  Huh…

  I guess my worries were unnecessary.

  But… what am I looking at?

  I can’t help but frown after entering a massive cavern inside the monster’s body. One that is practically the size of an entire planet.

  It took what I’m guessing is probably several months just to get here, but this is absolutely not what I was expecting.

  On top of the fact that it’s a planet-sized cavern full of monsters, it also has some sort of moon floating at the center of the cavern. With an immense amount of energy flooding outwards from the moon to fill the cavern.

  And the energy in the cavern itself seems to be forming more monsters every second.

  I narrow my eyes at the incredibly powerful monsters flooding the cavern. Then at the moon that most likely houses the true body of the boss.

  Fortunately for me, there are plenty of places to hide in this cavern. Considering its size and all.

  So before doing anything else, I teleport straight to a good hiding spot in the cavern. Using it to recover my energy as much as I can.

  After I finish recovering, I teleport right next to the moon and try to pierce it with my polearm. Only for said polearm to bounce off without leaving a scratch.

  Yeah, part of me kind of expected that would happen. The thing is Ascendant Tier, after all.

  In that case, I have one of two options.

  First would be to find a weakness in the moon and break through it.

  And the second option is the more likely one. Using all of the powerful monsters in this cavern to charge up my strong attacks. Which will take a bit of work, but is very possible.

  The monsters are fighting each other in here for some reason. Probably to grow stronger or something.

  And Observation Effect Absorption doesn’t require attacks to be directed at me for me to absorb energy from them. I just have to observe attacks in general.

  So I do just that. I sit in a corner hidden away from the monsters and watch the monsters fight and eat each other. All while more monsters replace the dead ones.

  Once in a while, some monsters spot me and begin to turn their attacks onto me. But I avoid them easily enough by teleporting to the other side of the cavern.

  Fortunately for me, my teleportation isn’t stunted in here since I can see the entire cavern. Unlike the tunnels.

  And just like that, time slowly passes as I build up an enormous amount of power.

  All the way until I feel like I have more than enough power for another Ascendant level attack.

  Then I teleport next to the moon again, pull out my polearm, then use up all of the energy stored away by both Observation Effect Absorption and Quantum Vampirism at once while swinging the polearm. Making an enormous blast of energy coat and shoot out from the blade of my polearm right at the moon.

  The resulting explosion sends me flying straight through multiple monsters to slam into the wall of the cavern, killing the monsters I blast through and cracking the cavern walls in the process. But when I revert the damage to myself and focus on the moon, I find myself grinning a little.

  Because, while the moon wasn’t split open or anything, it does at least have massive cracks running across its surface from which more energy is being spilled out into the cavern. Forming even more monsters in the process.

  Okay, not bad. I can probably break it open with one more strike.

  My eyes suddenly widen when I feel as if the energy in the moon itself is turning its attention to me. And the monsters all begin to turn towards me as well.

  Shit.

  I teleport away when a round of hundreds of different attacks all fire off straight at where I was. Then I begin teleporting over and over again to avoid the attacks of the monsters in the area.

  The only bright side is that the monsters are all hitting each other as well. And the ones that get hit are temporarily turning their attention to each other to hit back.

  So whatever the boss is doing to control them isn’t absolute at the very least.

  Still. This is getting dangerous.

  Some of the monsters’ attacks manage to hit me, forcing me to waste energy to reverse the damage. My Reaper’s Blade is also repeatedly being destroyed before repairing it as I use the thing to block attacks.

  Honestly, I think the only reason I’m even surviving at this point is thanks to my Cloak of Souls. Which is absorbing the souls of the monsters dying here and turning them into soul energy for me to recover with.

  And the only reason that’s possible is because the monsters are still killing each other even while targeting me.

  I continue teleporting around the area while occasionally having to use the energy I’ve built up from Quantum Vampirism and Observation Effect Absorption to heal, making sure to use less than I’m gaining as I do so. All the way until the wave of energy coming from the moon begins to decrease in density. And a lot of the monsters turn their attention away from me.

  Finally giving me time to relax a little bit.

  I take a deep breath the moment I teleport into another crevasse within the cavern. Then I return to gathering energy.

  More time passes before I gather enough energy again and teleport straight to the moon. Slashing my Reaper’s Blade once more into the center of the cracks while releasing all of the energy at once.

  And just like the last time, a massive explosion shakes the entire cavern to its core. Sending me flying through monsters into the cavern wall again.

  But unlike the last time, the sound of something massive cracking and breaking apart also fills the cavern along with the explosion.

  And when my vision comes back to me with the fading light of the explosion?

  I find the moon now wide open, revealing the true body of the boss whose form honestly kind of gets on my nerves.

  Because it’s a fucking piranha.
