The Knight Queen’s Gaze

"Report Zephyrius, what do you see?" An operator from white class asked me over my earpiece, her sweet voice made the dudes accompanying me blush, I facepalm at their foolishness behind enemy lines.

  [Scanning Area... 322 Rebels Ahead.]

  Rebels?

"There are around two hundred armed soldiers stationed here, I will carefully dispatch them, and have a team ready for infiltration." I turned off my earpiece and stared at the nervous group of amateurs trembling before anything was certain. "Stay here. Let my class take care of this issue. You will slow me down, guard this position."

The group was relieved not protesting me dropping down.

I jump through the shadows and disappear into the night, heart pounding, adrenaline coursing through my veins. The cool hail breeze brushes against my skin, as I run towards resting enemies who are caught off guard. "Goodnight!" Slashing their throats with precision. They couldn't sound any alarms, their blood splattered on my new uniform as I stepped closer hearing distant gunfire, something bothered me.

"Kerosene?" I sniffed. "Gunpowder? Here? How.." My instincts kicked in and forced me to dodge an old man wearing some unique combat uniform from a division not seen in years, he moved faster than my perception of him. I jump backwards unsheathing thundering energy, quickly parrying a hasten twin blade strike.

"Who are you?!" I gritted my teeth being pushed back. "What do you eat to get so physically strong old timer?" His ki raged, clashing against my coated silver aura.

Seeing his fellows who all look quite experienced in combat rank, maybe above generals? They carried a enormous energy about them as well, and that unsettling feeling? Yeah. The air became thicker, I couldn't breathe properly. "Careful Zephyr. Everything should be fine." Selene's voice urges cautiously. "Selene?"

As the old man signalled his team to attack, some went on ahead; causing mischief for our enemies. The four attacked recklessly, "Not gonna answer huh! Tch! These guys are tougher than the forces we fought days ago." My blade slices through the air, meeting the his black sword with a clang. The clash of metal echoes around us, I slide, he charges, I jump, he blasts me using monstrous ki. "Damn it! Am I foughting a master?" Landing. We dance in rhythmically executed battle;the old man gave chase, I balanced on roofing, narrowing dodging rows of tree at our speed and his blade, I vaulted over a bridge.

  [Star Energy 355/915]

"He's stronger than Rem.." My sword hand trembled from near numbness. "Is now a good time to discuss paychecks?"

Sweat beads form on my brow as I parry and strike fluidly from his dive attack. The three other soldiers armed with guns and knives also kept me at bay as a large blaze ignited behind us.

"Zephyrius! Can you hear me? Hey! It's June, the operator died, our position was compromised by an ally force from other classes because they were captured and killed." June yelled through my earpiece loudly. "The operation failed, our forces were lost, and an evacuation order is being sent so- Kyaah!"

"June? June! Talk to me June! Damn," I dart past the mysterious group before me, swinging my blade in one killing flash. "Out of my way!" Thunder booming harshly. More soldiers much stronger of that faction showed up halting me. "Out of the way!"

"Sir we successfully took down the stronghold, what do we do with that student?" A tall colonel pointed at me who struggled to keep their increasing numbers away. She had red eyes and white hair, a luster glow of an uniform; whoever this person is, they're even greater than Rem and this already unstoppable old man. "No one has perfect luck like me!" I yelled at a poor mountain rabbit casually moving past up.

  A dumb coincidence..

The old man rubbed his chin, "Capture him, he's the Moonlight Swordsman's favorite disciple, and the Selenia's chosen wielder anyhow. As for the academy and their enemies? None of it matters as they paid the price for capturing our ashen kin months ago."

Selenia whispered telepathically from the blade. "Zephyr.. she has Elysium!" My eyes grew wide, "That Elysium?!" I finally cleared the enemies in one Icespark slash, their remaining platoon made way for the tall slender woman holding her scythe.

  [Star Energy 40/915]

"Oh no," I grunted spinning my short sword. "There's hail, people were slaughtered, a large behemoth of a wargod class machine is plowing through our borders like hotcakes. Now I have two grand masters on me. Joy."

She nodded towards me like an equal, "Valkyria Weissmerch, fellow practitioner of Moonlit Blade martial arts, though you have no chance, I hope you don't disappoint me as one of the Moonveil 8!" Her soundless vanishing act surprised greatly as the scythe nearly slices my head, "So she knows Rachel and the others too?!"

I slid back glaring at the intense flames and hot atmospheric change, "Wow‐we girlie. Burning Moon is not some greeting tool as a technique showcase." I start pondering how anyone would overcome one of master's divine principles?

"Burning Moon is used to slay gods y'know." It was unbelievable seeing somebody other our master or Lynn pull it off in real-time.

  "And?" She takes another stance.

We were supposed to take down another insurgent group and infiltrate, but these random people came from nowhere.. one is totally a seasoned swordmaster, the other is just some big move spammer press A' over and over until she kills me. "She even has the legendary sword Elysium.. is the knight queen being generous.....? Nope. Impossible. Unfathomable even."

My birth mother's pride wouldn't allow it.

I glanced at her with some consideration. "Division Commander?"

  "Yes."

  "Of?"

She rounded up. "Not for your ears boy."

Time felt slower, slowly, slowest? The familiarity of a gray filled world, our threads connected before Valkyria's next undetectable strike knocked my senses down from orbit, "How did!" An explosive bolt of spirit energy paralyzed me. It reminded me of master's vanishing lunar skill.. "Didn't think I'd encounter someone so advanced at our sword school's advanced movement."

"He lasted longer than most against the colonel, impressive. He even forced you old man into trying." Said an unfamiliar voice as I passed out.

I slowly opened my eyes, finding myself in dark, damp cell hours later. The air was thick with the smell of mold and decay. I was lying on a cold, sticky stone floor, with no memory of how I got there. My head was pounding, and I could feel a faint tingling sensation in my fingers. "Eww... Not my best hour, at least I survived against two grand masters.. go me!"

As I struggled to sit up, I saw Valkyria standing in the corner of the cell, her eyes gleaming in the faint light. She was surrounded by a halo of eerie, purple energy.

"You should have stayed out of this, Zephyr," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "You and your friends are no match for the people we've gathered. Rem miscalculated! Opposing us is-"

"Stop, stop stop. I don't care. Let me go."

Valkyria chuckled, her laughter like a cold wind. "Nothing much, just showing the country's government their new little neglected project, would lead into early deaths for the youthful pawns they sent into war. Say? Wouldn't it be nice if you were thrown under the bus to cover their asses?" She turned on the television and I was shocked to see me, June and some remaining survivors are instantly called traitors who abandoned everyone.

Damn it god, I said stop for a reason.

"What....? No way," I rolled my eyes in disbelief. "Surely Rem would speak up for us.. even if she's uselessly unsupportive like a lion, hold on. Where is June, where did you guys take her!" Now they had my attention.

Valkyria's expression turned cold and calculating. "Don't bother trying to find June or your pack of black puppies. They're no longer a concern. As for Rem, she's... taking a little nap. You see, she's not as powerful as she thought she was. Our... negotiations with her have been quite fruitful."

I felt a surge of anger and adrenaline at the mention of Rem's name. "What have you done to her?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady.

Valkyria smiled disgustingly sweet in checkmate.

"Oh, we took care of her. She's... indisposed, let's say. You'll have to deal with me now."

The television screen flickered to life, and I saw the image of the knight queen's face. She was speaking, her voice cold and menacing.

"Zephyr, you have been a thorn in our side for far too long before joining the military academy. Valkyria has offered you a deal. You will cooperate with her, and we will let you live. Refuse, and you will join the ranks of the traitors defying our ideals for twilight."

I felt a chill run down my spine as I stared at the TV screen. What was going on? How had Valkyria managed to capture Rem and June? And what did the knight queen have to do with it?

Valkyria's eyes seemed to bore into my soul, urging me to make a decision. I knew I had to think quickly, but my mind was racing with questions and doubts.

[Accept Her Offer Until I Find Optimal Ways Out.]

"Zephyr?" Valkyria's voice was like a knife cutting through the silence. "What is your answer?"

I took a deep breath, trying to clear my mind. I had to think about the situation Selenia, and the stakes were impossibly high.

[Just Do It! We're Boned Otherwise.]

"Mother," I choked out like immune compromising virus captured my lungs. "Are you serious? Who is this Valkyria chick, why abandon your own disciple, did Rem do something wrong? No... I understand, this is for that stupid man." I gritted my teeth thinking about my father who could only leave behind an unwelcomed name of Ashborne for his children.

"Little fool! Don't speak ill of his majesty the ashen king!" Valkyria held me by the throat.

"He is no king, Valkyria if that's your real name, only one person owns that title, and you're not Charlotte ." She kicked me into the dirty wall, stomping on me. "Don't compared me to an ugly identity complex bitch." She moves away allowing the knight queen to speak further, I clenching my stomach. "Touchy." I chuckled at her absurdity about a person she supposedly was better than.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

"Valkyria," The knight queen's voice halted her. "Let your brother go, he and the other siblings don't know our cause which doesn't matter now. As for why, Zephyrius, it's because they owe us in blood for stealing from our people!"

Gasping for air, I stabilize my composure. "Another older sister.. guess you never cared about us neglected children.. my younger sister would usually go hungry if me and my friends weren't working multiple jobs' you hag. Your people are the celestials, not ashen." I stood up adjusting to the dark room seeing June in chains and tortured in another cell, 'Mother' spoke before me. “She will die if you don't answer me properly this time.” Mother commanded. "In fact, forget it. Valkyria let him rot here."

"Yes Mother, leave it to me." The broadcast ended. She turned around and stared.

I had so many questions, but I knew I had to tread carefully.

"I... I'll cooperate," I managed to stammer, trying to keep my voice steady.

Valkyria's face relaxed, and she looked at me with a mixture of disappointment and curiosity. "Ah, Zephyr, you're not as clever as I thought. You're just a pawn, a tool to be used and discarded. But I suppose it's better than nothing."

  Is she projecting...

"Yeah sure you got me. Ahaha."

She leaned in closer, her eyes burning with an intense blue light. "You will do as I say, and in return, I will spare your life. Refuse, and... well, you can imagine the consequences."

I felt a shiver run down my spine as Valkyria's words dripped with menace. I knew I had to play along, at least for now. I had to keep June safe, and think of a way to escape.

[Keep it together Zephyr, your Star Energy is steadily regenerating.]

"Fine," I said, trying to sound as cooperative as possible. "What do you want me to do?"

Valkyria smiled, her eyes glinting with excitement. "Oh, I have a little job for you. You see, there's a certain... hidden artifact that we need. And I think you're just the person to get it for us."

She pulled out a small, intricately carved box from her pocket. "This is the key to our plan. And I think you'll find it... very tempting."

[( ??Д??) Oh my god! Zephyr Zephyr Zephyr! It's a imaginium core. Qwerty. Take it and we can rip them off, hell, I will grant you 10,000 exp.]

Just like that? You want to play ball now?

[(/▽\)? Huh? Haven't I always made sure the system was fair and balanced? Zephy you goof.]

You're more shameless than this narcissist before me.

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued despite myself. What was this core, and what did it have to do with anything.

All I or anyone else could do is ask questions.

"Okay," I said, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible. "What do I need to do?"

Valkyria's eyes glinted with excitement. "Just get me the sister artifact for this one," She held an opal ring. "And I'll make sure you get out of here alive. Go down the basement and head into the inner halls, turn right before the second junction, then say: Try me." She smirked, "Understand?"

I nodded, trying to keep my emotions in check. Heading down an old stairway hearing whispering winds, the stagnant halls had cobwebs, cracked tiles and stale blood splattered on the walls. The air was thick with the smell of decayand rot. There were eerie noises coming from the dark hallway ahead. I stopped at the first junction, "Help... Help us...." An evil spirit attacked, it missed me by a breath, "Take this! Oh yeah.. I don't have a sword. Nghaaaah." Malevolent winds pin me.

"Call me Zephyr!" Selenia's faint voice electrified me instinctively as her power nulled the evil energy, making me materialize that Halberd, "Let's finish this Selene!" Conjuring lightning orbs at my opponents. The spirit power crashed like heavy medicine balls. She says once more, "Thank goodness you had enough energy."

  I stared the screen

"20 Star Energy left!? Selene you rat!" I banged the halberd against an abandoned weapon rack.

"Hey! That hurt, handle me gently like a lady- waah! Stop hammering me!"

"Whew.. Relaxing. I couldn't feel any of my ki either, did you unblock whatever was preventing it?" I calmly hunch over a large empty room below us, waving away lingering iron dust. "Of course. We have a soul link ever since that day; me slumbering was finalizing everything. My artificial intelligence helped right? Man, I wanna go back to sleep."

"Not even close." I smile standing up again.

"Zephyr I sense an unusual presence."

I poke the door. "In here?" Through soul search an abyss dragged me deeply into an unnatural murky amalgamation of death and blacksmiths giving their all building countless unstable items, a cursed arsenal conceptualize: Rebirth

"Zephyr? Hello, hey hey." Selene vibrated.

"You have a vibrating function? That may be the only thing you coded properly, stupid." I poke fun at her, but that vision was someone's memory, an old history forgotten. "Similar to the mythology about the guy forging countless blades for perfection."

I wrote everything into my diary just in case—placing it back into storage.

Reaching that room Valkyria wanted there wasn't much space for moving around. A single desk like from one of those old western films, an ancient machine falling apart guarded, using an unusual energy gun, "State your business." Pointing it at me.

"Uh.... Try me? A cowboy theme droid-" As the words leave my mouth he fired his bullet quickly through my chest. Darkness overwhelmed me significantly taking over; bells chime as the surroundings showcase faceless beings dragging their bodies towards me who maneuvers over one, stabbing it, "Where am I?" Slanting my Halberd. The imaginium core glowed. "Oh cool."

More appeared frequently, I gasp for air; my head pounded as did my hand aching, "Huh....?" It was marked 00:33 seconds and counting down, the thing scared me. "Concentrate!" I change directions for an aerial swipe at each of the faceless beings. "The timer increased?!"

  [00:62]

A loud rumble startled them. I hold my weapon in anticipation of what's to come, watching an entity silently walk towards me menacingly.

"Another fool attempting their hand at taming my power, how pathetic are you humans believing in treating my kind as toys? Don't compare us to chew toys you named sacred." They trade blows with me. The hooded figure moved faster and faster, sharp punches, hard kicks, condensed spirit energy; I was sent flying towards an object already in ruins, dropping Selenia.

"I've been getting my butt handed to me so much lately! Am I cursed?" The last time I felt so hopeless was middle school. My teacher gave all the kids snacks except me, I received a basket of fruits and salted crackers...

"Miss Greenapple was biased I say! Biased!"

  [0:23]

"Oho? Still standing after all. You should count yourself lucky not dying right away," Illuminating the darkness, they fire an energy ray harshly, yet I called back Selenia. "Thunderball!" Countering using gravity balls; the blast sent us both flying.

"Are you kidding me!?" They yell. "How the hell did you counter that!"

Recovering from the blast, my body shivered from adrenaline, the time shifted to ten seconds, I stumbled and pondered on this situation.

"Good question and believe me, science shouldn't normally work in spiritual spaces at all, thanks theory 107 professor, now.. tell me who you are! What is this place and this stupid timer." I defeat the creepy ghosts again.

  [0:18]

I clicked my tongue at the timer. "Cheapskate.."

The entity sat on a pillar. She opened a box, took out an entire club sandwich, and ate. "An ignorant one is it? Fine. Let us talk, mortal. I will remove my curse from you, now speak, why are you here?" She drank something in her canister. Are all spirits like this? Not sure if you feel bad for those devout believers worshiping them or not..

"Because someone sent me here...? I died...? There's a woman named Valkyria who said she'd let me free if I retrieve the sister artifact of some opal ring." I laughed. "As if I believe her, this is just me buying time for solutions.. also, is that sandwich good?"

"Oh certainly! It's my favorite kind from the local sandwich place down the market street, they even give free refills for eight hours after your purchase. The divine network truly amuses me." She cleared her throat.

"So that wench wants my power yet again, hmph, sending those failures wasn't enough, now it's someone with high moon and heaven affinity, is this a threat? Hahaha! I accept her challenge, to hell with that opal' ring. Traitorous bastards like Elysium should die, Hm.. actually, you meet my condition, wanna sign a soul contract?"

I shake my head. "No freaking way! Who even are you? Nothing makes sense and- mmph?" The entity silences me. Their deathly eyes piercing my very being, Selenia vibrates until slipping from my hand.

"There is no such thing as names' ashen mortal, none in your world have ever wield me; avatars welded from resentment would love my strength. So in accordance to obtaining my everything; riches, power, soul core, regrets, potential. Name me!" They unveiled their hood revealing themself as a facial masked woman, she tosses an orange rubic block my way.

I held up the imaginium holding both using star resonance.

It was there, I understood the sorrowful days hidden within; withering loneliness and abandonment, none would succeed in using her soul core but me. This reminded me of how open Selene was when we met during a meteor shower after an amazing barbecue. Though one phrase comes to mind, "Imaginary Number 8." Eight? Possibility, infinity... "We all would like turning back the clock."

  Too bad nothing lasts forever.

"From today you be Rosemary," she knelt before me changing our surroundings into an expansive flower domain connecting to me and Selenia's moon domain. "Are dimensions twisting?"

Selenia rushed over, "Are you okay?! I lost communication, did something happen outside your body? Oh god what if she kills me for not looking after you?! Oh no! Not my paycheck!" Her calming voice made me feel at peace... Wait? Paycheck? I stared at her panicked expression until Rosemary interrupted. "So you did have another soul bond, that's interesting.. they're very rare after all."

The moon goddess stepped between us, "You must be imaginary arm of death." Selenia bowed. "What did you want from my partner? You didn't offend her Zephyrius? I don't have the funds for an apology yet."

  Yet?

  "Are you in debt?"

"N-not really, I'm paying student loans a-and it's not that high, I swear it won't in any way affect the system—ow, ow, ow! Stop pulling my cheeks Zephyr."

"Not at all! What the hell do you even mean!? For god sake, lady you're always making things up.. If anything, I should feel offended for your poorly paid system perks."

"Sit up child." Rosemary made Selenia stand and stared at me. "I am the imaginary number 8, a gunblade who conceptualizes death, and now you're my wielder like this broken Halberd of a woman."

Selenia's eyes furrowed, "Excuse me for being broken! You're not the one fighting for dear life! Paycheck to paycheck." She pouts.

I walk over shaking her hand; we talked for an hour before I woke up in the same room, now empty.

"My attire changed...? Is it because of the soul link?"

"Indeed Ashen mortal, your attire is representative of my concept of death! If only your divine-less heavenly partner here could grant you divinity, but alas such a person is broken." Rosemary said telepathically. I could hear Selenia cursing the imaginary entity. "We much to do young man, absolutely a handful of things. First? We will rescue your friend, second escape and don't fight that heathen, that's until you're much stronger! Got it?" She materialized as a gunblade in hand, her blade shimmers gold through these dark hallways.

"How would we? If Valkyria is obviously expecting that!" Selenia protested.

Rosemary clicked her tongue, "You've lost the right to comment on the current situation after failing your part as his partner!" Her voice carried fury. "You only have one ability from me for now Zephyr, it's called countdown, a skill enabled for blending with shadows, perfect for someone who has moon affinity and potential for moon law."

I shrugged, "How do you use it?" Rosemary shimmered. "Just use star resonance it activates without any costs... for now." She said devilishly.

  Holy cow. She's overpowered.

"What's up, why did you stop?" Selenia whispered gently.

"Marry me Rosemary." I held the dangerous DOT inflicting gunblade closely. "Let go! You're creeping me out." I smiled. "Good! For the first time the future doesn't seem hopeless."

Selenia threw a fit. "Don't say stuff like that out loud, my evaluation will tank, ah ah... he meant his life which would already be perfect became better when Rosemary joined! Aha.. ahahaha." She huffed. "Don't let my examiner know your feelings."

I rolled my eyes. What a drama queen.

As we walked down the corridor into the room I was held captive. My jaw dropped seeing Rem stepping on an indescribably beaten up Valkyria holding a dragonic blade, her hair now scarlet like Sunseti yet longer, combat boots matching a black dragon dress hugging her figure, a shining moon medallion. She glanced over her shoulder, "There you are, Highland. Where did you go exactly?"

  Hell.

"Ma'am...? Commander.. what happened to your right eye? And that's a long story," I rushed into June's cell quickly setting her mangled body free. "Ngh! Damn it. Selenia, could we use your moon power to heal her, theoretically speaking?"

Her voice rang in my head. "Yes we can, but you're not strong enough for it, you would die Zephyr. Becoming a wargod would instantly, though that's impossible.."

Rem sighed, "Use your blood. Have her drink your blood now, trust me."

Valkyria stood up and attacked her one-sided while the powerful dragoon stayed grounded, "Damn you! Damn you! Always getting in my way, Rem! You were definitely dead."

"Me? Or was that you," Valkyria's eyes widened as Rem dismembered an arm. "Wha- No.. I shouldn't lose in this life, Mother! Please, your daughter needs you!" A burly man crashed into Rem and picked Valkyria up on cue. He had malicious ki, "Hmph." He muttered blending into the peaking light above.

"Just Hmph?" I say sarcastically. "Commander, she drank my blood, so.. what would it do?" I held her up.

Brushing the dust off herself she picked up the opal ring containing a hint of imaginium, before answering as Rem does bluntly, "You're an Ashborne, a legit one who wasn't made into their puppet, correct? Didn't your old man teach you granting blood gives super regenerative properties? Now bring her, we will make our next move! Revenge."

"Revenge......? Against the government right? Isn't that impossible if my mother and people who are just as strong would be waiting for that move." I frowned.

She walked towards me. "Do you know why I became a teacher, head master of that school? Why I believe in strength above all, why I pushed you guys hard during training months ago? Answer me Highland." I didn't know how to comment, though the words escaped my mouth easily based all my experiences so far. "Because you're our country's illegitimate princess wanting power against your predetermined fate; you've lost faith years ago, cursed those who would harm your integrity. I'm guessing you wanted obedient pawns in us all, but Sunseti caught on at some point?"

She stared blankly, "And why is that?"

"Because the country's current military power wanes on accounting youth' and a child's vision'. Like most of the young generation even young adults, are children belonging to famous military families.. neglected by their family, elders and society's unlawful behavior as political agenda runs rampant, it'll be simpler giving them purpose, thus turning this country's weakness into an overwhelming political positive and combat power against the older generation's current machine gun approaches?"

"Zephyrius Highland. From here on I grant you the authority, on this official military badge as... dare I say it? Director of Secret Operations: tasked as leader of a regime built on unearthing the country's corruptions by forming a team." She handed me a badge engraved smoothly. "Operation Moonveil starts now."

I leaned against the pillar piecing things togetherholding my badge.

Rem already left us behind and a note for when I came to my senses again.

"I will head back as if nothing happened, don't answer anyone, never reveal my ambitions otherwise Aurelia's soul won't last a minute!" It turned into flames.

"Zephyr?" June came to. She hugged herself and trembled in fear, "Ahh.. w-where."

Kneeling down, coming closer for eye contact, I stare at her wounds being scars located on the stomach, legs and neck. "That's some crazy healing factor! Hot-damn. Ashborne blood can create some medical miracles on a person, are you seeing this Selenia?"

"Check the young lady's pulse for me and describe it thoroughly! Maybe we can sell miracle medicine"

"Are you really a goddess.. why are you obsessed with money.." Rosemary retorted.

I ran my hand through her forehead and held her wrist. "Slight fever, panting.. distressed? Her hands are cold too."

"My, my. The child has spirit deviation, her soul was damaged by something powerful. It could have been Valkyria's Elysium blade; I've seen the weapon in records long ago when all relics weren't scattered and given life." She hummed in thought.

"Okay, so what should I do?" I help a confused June walk.

"Nothing you can do," Rosemary replied bluntly. "You're a weak chicken worried about others when right now there's something more important than a brat at death's door."

I stopped, "And that would be?"

"Enemies you fool! Your mother's people, the traitors you've never identified, and we're not even in Glory City anymore! I have been down here for centuries, waiting, yearning, rejecting people who tried coveting after me, an imaginary arms. Ashen Human. You're the world's target now, in fact all of creation!"

  I believe you.

"You're pretty old alright if you think the world would be like it was centuries ago. No one would virtually come after me because it would not benefit their socioeconomic status. People these days care more about appearances than conquering dimensions lady. Now Selenia please continue."

"Oh my where was I, yes, you should become a star general class. Doing so will allow my healing abilities to fix her! I'll teach you the methods when you reach that level. You're a 2nd ranked right now, the more monsters or enemies you defeat, the more star energy will be converted into shards, these elevate power."

"Thank you! You're always so sweet Selenia. Even if you're a mentally unstable mess. Okay. How does the conversion rate go?" I smile.

She hums to life as if she's feeling useful for once. Which isn't wrong.

Nodding, I slowly take note of everything said.

  "Don't ignore me!" Rosemary fumes.

When I went back home the higher-ups under Rem's control were skeptical, but agreed of my recent promotion.

June is receiving intensive care all while our classmates are completely missing except Bella and Tyler who is also in Critical condition.
