Ch. 7 Hate

  SINS

  Chapter 7: Hate

The sun looked bright and white as it was traveling across the sky. The bright light brightening the color of the clouds above making them whiter. Along with breezy steady wind sending the clouds on their way. And a white figure standing above the clouds. With horns that matured like branches, white fur like the color of the clouds. Feathers sprouting two inches close to their back. And a menacing look, staring down the earth with pity, disgust, and anger.

Hunter stopped staring at the sky to not give his location away. [Damn! Where is he!?]

While Hunter was worrying about his next move, Hiro was on his knees staring at the floor. With the thought of the final moments of his dead comrade, remembering every single detail vividly. New tears bubbled on his eyes while the old ones are dragged down onto the edge of the chin.

“Hiro! Be careful… Right now… I don’t think we can make it out alive.”

  “huh…?”

“Long time ago… there was tribe that lived here. Their fate was set to be doomed since they were sick with an unknown disease that made their fur rot. They were well known because people back then were in disgust of them and didn’t want anything with them. Even though they were looked down at they believed that someday they would be saved by a thing called an ‘Angel.’ A being with wings and a circle crown.”

Hunter takes out a glass bottle with a clear liquid on it and inserted a velvet cloth from the entrance of it. “The angel would not be disgusted of them, but instead it would be kind as if it knew them for centuries. Well forget about that, a decade ago they were obliterated by a huge group of raiders. And that’s where they saw it, or at least it was rumored. The angel appeared out of thin air shining like a star… and bringing hell for the raiders. Now they say that this place is guarded by that same angel to keep the memories of the dead alive.”

He zips close his backpack and stands up with the bottle with cloth on his hand. “This is my guess… but right now we might be facing that same angel. And we don’t stand a chance. But…”

He looks at the bottle on his hand then at Hiro. “If we burn its wings, we could have a chance to beat it.”

“No, you can’t beat me.” Said the angel beside them.

It’s wings were spread and motionless. It was floating two feet above the ground and it looked at them with anger. Its menacing aura stiffing the air like concrete making it hard to breath for the two men looking at it.

“Call yourselves lucky to be personally killed by me”

“NNGH!” Without any hesitation, Hunter ignited the edge of the cloth and threw the bottle at the angel.

  |Crack, Clash!|

The bottle landed on the marble floor shattering with a million sparkling transparent stones. The clear liquid helped the fire grow bigger and spread out on the floor. But the angel was nowhere on sight.

The whole place was quiet, and the sky was full of clouds. “Let’s move!” said Hunter as he moved Henry onto his shoulder. Hiro followed behind him. His mind clouded with fear and guilt. He doesn’t know if he should feel scared of dying or sad for Arlo

They enter a room, the walls were cracked and there was an opening hole on one of the walls due to the two explosions from earlier. They leaned on the wall away from any opening that would be visible from the sky.

  |Step step| He got closer and closer to the hole. Seeing Hiro and Hunter from a far with their backs facing him he stops in his tract not making any noise. It got closer to them and his head popped out near Hiro’s shoulder.

  “There you are”

“AAAHHHHHH!” Hiro screams in fear, a tear jumping out of his eyes and with all his might he punches him on the face.

“AGH! WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?” said Arlo as he backed away from Hiro with his hands on his bloody nose. “Damn boy you hit hard…” He grunted with a tear growing on his right eye.

“AH-! AALOO!?” Hunter covers his mouth preventing any noise from escaping his lips. He points towards the sky where a pair of wings was sticking out of a cloud. “He hasn’t noticed us so we should be careful” he said.

“Is that a bird?” said Arlo with a brainless expression. Then he gets another fist on his head, hammering him down onto his knees. “No, you dumbass that’s the guardian!” said Hunter whispering, a glare appearing in his face. “I told you we shouldn’t have come here!”

“Hey! That hurts! And I’m not dumb!” “Good, maybe next time you’ll listen”

Hiro looks at Arlo in awe. “A- Aaloo…” Arlo looks at him with a questioned look. Hiro shakes his head and smiles warmly as tears flowed out of his eyes. “Don’t worry about me” he said with a smug. “I already told you. I am the greed devil for a reason. I won’t die until I get what I want” he said with a prideful look in his eyes.

“Alright then” he stands up and pulls up his loosed pants. “Lets go bird hunting”

  |SCREEEEEE| Hunter grabs Hiro and ducks down onto the floor

  |BOOM!|

Arlo’s body shreds along with the explosion his skin ripping apart and his blood boiling for a second. On the impact his body splatters all over the floor, blood and debris scattered in every direction.

“Ah-!” Hiro’s face turned pale. His eyes widen in horror, his mouth open and dry. And a lump of saliva stuck in the back of his throat preventing him from screaming.

“mmngh, wha-” Henry slowly opens his eyes waking up from the loud noises. The first thing that he saw was a brick falling directly at him “huh-?” |Bonk| then he was knocked out yet again.

The Angel floats inside the room, his face looking at Hiro with disgust “I found you roaches”

The blown off heart that was on the ground started rolling back into the hole. Everyone’s attention shifted in that direction as the blood in the walls began to melt, and skin came back from the ashes. The bodily fluids flowed back into place shaping back the organs, bones, muscle, and lastly skin and clothes. With a strong bite “HAHA, that hurt!” says Arlo with a murderous grin and steam levitating off his body.

He inhales and at the point of exhaling he was already swinging his sword at the back of the angel’s neck lining it up for a cleaner cut. The angel docks down at the attack seeing it coming. “Too slow” he said then he flew low grabbing Hiro and exiting from the opening, out to the sky.

  “AHHHH!!”

  “HIRO!!”

The air blew colder and colder as the angel escalated into the atmosphere. He stops twenty feet above the buildings now holding Hiro by the back collar of his shirt. “Bear, if you value this wolf so much then use your sword and rip the red one’s belly open. Or this white one falls.” “OH YEAH!? HOW WOULD I KNOW YOU’R NOT JUST BLUFFING!?”

The angel pulls Hiro back slightly and strikes him on his liver. His vision blurred the buildings and people from below. He holds the area with a paw, his brain hasn’t registered the pain completely but his lungs had tightened not allowing any breaths from going in. But once he felt some air flowing in he felt his body loosen, light as a feather now that he was falling onto his death. “Ah-”

Arlo’s speed is unimaginable, with each step cracking the floor beneath him carving his own footprints. He jumps into the air catching Hiro into his arms and falls down with a small impact. Hiro coughs up blood from the impact his brain registering all the pain taken.

“Sh*t! sorry…” Arlo lays him down slowly on the floor but was then grabbed by his shirt. It was Hiro trying to say something but he couldn't put it into words so he raises his fist at Arlo’s face. Arlo notices it and opens his hand to find something odd…

The angel extends his arms in a way that seems like pulling a bow. Then, a bright flash of light forms what looks to be a long bow then a feather swings in the middle.

  |SCREEEEE!| The angel fires his arrow making it’s way towards Arlo and Hiro.

  |BOOM|

Another mountain of smoke was born, this time the air blew a strong wind that uncovered the whole area. To which showed a hole in the white marble floor drilled into the dirt below it. But Arlo and Hiro were nowhere on sight. The angel clenched his fist, his eyebrows narrowed more than before. He thought

[It’s time to try something new]

The sun was right above him, casting a dark shadow over face. But that didn’t stop the underlings from feeling his rage erupting like a provoked volcano.

Arlo was looking up, hidden under a roof. Hiro peeked out, right behind him but his face was pushed back inside by Arlo’s big paw. “Stay inside, and don’t move from here you hear?” he said sounding serious. But he still insisted to look. “Hey! Didn’t you hear what I said?!” whispered Arlo with both hands grabbing his shoulders, his frowned and clenched jaw showed veins popping out telling him that he wasn’t playing.

Hiro couldn’t do anything but stare back with a small glare. [I also want to help!] is what he wanted to scream on the top of his lungs. But he couldn’t say it, no matter how much he tried to form words, his tongue wouldn’t side with him.

“Listen, I know what your thinking… But you almost died!” Hiro looked down his ears lied flat on his head. But Arlo shook his shoulders, bringing his attention back to him. “Right now, the only way for you to help us is by staying here hidden. So don’t come out!” Arlo let go of his shoulders and turned towards the angel without looking back.

[This feeling again…] he remembered when Hunter was in trouble against the monster with two colored eyes [Why am I feeling like this?] he recalled how he was being carried away as he saw Henry and Hunter fall back and fight the monsters. [Why am I so… so, so useless!] he sees Arlo step out into the light leaving him behind in a safe area. His lips bled a little from biting too hard and his heart ached as tears flowed down his eyes.

“HEY!” Arlo yelled, his earlier anger shifting into a smug. “Looking for me?”

Above him was the renaissance of an angel. He was staring down at Arlo with a long feather on his right hand. And hundreds more floating beside him, filling the sky with white spots that looked like stars.

“Sh*t, that’s nasty” smiled Arlo, a sweat fell down his cheek.
