It has now been three months since Vegis got stuck here on the property. The scientist used to do a test on him everyday until 5 weeks ago where it was switched to getting a check up on him every week. That was a good change in Vegis’s opinion since it means that he would get stabbed a whole lot less. The critter sent into the hole had returned heavily injured and only told V4 that there was something wrong with the hole before dying from their injuries. Due to this, Vegis forbade the other animals he was connected to to not get near the hole. Some of the creatures didn’t follow his order and went in. They never returned and Vegis’s connection to them broke. As for the research on Corruption, there had not been much headway since while they could put external things into the force field, they couldn’t take anything out which would allow them to do a proper investigation into it. They were now using this place as a testing ground for what can harm the corruption without having to worry about it somehow retaliating which was a problem the people in the space quarantine zone were having since the group of corruption they had was gaining intelligence and attacking anything that was a perceived threat.
Vegis was getting sloppy with his personal hygiene so a small bit of stubble was growing on his face as he got up from his bed in the room he was provided. The restriction on his LSN
There were many things on the planet changing since this was the only system with a quarantine corruption population. Any other time they find it, they would immediately sterilize it to make sure it would not spread. After eating breakfast and cleaning himself up, Vegis headed out on his daily walk around the facility. During this walk, he would talk to the animals through V4 who do strolls through the property a lot more than Vegis. Vegis could feel that V4 has amassed a truly staggering amount of connections all around the place. Through this, they learned that the other animals could give V4 more connections if a connected animal hangs around unconnected ones for an extended period. This allowed a massive network of animals to be made that would send bits of information to Vegis and V4.

Vegis began to use this to contact some of his friends at the older labs since he just kinda disappeared out of nowhere. The first one Vegis managed to contact was Jess who was walking back through the fresh snow in the southern lab. When she went back to her room, Vegis had the critter write a message on the ice of her window. Vegis was impatient since the animal he was using wasn’t acclimated to the cold of the area so he had it peek at the window after writing the message. Jess was just done taking a shower when she heard the pecking. She turned to the window and saw, “Hi Jess, I am still alive” carved into the thin ice on her window while a bird-like creature slammed its beak into the window. She opened it and the animal hopped inside. Vegis walked into his closet and closed the door. He sat down and focused on the incredibly faint connection to the animal so far away from him. He concentrated as much mana he had inside of himself into an incredible fine string and shot it through the connection. The further it went, the weaker it became and by the time it reached half way to the bird, it was only holding a third of its original power. By the time it reached the critter from where Vegis was, it was like grains of sand being pelted at the bird.
Jess didn’t see much but did notice that mana was being accumulated into the bird. This continued for thirty minutes before something happened. The bird released mana from its mouth and letters began to spew from it. It would eventually form a sentence that said, “Jess, it's me, Vegis. Sorry for disappearing. I have been transferred to a new location so I will no longer work with you guys. This is the only way I am able to communicate with people outside of where I am so this will likely be the only message I can send for now”. When the last word left its mouth, the bird passed out and Vegis stopped focusing. He was drenched in sweat and got up unsteadily. He opened the door and stumbled out of the closet and onto his bed. He laid there for a couple of minutes before sleeping in the middle of the afternoon. The clones continued to work and Jess written down the message she just received. Her confusion was apparent all over her face but there was nothing she could do to fix it.
