She checked her squad again, and besides elevated heart rates, they were fine. With the occasional check backwards, she and her squad made it to their objective.

  She could hear the sound of a tank letting loose in the distance, but ignored it. She was the last to arive by a few seconds, and took survey as she arived.

  The road was an entry to the city, and had 2 roads, going diagonally left and right past their new position. Besides the side streets and alleys, it was a good area.

  She began to order her squad. "Derik, get the 62 to the side over there, Jen, help him. Vera, get the rifle up a bit, behind. The rest of you, get in position. Gerith, with me."

  She walked to where the other squad was set up, just a bit aways for spacing. She saw the squad Sargent and approached. "Status? We just got here." She asked.

  "Well, fronts moving from the outskirts to city proper, civies are still being evaced . Good news is were getting a tank to assist us. Bad news is were expecting contact before it comes. Anything of note?"

  "Scattered enemy forces in the side streets, got chased a bit. How are we on ammo and weapons?"

  "Well, we got a m62, and an 84 set up, we got a spanker as well, 6 GEN, 2 AA, 4 AT. We got 10 boxes of HMG and plenty for the rest. A scout hog is due for another ammo run here soon as well. We will split off some for ya."

  "Cheers mate. Have fun." She called out before leaving.

  "You as well Nivka! Don't lose that last leg!" He said before laughing. She just raised her middle finger before moving to her squad.

  "Our supplies Corporal?" She asked.

  "About what you'd expect. Most have 6 mags. The 62 has 4 mags full, with 1 about half drum. Dmr has 5 mags left."

  "Ok, when their squad gets us ammo, distribute it. Reload mags if you can, use spare Ma37 mags for the DMR if needed. How are we on grenades and the like?"

  "Frags are unused. Unerslung, a few were used, we have about 2 per trooper. Our Spanker has 4 of each."

  "Copy. Begin fortifying the front, and get, say, Carlo to watch the left, and get the machine gun to watch left." She ordered.

  "Yes sarge." He nods then gets to it. She scans the area, before reporting her squads status.

  "Squad 05 in position, grouped with 6. ETA on armor and resupply?"

  "5 minutes for supplies, armor in 12." A voice calls in her helmet.

  "Be advised enemy elements are in the side streets. That is all, out." She said, then checked her weapons. Her shotgun would be suboptimal for this, so she clamped it to her back. She checked her pistol next, then her knife.

  When that was done, she settled in to wait.
