The shadow dweller…and my magic. I just have to combine both of them.
As I thought that, I used my magic on the shadow dweller.
K-CHACK! WHIRRRRR-!
The shadow dweller didn’t just normally convert into a sword. Metal sheets cracked it open. It was glowing heavily, it was so bright that it made my eyes hurt.
A hilt started forming and the demon dweller started taking the form of a sword.
SHING!
As I held it, I could still feel the demon dweller inside of the sword but this time the device was fully activated in the form of a sword. That told me I could convert it back as well.
I had a new found power but the bones of my leg were broken. I couldn’t move anymore.
All hopes seemed to be lost.
Suddenly a voice came.
“Pacific…We have to work together!” Sayori said as she used her magic on me.
Sayori had finally controlled herself. She was still worried about me but she wasn’t completely devastated as before.
WHOOOOOOOOOM!
I felt a sudden violent jolt in my ribs. The pain made me wanna scream but I calmed myself down. Sayori had made me float with her powers.
FWOO-SLASH!
The golem swung at us again but this time with the help of Sayori, I managed to dodge it.
“Thanks Sayori, I owe you one.”
“It’s fine, the golem won’t let us just sit around, we need to do something about it.” Sayori moved around with high speed dodging and helped me dodge the attacks of the golem.
“Sayori, let’s combine both of our powers, help me get closer to the golem.”
“That’s going to be dangerous but it’s probably the only way right now.” Sayori tried to get closer to the golem.
ZOOOMP!
The golem started swinging repeatedly with high speed, we were surprised that it could move this fast despite being this big.
Sayori backed off, since getting closer would be too dangerous right now.
“What should we do, Pacific?”
“Just keep on dodging for now, I will think of something.”
Sayori nodded and kept on dodging the attacks.
The golem’s attacks were growing faster and faster making it difficult to dodge. It still had so much power and speed left. If nothing was done Sayori would get exhausted from dodging the golem’s attacks. Making us unable to move.
I tried to think of everything we could do to defeat the golem.
I tried focusing on the golems' attack pattern. How he moved, how fast he was going, everything.
Eventually I realized just one flaw on the golem.
After every 5 hits, the golem would stop just for a second long enough for us to attack. We had to use that to our advantage.
But getting close to him in that second was almost impossible. We needed a plan to get closer to him within that second.
We need to make use of every strength left. Suddenly my thought wandered to Sayori
Sayori was moving with extreme speed allowing the both of us to dodge his attack. Though her speed alone wasn’t enough to use the opportunity.
“Sayori! I know what we have to do.” I exclaimed to Sayori.
“Finally! What is the idea? Tell me fast I am getting tired. I can’t keep moving like this any longer.”
“It’s a reckless one but I need you to trust me.”
The plan would require extreme precision and speed but besides this we have no other chance to defeat the golem.
I explained the plan and the pattern of the golem to Sayori. Sayori was shocked at the plan but she agreed to it.

“You really are reckless as ever, Pacific but I hope you are ready for it. It’s going to hurt a lot, you know.”
“It’s fine, it’s better than dying isn’t it?”
“Yea, I guess you are right. Get ready then.”
I nodded as I clenched my sword tightly.
FWOOOOOOO!
Sayori prepared for the attack.
As the golem attacked five times. Sayori compressed all the air around me.
As the split second opportunity came.
FWOOSH!
Sayori launched me with extreme speed towards the golem.
I could feel the vibration that carried through the whole ruin from that launch. The ground was shaking violently. It was like it could collapse any second.
I could feel the pain throughout my body. It was really an agonizing pain but I toughed it out.
As I approached the golem I held my sword very tightly.
BZZZZZT!
Suddenly the color flooded throughout my body. I could feel it in my veins. Making my blood grow hotter and hotter. I wanted more of it. I knew I had to defeat this golem for the first step of my goal. Giving me extreme strength and I accelerated even more.
Z-BUMMMM!
As my greed grew stronger for color. The sword swelled, its proportion taking more and more space. It wasn’t just a sword any longer. It was a big, heavy, chunk of sharp metal. The greed in my blood made my heart hammer against my ribs.
It was really heavy. I almost started losing my grip but suddenly it started feeling really light.
It was Sayori. She was using her magic to help me hold my sword better.
I charged straight forward.
I swung with all my might.
VREEEEEE-BOOM!
As the sword made contact with the golem the air shrieked. It was as if it was cutting through the air. The swing felt like a displacement of reality.
KRA-KOOM
The armor of golem shattered. The debris shooted off into every direction. The sword fueled by the souls of me and Sayori didn’t stop there. It kept going.
SH-REEE-RIP!
The golem didn’t even have a chance to react. A spark fueled by our resolve tore off the golems upper body whole. The sound of its agonizing scream filled the room. Its scream sounded like the screech of pure metals grinding against each other.
Just as that final swing was completed. My whole body was exhausted. The colors in me slowly faded away and the sword also returned back to normal and turned into the device again. The colors in the room also faded away. Almost as it went back into the device.
I was about to collapse at high speed but luckily Sayori was there to catch me.
I was half unconscious. I could still feel the shaking of the ruins violently. Debris was falling everywhere without any warning.
Sayori kept moving through the ruins carrying me even though she was too exhausted to even move properly but she didn’t give up. She kept on going forward and forward.
Half way through I fell completely unconscious.
Next thing I knew I had opened my eyes at the hospital. Sayori was beside me leaning against my bed completely asleep.
My head got a very sharp pain and I let out a small scream.
Sayori suddenly jolted awake.
“P-Pacific? Are you okay? I thought I heard you scream just now.” Sayori looked into my eyes to look for any sign of distress.
“Yea, I am fine. Besides, what happened to us after defeating the golem? My memories are all fuzzy.”
“Well, I carried you outside barely making it out and I had collapsed just right in front of the entrance and apparently the screech of the golem was so loud that the villagers came to check in and found us outside and apparently carried us to the hospital.”
“Oh, we have to thank them for that.”
“Yea, we have to thank them. After all, they took care of us for the whole 4 days we were at the hospital.”
“Huh? Four days? It has already been that long?” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
“Yea, it has been four days. Well I woke up yesterday, though you were in an even worse condition than me, somehow your broken bones and ribs were healed perfectly.”
I knew exactly that it was because of the device that I got healed. After all, it has saved me multiple times already.
“We are really lucky that we made it out of there alive. Looks like we still have a long way to go.”
“You are right, Pacific… We have to get stronger. So, what’s our next plan?”
“Well I guess we should rest up for a few days and start moving onto the next area. We can’t really dwell in one place for too long.”
“You’re right.”
“Sayori, wanna go out for some fresh air. It feels really confined in this room.”
“Yea, let’s go outside.”
As we both opened the door to go outside for some fresh air. A swarm of people were cheering for us.
“You two saved our village from that terrifying monster.”
“We all are really grateful to us, please let’s hold you two a feast for your victory.”
“Those two are the heroes who defeated that terrifying golem.”
The whole village was grateful to us for defeating the golem. When they cheered on our name, for the first time I felt like I was accepted by the whole village.
Even if it wasn’t our village, it still made me really happy. I could almost shed tears of joy but I held them back.
“Sayori, I am not dreaming am I? Is this really happening? Have we finally been accepted?”
“You aren’t dreaming, Pacific. We did it. We got accepted by the people of this village, even if it wasn’t our village it still feels amazing.”
“Yea it does.”
The cheers filled all over the village. Both of us were really happy.
A man came besides us and introduced himself as the mayor.
“I am the mayor of the Sasmri village and I am really grateful to you both for defeating that golem. Many of our people were lost because of the golem. Please, I would like to thank you on behalf of the whole village. Let us hold a feast in celebration.”
Sayori and I said in the same voice. “Well, we can’t decline our offer and we had just done the right thing. It wasn’t that special but we will accept your offer.”
“Very well then, the feast will be held tonight, there’s still time so feel free to do whatever you two want.”
We both nodded excitedly. We couldn’t wait for tonight. We still had a lot of time left so we decided to do something till then.
Sayori and I took a walk around the village. Stopping from time to time to talk to the villagers. Honestly they were just showering us with praises, we tried to get them to stop because it was kind of embarrassing but it didn't work.
We both played around with the kids as well. We were just having a great time in the village.
As night fell and it got darker. We went to the area where the feast was being held.
Everyone was already there and welcomed us warmly. We looked around and the feast was almost like a festival.
There were fun games around, a large eating area filled with delicacies we hadn’t seen or tried yet, music was playing and people were dancing. Everyone was having a great time.
Sayori and I first ate lots and lots of food as if we were tryna make up for the meals missed for the 4 days, we then went to the game area and played a few games. Though Sayori won most of them, I did barely manage to win one.
We listened to the music and danced along though I wasn’t much of a dancer, I tried my best to dance. I tripped around here and there but had a lot of fun.
All these great moments made me feel really warm inside. I had never gotten to experience something like this at my village but now here I am with Sayori enjoying this night.
The night grew darker and darker as it grew late. We all decided to stop for now. The whole area was kind of a mess and since we were still feeling pretty energetic, we helped in cleaning the area.
Since there were a lot of people, the cleaning went fairly quick and it was pretty easy. It was the least we could do for the villagers now since they took good care of us for these past few days. I was really grateful to them.
After a long day of fun both of us started going back to the inn since we both got pretty exhausted.
“We had a lot of fun didn’t we, Pacific?”
“Yeah we did, I didn't want this night to end.”
“Same but I am sure we will get more opportunities like these later on.”
“You are right, Sayori.”
We both arrived at the inn and waved goodnight to each other as we went towards our rooms.
I couldn’t stop thinking about all the fun we had and how we have to get stronger in the future .
But all those thoughts quickly disappeared as I laid down on the bed, immediately falling asleep out of pure exhaustion.
