Chapter 1: Origin

Roughly 20 billion years ago, the universe was completely black, except for two continent-sized crystal balls. One blue, and one violet. They let out a soft glow, they have for thousands of years. Then they cracked, and beams of light spewed out of the cracks. Then they exploded open with enough energy to blow up galaxies billions of times over. Out of each came two divine beings. Z’ortha, the god of destruction, and Martial, the god of creation.

Martial went around and made the universe, stars, galaxies, and planets. While Z’ortha destroyed the unnecessary celestial objects. This time marked the beginning of the Divine Calendar (DC). Up until the divine calendar year 4,893,100,276, the two gods realised that if they were to perish, no one could keep the balance of the universe. Thus, they created Scholars, mortals who were given powers and immortality, made with the sole purpose of taking over their god’s place in the future. Z’ortha went to a nearby galaxy and recruited a small orphan named K’than to be his first scholar, and Martial recruited Orelion as his successor.

Billions of years pass, and on the divine calendar year 10,963,108,101, Martial finally witnesses what Z’ortha can do firsthand. Realising that destruction has gone too far after Z’ortha blew up a whole galaxy for fun. So Martial uses forbidden creation power and imprisons Z’ortha inside a black hole named “The Dark Place”, where Z’ortha is stripped of his powers and immortality, leading to just 9 divine calendar years later, Z’ortha passes away, turning it into dust, leaving nothing but a glowing pink orb the size of a small car, this is the source of Z’ortha’s soul and powers, this will be known as “The Core of Destruction”.

After the fall of Z’ortha, his scholars grow mad at the loss of their master. And this starts the 1st Scholar War, a terrifying battle that left the universe in shambles. 10% of all scholars are lost, billions of mortals are dead, and 4 galaxies are destroyed and erased from existence.

After the war had concluded with neither side winning, K’than was crowned the new god of destruction. Following Z’ortha’s footsteps, K’than destroyed everything unnecessary.

One day, K’than was testing out his power when he concentrated 99% of his power onto a single asteroid. The asteroid began to crystallize into an orange crystal ball. Powerful energy flowed throughout the universe, sending tremors that shook stars and distorted gravitational fields.

The crystal cracked and blew open into a massive storm of divine energy. The outcome was a small orange glow that shone with the same light as a thousand suns. Then, around the bright light, an orange body grew quickly. It stunned K’than so much that he had to back up. When the body was fully formed, the result was another cosmic being. This being was named Hyther, the god of dimensions.

After Martial gained word of Hyther’s creation, he realised that it was possible to create gods. So Martial tested it out, and the same outcome came. The god of energy, Aethryn, was made. So one after another, more gods were made. Noctyrn, the god of time, Sylvara, the god of life, Voryn, the god of knowledge; and Luthra, the god of shadows. These gods are known as 2nd-generation gods, while Martial and Z’ortha are considered 1st-generation. Soon after all the gods were made, Martial decided to make the home of the greatest number of mortals, a planet called Earth. And the gods decided to temporarily retire into giant storms of space dust called celestial palaces, where they could teach the scholars about being gods.

Then Orelion, the scholar and successor of Martial, was killed by a divine creature no one had heard of. The thing called itself “The Serpent Who Consumes the Burning Sky”, a terrifying beast the length of a small galaxy thats main purpose was to kill scholars. The creature was so powerful that it outclassed Martial.

Eventually, K’than attempted to free his master from The Dark Place, but as he was doing so, Hyther appeared and grew mad at K’than’s plan. So Hyther created a dimension called The Lockstep Void, whose main purpose was to imprison The Dark Place. Red chains emerged from the portal and binded itself around The Dark Place and dragged the black hole inside the dimension, and the portal was sealed.
