Worshipful: My brethren since we have not had a minyan, we have not had a full accounting of the shekels over the summer. So purpose we do one of our sacred duties and give an account of the recondition of those who chesed and tzedakah to others or to ourselves.

  Worshipful: Secretary not that the oldest in the lodge has seconded the proposal. So by the raise of hands does everyone in between Agee. Those that disagree. Having all hands in agreement and none against we will proceed to the ceremony.

  Worshipful: My brethren what is a shekel.

  Brethren : It is a unit of measure

  Worshipful : What type of unit of measure ?

  Brethren respond in almost unison: it is a unit of weight.

  Eric: We use them to to recognize selfless service. So that we may recognize and remember there actions. By bringing record of their deed.

  Eric : Yes, worshipful I have had the pleasure to have experienced a great service for me. It would be a pleasure to record the persons name in our books of who I shared shekel.

  Worshipful: Then secretary and shesuper please join me at the shulkan . Remember brethren to bring the cards filled out with the information of those who you shared a shekel and the ones you have. We will start with the youngest. Since he seems eager and it’s his first time to record an event. The come up one at a time.

  After some time with the rest of the members back in there sits. The Sephardim looks up and says “it looks like we have a few candidates to start investigating. “ Although I know it has been an unusual summer, it looks like we have an interesting situation on our hands. One traded for for a different face on the shekel, one traded for an item pawned so the owner could claim the item when the next came in. We had one member receive a shekel back from a nonmember for rendering service.

  Murmurs can be heard though the lodge. No one ever expected to get one back that was not from a brother.

  Shesuper: yes you did worshipful, gentlemen please hold your comments until I finish my report.

  Shesuper: we have two who at the next reconciliation dinner will have fulfilled the requirement for the third medallion, if accepted our invitation we can schedule to put them up for a vote for membership into our organization.   After a few minutes the info cards are sorted and layer u into stacks according to the name on the cards. The whole lodge stared, looking at the stack that was more than expected.

  Would you mind telling the rest of the brethren how many cards are in the stack and there date range.

  There are nine, to the same name that were given over the summer. Just to note they all were given by different people.

  Shesuper, will the following brothers come up and verify you cards and the information.

  As the brothers look over the cards. There was a set of confusion on each of their faces. They all seem to agree it looks like they are looking at the same person. Although the wonder how they missed it.

  Shesuper: What say you brethren's. Are we saying that one has earned 9 shekels over the summer. If so how would the worshipful like to proceed.

  Worshipful: Secretary will you please bring me a copy of the bylaws. Will the junior past master and ritualist please join me to look over the bylaws. Historian will you look with the secretary to see if there is precedent for this event.

  After about 30 minutes, of looking through the bylaws. The worshipful looked up and asked. “Secatery and historian have you found anything.”

  Secatery: “Worshipful I am afraid that our records seem to be quite on this matter. We have no record of this event happening. That we missed a person getting the number of shekels to qualify to become a member. I am assuming we have rules in the bylaws that take this situation into account.

  Worshipful: I would have to say you are correct.

  Just then, a brother stands up and gives the proper sign to the worshipful, “Worshipful, it does not have to be resolved this evening. I think we are experience shock from the idea that we could miss someone collecting 9 shekels over the summer. Plus, we realize that is the count to to get all the medallions. To qualify for the the first ring. But, we do not just vet a person once. Worshipful please inform us on the qualifications required to get the second medallion. “

  Worshipful: “Good point brother. Out side of the collection of the Shekel. One has to show an understanding of the Ordis Amori. Also has shown understand and have adapted the practice of virtue /middot improvement. Also have finished high school“

  Worshipful: “Shesuper, does the cards verify his age”
