God Rivalry – Chapter 10: “The CEO of Fate”
It was almost 11:00 PM. Hirauka lay on his bed, half-dazed, scrolling through reels on his phone. His eyelids drooped, but his mind refused to rest.
Then, his phone rang — Yumi.
Hirauka: “Hello? Yumi… calling this late? What’s up?”
Yumi: “Nothing serious. I just… can’t sleep. Mom’s asleep, and Dad’s off somewhere with work again.”
Hirauka: “Same here. Can’t sleep either.”
Yumi: “Then let’s talk until we both pass out.”
Hirauka: chuckles “Ah… I usually don’t stay up this late.”
Yumi: “Oh really? Any raids lately?”
Hirauka: “Yeah, two — and one nearly cost me my life.”
Yumi: “You’re really strong, you know.”
Hirauka: grins “Tell me something I don’t know. But actually… something strange happened about an hour ago.”
Yumi: “Now you’ve got me curious. What happened?”
He told her everything — the diary, the healing dagger, and his unprecedented meeting with the Guardians of Space and Time.
Yumi: “Oh my god! You met the divine guardians of space and time?! And now you can contact them anytime? That’s insane!”
Hirauka: “You don’t know how it felt when I came back. I was like… what the heck just happened? I felt special for once.”

Yumi: “You are special, Hirauka. Someone with real strength… and purpose.”
They talked for hours, voices growing softer as sleep eventually pulled them into its embrace.
The Next Morning
Sunlight sneaked through the curtains. Hirauka lay sprawled on his bed, phone in hand, half-drooling on the pillow.
Hirauka: “Oh, hell no! I can’t be late today — I’ll be done for!”
A flurry of showering, dressing, toast, and teleportation later, he landed at the office, heart racing.
The elevator doors opened. He dashed to his cabin, unlocked the door… and froze.
Someone sat in his chair. Legs crossed, pen in hand, file on her lap.
???: “So… you think being ‘on time’ saves you from getting fired?”
Sweat dripped down his face.
Hirauka: “B-Boss?! I—I’m sorry! Please don’t fire me! I promise this won’t happen again!”
Her eyes flickered to the ring on his hand. A faint, unreadable smile appeared.
???: “Hmm… interesting ring. Come closer.”
Hirauka stepped forward cautiously.
Hirauka: “What’s this about, ma’am?”
???: “Show me your right hand.”
He obeyed. She examined the ring closely.
???: “I knew it… you’re a Raid Conqueror.”
Hirauka (shocked): “W-What? You too…?”
???: “Yes. Name’s Sayaka Shiba. CEO of this company… and a Raid Conqueror like you. Didn’t expect one of my employees to be part of that world.”
Hirauka: “Wow… this world really is full of coincidences.”
Sayaka: “We’ll talk later. For now, come to the meeting room.”
She walked away, leaving Hirauka standing — half-relieved, half-terrified. He dropped to the floor, rubbing his forehead.
Hirauka: “My boss… my partner in God Rivalry? What’s next, my mom a Demon General?”
Moments later, employees gathered in the meeting room.
Sayaka: “Alright everyone, listen up. I’m Sayaka Shiba — your CEO and the sole owner of this business empire. From now on, we’ll work together to expand it beyond limits. Main update: this Sunday, we’re flying to a private American island for a major business deal. Prepare all files, presentations… everything. Clear?”
Employees: “Yes, ma’am!”
Sayaka: “Good. Get to work.”
As the room emptied, Sayaka’s voice stopped Hirauka.
Sayaka: “Oh, Hirauka — one more thing.”
Hirauka: “Yes, ma’am?”
Sayaka (smirking): “Just wanted to have a word… with my new partner in God Rivalry.”
Hirauka froze, heartbeat thundering. Today, his world had just expanded again — the CEO of his company was now his ally… and a Raid Conqueror.
Hirauka (thinking, whispering to himself): “Alright… looks like work just became a lot more interesting… and dangerous.”
