Chapter 3: Bubbles?

Bubbles at first wasn’t Chronos’ first idea, but it was meant to create a fog of war for everyone who were witnessing Davie clean Tyler’s desk. The machine that was being used to pump the bubbles was installed around the air vents.

“Ah yes, now all I have to do is increase the volume of it” laughed Chronos.

Chronos cranked up the bubble producing machine and soon enough, it began to shoot out bubbles. The bubbles at first were not getting through the air vents, but within seconds more did emerge. Thad could tell something was off as he could see the strange bubbles emerge. He didn’t know if it was poison gas of some sort.

“Um, are the air vents supposed to produce bubbles?” asked Thad.

Matthew used his jacket sleave to cover his mouth, also thinking the bubbles could be poison gas. Tyler luckily had a few masks on hand in case of emergencies. He handed one to everyone present.

“Let’s get to safety!” cried Gloria.

Gloria grabbed Davie, the little robot sat up on her shoulder as they made a run for it. But as they were heading towards the exit of the class, Carmal ended up slipping right on the floor landing quite hard on his back. Matthew paused seeing Carmal on the floor, Gloria could tell that the new janitor Samuel overdid his janitor duties at a time like this.

“Yes, it’s working, they’re stuck” thought Chronos.

Chronos glanced around and he could see confusion among the adults as they were doing their best not to slip and fall like Carmal did. Havana assisted her father in trying to get up.

“Uh, I think I broke something!” cried Carmal.

This was serious, he could feel the pain in his back as Havana tried to lift up her father. Matthew along with Thad assisted Havana.

“Okay, we just have to move slowly so that we don’t trip” said Matthew.

Gloria and the others did their best trying not to slip, but the bubbles that were growing in numbers began to surround them making it harder for them to see. This is exactly what Chronos was hoping for. Carmal was happy that people were helping him out of the room. Gloria thought she was in the clear as everyone got out of the classroom unaware of Chronos was sneaking up right on Davie.

“I guess we’re going to have to send a cleanup team on this one” laughed Gloria.

Gloria brushed it off, poor Chronos was just a few feet away when she moved. He knew he would have to try another way to get to Davie.

“That little robot’s mine” thought Chronos.

Chronos knew he would have to be more careful with his next scheme, Gloria felt it would be safer at the cafeteria instead. Davie could show off more of his abilities. As for Chronos, he began to follow them towards the cafeteria. He knew he would have to try some other scheme to get closer to Davie. So far, nobody had seen Samuel’s odd behavior as Chronos – the cafeteria would be more of a complicated place for Chronos to figure out what he wanted to do next.
