubt in my power.
Punching through wood about as thick as that woman's skull should do the trick. Just a quick punch then I'll go right to bed.
I walked up a wall of my room, making sure not to choose one that connected to another room and instead choosing women that touched the outside world. I cocked back my fist as I had done many times before, just a few minutes ago. Then, I gave the wall my signature swing.
Though this time, something was different. In the middle of my swing, I suddenly felt all of the power leave my body. The power that I had used to punch holes through solid wood was suddenly gone and I had no clue why. All I knew was that I just swung a giant punch towards a solid slab of wood and that I had no time to stop my fist from colliding with it. I panicked but didn’t have much time to as my fist collided with the wood in almost an instant.
Shit...
My fist collided with the wood and of course without my power, the wood withstood the punch with no effort at all. I could feel a sharp pain in my knuckles and fingers and pulled my hand away from the wall immediately. My hand was in so much pain and I could tell I had broken, or at least sprained something.
Not being able to hold it in because of the amount of pain, I screamed out and began to cry as I slumped to the wooden floor.

“What's goi- Reylus?!” Mira exclaimed as she and Caelen burst into the room.
By this point in the night, I didn't care at all if they found out about my secret training or whatever. My hand was in so much pain that all I cared about was getting it fixed. Mira scooped me up into her arms. I made no effort to fight it and let her do as she pleased.
“What happened, Reyly? Why are you crying? And why is your room a mess? Did something happen? Did a monster break in?” Mira asked in quick succession. I didn't answer as I was focusing on just trying to hold in my tears so I wouldn't burst out crying again. Meanwhile Caelen was looking at all of the destroyed furniture in the room, dumbfounded. The look on his face was kind of hilarious. The man couldn't believe his eyes.
“Honey quick, go get my sword, and I'll slay whatever beast dared to hurt my son.” Mira ordered Caelen while holding me close to her chest, protectively. “Nevermind, there's no time. Point me towards it, Reyly, and i'll kill it with my bare hands!”
The crazed woman's eyes began darting around the room looking for some trace of the supposed attacker. After finding nothing, her eyes then glanced down towards me in her arms.
“Mira, I think you're jumping to conclusions. I'm sure Reyly has a perfectly good explanation for this…mess.” Caelen reasoned before turning his gaze towards me, waiting for an answer.
I hesitated for a moment. To be honest, there was no reason to hide what I had been up to all night. I didn't really care what they thought of me or my nightly endeavors, but I guess it was the child brain or body that made me afraid of getting in trouble. Regardless, I didn't have the time to come up with an excuse, so I had no choice.
Plus, I really wanted to get my hand fixed. While the pain had lessened, It still hurt and I had been clutching it with my unhurt hand the entire time. If coming clean meant I could get my hand fixed with Caelen's mafic water or maybe whatever doctor they had in this world, coming clean was probably my best bet anyways.
“I was…trying to do magic. Like you and dad.”
Caelen and Mira glanced at each other, giving each other a look that I couldn't quite decipher. Then, Mira set me down onto the floor, standing up. I looked up at both of them as we stood in the center of my destroyed room. I waited anxiously for what they were about to say or do. Looking up at them they both looked so imposing as they looked down. At that moment, I really did feel like a child waiting to be scolded after doing something wrong.
“Now Reyly, why would you think that was a good idea? It's the middle of the night and you decide to stay up and play with magic all on your own like it's some kind of toy? Magic isn't some kind of joke for your own amusement, it can be dangerous, especially if you don't know what you're doing. And who taught you how to use mana anyways, was it your sister? Your father? Don't you know how dangerous it is for kids to use magic at such a young age. I thought you'd know better, considering how smart you are for your age, but I guess not. At the end of the day, you're still a child. And what the hell is this mess?! I told you magic was dangerous, just look what it did to your room. All that good furniture, wasted! I can't believe this! Do you know how long it took for me to pick out that furniture? Or how long it took for your father and I to put it together? Or how long it took for me to figure out the perfect arrangement for it?!”
Mira's scolding went on for what seemed like forever. I was only halfway listening because of the pain of my shattered hand, but I stopped listening completely around halfway in. Every time it seemed like she was finished, she seemed to find another thing to complain about. Though as long as she didn't hit me, I was fine with the woman's nagging. In my current state, even though I could use mana to strengthen myself, I didn't have the energy to do so.
In the middle of Mira's blabbering, knelt down to me and took my hand. “You hurt your hand didn't you? I could see you trying to hide it but you're not doing a good hiding the strain on your face.” he chuckled.
I guess I don't look as stoic as I thought.
Caelen examined my hand, flipping it over and back to look at the damage. I took a moment to look at it too. It looked worse than I thought, and it was swelling pretty noticeably.
“I know your mother can go a bit overboard with her scoldings, but she's right you know.” Caelen conjured up the same orb of water and began using it to heal my hand. I instantly felt the soothing, cooling sensation and the sharp pain began to slowly fade. Though, I figured because of the extent of the damage, I could still feel that it wasn't healed.
“Magic isn't something that can be used without caution. You see that right, with how you hurt yourself? But I'm not gonna berate you for that…” he took a glance at Mira, who was still going on and on, now pacing around the room as she continued her complaining. I honestly couldn't believe she was still going.
Caelen turned his gaze back towards me, “Look, to be honest im actually pretty proud of you for using mana at such a young age. I've never even heard of a three year old even being able to actively gather mana, let alone utilize it. You've got to show me. And who taught you anyways? Nevermind that, we can go over all this tomorrow or something.”
He then dissipated his spell then hut his hand on my shoulder. “I couldn't heal it completely but the swelling went down a bit and it shouldn't hurt as much. Tomorrow we’ll take you to the doctor and we can actually get you healed up. Now go get some sleep.”
Take me to the doctor? If I didn't know that I was in a different world, I wouldn't have thought much of it. But the fact that I was in a different world meant that doctors here were probably not the same as on earth.
Caelen stood up and went over to Mira, who was still pacing around the room fuming. He took her hand and, thankfully, began to drag her out of the room. “Come on honey, i think he's learned his lesson”
“Well, alright. He better have.” she huffed as she followed his lead. Before leaving though, she turned her head back to me and said “Don't think you're off the hook”
I fought the urge to roll my eyes and nodded my head in response. Then, they left the room, leaving me alone in the mess I had made. Overall it had been a successful night, besides injuring myself, of course. I was ready to call it a night and get some well deserved rest.
Wait, didn't I destroy my bed? Where the hell am I supposed to sleep?
