Entry #12

  U.C.R. Gasing 03 Main Lab

  Sample Designation: Proto-Gel (Informal: "Space-purpi")

  Lead Researcher: M. Hermes (G-0205)

  Date: April 4th, 2132

  Observation Period: April 1st - April 4th, 2132

  Behavioral Change Alert:

Following cargo arrival on March 30th, the Proto-Gel sample has exhibited previously undocumented activity patterns. Sample, which had remained inert since initial collection, began demonstrating movement characteristics at approximately 0300 hours on April 1st.

  Movement Description:

  • Rhythmic pulsation within containment vessel

  •
  • Frequency: ~0.7 Hz (approximately 42 cycles per minute)

  •
  • Pattern consistency: Regular, uninterrupted

  •
  • Visual observation: Gel substance appears to contract/expand in coordinated waves

  •

Sample temperature remains stable at 18°C. Magnetic field emission has increased from baseline 0.3-0.7 microteslas to current range of 1.2-1.8 microteslas.

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

Causation Assessment: Temporal correlation between cargo arrival and behavioral change noted. No direct physical interaction between cargo container and Proto-Gel sample has occurred. Mechanism of influence unknown.

Recommend continued observation and updated containment protocols.

INCIDENT ADDENDUM - Assistant Researcher C. Morrison

April 3rd, 1847 hours: Research crew member violated containment protocol during sample observation. Individual made direct physical contact with Proto-Gel substance without protective gloves.

Subject transported to Medical Bay within 15 minutes of exposure. Initial symptoms: severe localized pain, discoloration of right hand (blue, progressing to black within 2 hours). Medical Officer diagnosed acute radiation poisoning localized to contact area.

Prognosis: Amputation likely required. Subject remains in Medical Bay under observation.

Containment breach has been sealed. Sample secured. All personnel reminded of Level 3 safety protocols.
