chapter 12 : Threshold of the Unknown

At that time, in the organization's headquarters, the mood among the survivors was grim. They were forced to carry out dull, monotonous missions like exploration. Occasionally, if luck favored them, they were sent to colonies to hunt monsters and cosmic creatures—for their skins, their energy, and, most

importantly, their food. Go40 returned from his latest mission, dragging behind him a massive creature known as the "Star Worm." Its body was biological, not

composed of energy like some of the other creatures they had harvested. Curious, he approached one of the robots and asked,: "Excuse me, strange robot?" The robot responded evenly, : "The name is not 'strange robot.' The name is GPS 4." Go40 blinked in confusion at the name. : "GPS 4? Alright… anyway, I have a question. What exactly is the use of this giant worm?" The robot explained matter-of-factly, "this worm is used to supply energy. Its biological material is also

extracted for food production." Go40 froze, his astonishment visible. : "Wait… what do you mean by biological mat… (shocked face)… Um? I—I apologize for asking. Can I just put it down here?" "Of course," the robot replied. "Your work here is done." Feeling a mix of disgust and unease, Go40 left the area, leaving the worm behind

Hours pass after this. All members of the organization gather at the place called the "Food Canteen." Everyone stands in line in front of the table, until it's go55's turn. A plate is presented to him containing a collection of moving organs, and in the middle of the plate is a small worm that barely moves.

go55 is bewildered by the sight of the food and says: ".....M...uh.....Wha.....What is this thing?"

The robot replies coldly : "This is fertilized worm, extracted directly from the Star Worm."

go55 looks at the plate with disgust and says : "...And... how is this called food?"

The robot tells him : "This is healthy protein food. Now eat!" and tosses the food at go55's face.

After this, he sits at the dining table next to three members. One of the members, named go19, begins complaining, saying : "What a miserable life we live! Not only can we not sleep since we got this stupid power, but we're forced to do stupid missions like going to colonies and eliminating disgusting creatures, for the purpose of... eating this thing?!"

go40 tells him indifferently : "Ever since I first heard about the 'biological materials' extracted from this worm, I knew we would eat something extremely disgusting... You know what? Maybe my life before this nonsense wasn't so bad. At least, yes, I had problems with my father after my mother died—he always

drank those things called alcohol and unnecessarily forced followers, I went to school to be described as 'the guy with the disgusting scar' because of the spot on my neck where that thing resembling a giant worm entered. But at least I was living my life, at least somewhat well, at least my relationship with my father was improving, at least I wasn't kidnapped to suddenly go to war just to die!"

go19 is surprised by his words and says: "And why are you telling me your life story anyway? I don't think this will change anything?"

go40 tells him sadly: "... I no longer even know what we're doing. Even if we escape, where? Where exactly would we go? I don't even have a single clue about the way back to my world or how I would return... I just miss my world, I miss my home, I miss... my father."

Everyone begins looking down at the table, remembering their old memories, their families, their friends, and that perhaps returning to their world is an impossible thing that cannot happen.

.....go28 : "Hospital, room 510, the stars are blue. Hospital, room 510, the stars are blue. Hospital, room 510, the stars are blue. Hospital, room 510, the stars are blue....."

go40 wonders and says: "What is he doing now?"

go19 replies: "I honestly don't know. Supposedly, after he was on the brink of death at the hands of that so-called 'Mad Devil,' he's trying to memorize the location of his world by any means. What I understood is that he has a sick mother who is dying....."

Everyone falls silent for a while, until go55 starts screaming as he stands on the table and says: "Enough! Must we suffer more than this?! Must we work to be enslaved?! Wrong! We are humans, we have feelings and emotions. No one has the right to tell us what to do or not! We didn't choose to be slaves to these evil ones! Maybe alone we aren't enough, but together! We can crush these evil ones and get out of this place by force! Who's with me?!"

Unfortunately, no one cared about go55's words, ignoring him as if nothing happened.

go55 sits down in frustration. go19 mocks him while smiling and says: "Honestly, I don't know what you were thinking? Except for us few, the rest don't care about returning at all. I mean, I don't know why you think this world is like a cartoon?"

go55 gets angry at the mockery and says: "At least in cartoons there is logic, hope, and not giving up. But here, everyone is hopeless to the point of surrender. This is truly a disgrace! And at least even in cartoons they have a better life than us! And...." (he holds the worm with disgust) "At least they have much better food than this thing?!"

But before he finishes his words, the worm appears to try to bite him, forcing go55 to throw it—except he throws the worm toward go15's face.

go55 is shocked and says: "Oops!"

go15 gets angry and advances toward go55, ready to punch him while gathering energy in his hand: "How dare you throw food in my face?!"

go55 panics and starts hiding behind go28. But before go15 lands his punch, go14 intervenes and immobilizes go15 using telekinesis, telling him: "Enough, go15. According to the rules, violence and fighting are not allowed in the organization."

However, go15 gets angry at his words and says: "And what will you do? I can easily get out and beat you all up!"

But before he finishes speaking, he is interrupted by the control system, which notifies that both go14 and go15 are summoned to goo1.

go15 holds back his anger, telling them they are very lucky.

go55 feels relieved, but then go15 throws the plate filled with worms and organs at go55's face, saying: "This is for the worm you threw at me!"

After that, both go14 and go15 arrive to goo1, who tells them the following:

"Due to the rest of the members being busy with exploration and expanding our organization's influence currently, your goal is to find both goo7 and go65 and bring them back to the organization. Specifically goo7, of course in case this stubborn one refuses, tell him to complete the mission that he will handle himself."

go14 wonders at this question and says: "Then why don't you send us to this mission instead of tiring yourself by bringing him?"

goo1 tells him that they already have a mission to accomplish after contacting goo7.

However, go15 tells him angrily: "You summoned us here just to bring people? Do I look like a mailman to you?!"

goo1 is disgusted by go15's words, but tells him: "If you do your job perfectly, I'll think about giving you meals of any type you want. So?"

go15: ".....Let's go, servant, to bring those clowns here."

go14 gets angry, saying he is not a servant, but goo1 tells go15 to wait in the waiting room, as he has an important statement for go14.

go15 listens to him while humming to himself that the time of the great lunch will come.

go14 wonders and says: "What exactly do you want to interrogate me now?"

goo1 tells him: "During our siege of doo9, I saw you hiding in one of the planet's remnants. Since you were there before us, this means you were watching the battle between goo7 and doo9. Now I'm curious: why didn't you help goo7 during the battle?"

go14 tenses at the question and replies: "And what did you want me to do? This stupid fat one refused to cooperate with me. And that devil, one blow from him was enough to kill us all. We barely survived because we used our strongest attacks on him at the beginning, but even that didn't affect him much. I tried to intervene to help goo7, but the energy was so intense that I felt like I was burning and suffering from the pressure. So all I could do was escape and watch, hoping to intervene at the right moment. But while I was watching the battle, something interesting happened."

This sparks goo1's curiosity and he asks: "Hmm, and what happened during the battle?"

go14 tells him: "Simply put, the devil who was laughing mockingly and killing everyone without mercy was suffering against that so-called goo7. To the point that his body was shaking from the pain. And strangely, even after this devil was throwing punches so intense that I felt like I was being crushed, goo7 was enduring these attacks easily, even absorbing this energy and throwing punches stronger than before. And even before you appeared, he was gathering strange energy from what his body absorbed from this devil, as if he was trying to form something. Of course, this doesn't mean he wasn't suffering; maybe if the battle had continued longer, he would have died. Anyway, that's all I saw in the end."

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

goo1 thanks him for this valuable information and tells him to go shortly with go15 for the mission.

At that time, Haru begins tracking the coordinates of the one called "Helixor" using a tracking device, eventually reaching a universe. But what surprises Haru is that, unlike what he was accustomed to seeing—thousands of cosmic matrices—only one remained.

As soon as he arrives at this strangely shaped galaxy, he finds that there are no planets at all, only stars hovering around the galaxy as if they are orbiting. Until he reaches a cold and dark planet, obscured by two suns that are being used as energy.

Haru arrives on the planet and finds that it is not illuminated with life. Various races and creatures of aliens live there, thriving despite the massive population density. They don't suffer from any problems at all, such as cold or hunger.

Haru tries to speak with the inhabitants to obtain information, but Haru begins to feel tense due to the enormous number of inhabitants. He restrains himself. "Pyro" appears to Haru and says:

"Master, you shouldn't tire yourself to this extent. Perhaps we, the shadows, can search for the location of the one called Helixor instead of you, my young master."

Haru agrees and sends some shadows throughout different parts of the planet, until he obtains information about the existence of the main place called the "Central Point," which is named after the planet itself, "Oriana."

Haru heads to the location, but as soon as he tries to enter, he is intercepted by one of the guards called the "Star Guardian." He tells the boy that this place is not permitted for entry except for the elite.

But before he finishes his words, he notices that the child has a strange appearance and wears strange black clothing. The alien extends his hands toward Haru, but Haru instinctively punches the alien with force, destroying a large part of the main facility.

Haru enters the place and is surrounded by the facility's guards, but Haru doesn't care. Before the guards attack, one of the high-ranking officials in this place intervenes. The official tells him, annoyed:

"You have destroyed a large part of the facility and caused massive losses, and you should be arrested. But my master, because he is generous, has decided to allow you to meet him."

The official tells him to follow him if he wishes to see his master. Haru enters and begins walking around, looking at a place colored like wood, with trees everywhere.

The official tells him: "After the purge campaign that the Emperor launched against the cosmic capsules to reduce the population and make his rule much easier, my master managed to preserve these rare things called 'trees'—something that beings like you cannot even dream of."

Haru is surprised by this statement, given that trees exist in abundance in any universe, realizing that this world is strangely isolated.

After this, the gate opens, and waiting for him is Helixor himself, along with his hordes of elite guards.

Helixor is surprised by Haru's appearance and says:

  "A child.... a human?"

But Haru doesn't care. He calmly advances toward Helixor's office. One of the elite guards feels angry and draws his plasma-made sword, placing it against Haru's neck, but Haru grabs the plasma sword and destroys it.

Helixor understands that he is dealing with something unusual. A "destroyer of physics logic" entirely—completely different from the humans who were slaughtered at the hands of the Emperor.

Helixor doesn't waste time and asks directly: "What has brought an entity with such power here?"

Haru tells him that he has a connection to the entity called "Xalion," or more precisely, his assistant. This so-called Xalion caused massive losses to Haru's company, and someone must pay the price.

Helixor realizes that this matter will not pass peacefully. He thinks and rules out the idea of direct confrontation because he would die. Helixor changes his tone and says:

"I apologize on behalf of this traitor who participated in the damages inflicted upon your company. It seems my former rival Xalion has crossed boundaries far too much and overstepped the red line."

Haru asks him coldly: "Did you say traitor?"

Helixor replies calmly: "Certainly. The truth is, I was also deceived by my trusted assistant 'Varkis.' He was just a poor man on my planet who collected garbage to sell. He had no one for him. Miserable and poor, he needed work to survive. Those were his excuses to work with me. I was too kind and allowed him to work freely. I won't deny that his work was excellent, to the point that I promoted him to the rank of officer in charge of information and product archives. But one day, after the disappearance of the Emperor and his army, the conflict between me and Xalion intensified. Information was stolen from my products and archives, causing massive losses to me as well. It turned out that the cause was this traitor Varkis! Who joined Xalion and escaped with him, leaving my company on the verge of bankruptcy. I barely managed to control the situation and rebuild my empire once again. So, what happened to Xalion and his assistant?"

Haru tells him that Xalion and his army have died, but his assistant has indeed escaped.

Helixor rejoices greatly upon hearing of Xalion's death, but he hides this joy inside and says:

"So, since this Varkis has harmed you as well, then you and I share a common goal—this traitor who damaged our business affairs."

Helixor offers Haru a device resembling a syringe, containing a DNA sample from Varkis. Haru takes the device, but he notices beside the tracker needle-like device, there is a green substance. Haru understands that this needle is not just a tracking device, but is also used for healing.

Helixor tells him happily: "I believe we can make our relationship strong for the future of our business, you and I. What do you think?"

Haru tells him that he does not trust him. Although there is no reason to kill him, he still suspects him, claiming that there is something questionable about his dealings.

And Haru leaves, leaving Helixor wary of this dangerous entity.

Haru exits the Central Point carrying the tracking device. Bavris appears and chides his master, saying:

"I don't want to insult you, my young master, but I must be honest with you: you are very bad at dealing with people, especially when you're in the middle of a crowd of humans. You need to learn how to interact with beings properly."

Pyro gets angry and also emerges from Haru's body, saying:

"Your advice is meaningless, sir. The problem is related to psychological issues, not social interaction. Also, since when were you ever a philosopher and advisor anyway?"

Bavris replies proudly, raising his arms: "I have always been a philosopher!"

Pyro: "........" (a disgusted look) "You have always been ignorant and stupid, knowing nothing at all."

Bavris gets angry, and the two begin arguing, until Haru orders them to stop. He has located the coordinates for the place of the one called "Varkis." Haru leaves the galaxy after this.

Haru continues his journey across the universes, and while he is holding the tracking device, he grips his head tightly from intense pain. Haru doesn't understand the source of the pain and doesn't notice any problem with his body, but he continues until he reaches the coordinates location: it's planet Earth, a world similar to his own.

But while Haru is checking the device, he finds that the coordinates location has lost its trace. Haru doesn't care and descends to the location. The coordinates pinpoint the place in Japan. Haru lands quietly in the middle of the city, watching people move around. He notices that the place is similar to his world, yet different. The culture of the people in Japan has been preserved, unlike in his world.

But before he can complete his search, time suddenly stops. Haru notices that everything has frozen. Out of nowhere, a strange-shaped creature appears, pale in color, blood dripping from its eyes, tall in stature, with a face resembling a human but its body completely deformed.

The monster advances through the crowd, and before it begins to devour them, its body starts to shrink. The monster turns around and finds nothing strange—except for a child staring at it. The monster is confused; time was supposed to have been stopped

The monster moves left and right toward the child, but the child keeps staring without pause or blink. The monster begins to feel uneasy and disgusted and prepares to confront Haru. But before it can attack Haru, the monster starts to feel fear. As soon as it turns around it finds a girl wearing black clothes, with black hair and red eyes. The girl grasps her sword and draws it, and flames erupt from her blade.

The monster feels angry and charges with all its strength toward the girl, but the girl easily dodges the attack and cuts off its arm. The monster begins to realize it's dealing with its worst enemy.

The monster covers itself with strange energy, changing its tactics, trying to target the head and legs, but she dodges the attacks with agility. The monster accelerates its assault and tries to eat people, but the girl stops it and activates her power, cutting the monster in half—yet the monster survives.

It unleashes all its power toward her. The girl is surprised and tries to block all the attacks, but the monster pushes her away, attacking anyone in an attempt to regain its power and regenerate—but it makes the biggest mistake of its life. The person it's targeting is Haru.

The monster unleashes all its power and speed toward Haru, but Haru, at the speed of light, punches the monster, erasing it from existence.

After this, Haru waits a while for things to return to normal, but he notices the world is still frozen. In that moment, the mysterious girl appears and points her flaming sword at Haru's face, saying in astonishment:

"What are you? And how did you kill the Yokai without Hama?!"

But before she can finish her words, Pyro appears and attacks her. The girl blocks the strike at the last moment, deflecting him. The girl stabilizes herself by stabbing her sword into the ground, but from behind, Krunchy appears and attacks her, trying to stomp on her with his feet.

The girl dodges the attack and strikes Krunchy, but the sword has absolutely no effect on Krunchy. Krunchy begins to feel disappointed, saying: "How disappointing! Is this the power of humans?"

Krunchy moves his fist and at the speed of light, strikes the girl, shattering her limbs completely. The girl is flung toward a random building. She gets up and tries to resist, but out of nowhere Krunchy appears, trying to crush her face—yet the girl dodges the attack and activates her sword, destroying half the building, but this is nothing compared to Krunchy, who kicks her onto the rooftop.

The girl begins to rise as Krunchy appears. The battle between them continues, both trying not to harm people, until Krunchy rushes and accidentally directs his punch toward a civilian. Krunchy manages to stop the attack, but the air pressure from his punch shatters the civilian's face.

The girl seizes the opportunity and tries to attack him from behind, but Krunchy, indifferently, kicks her from behind, launching her once again onto the rooftop.

From among the rubble The girl struggles to rise, feeling pain and exhaustion.

Before she can think, Bavris appears, saying : "Hmm? Physicists and logicians... impossible for anyone to survive this type of attack."

The girl is surprised and attacks Bavris, but Bavris grabs a metal staff and blocks the sword easily. The girl is shocked, and Bavris attacks, directing the blow toward her face. The girl tries to defend, but the metal staff bypasses the sword and strikes her face.

The girl tries to get up, but Bavris pushes the sword aside and begins beating her mercilessly, laughing hysterically. Before he can kill her, Pyro appears, striking toward Bavris.

Bavris gets angry and says to him furiously: "Who do you think you are?!"

Pyro tells him that the girl didn't intend to kill their master, so they shouldn't kill her. But Bavris gets angry and says : "Listen, soft-hearted one, there's no such thing as mercy in my dictionary. The only law I know is killing!"

The two begin arguing. The girl tries to retrieve her sword, but Krunchy intervenes, pinning her down and crushing her. Yet the girl uses the last of her remaining power and destroys the ground, escaping from Krunchy.

But the shadows gather around her. Before the shadows can attack, Haru appears and orders everyone to stop. Haru asks the girl, saying coldly: "Why did you draw your sword toward my face?"

But the girl doesn't reply, realizing that what stands before her is something impossible to confront. She stabs the ground with her sword, activating a massive explosion in hopes of escaping.

Bavris gets angry and asks him furiously: "Great! Now why did you let her go?!"

Haru tells him it's not important, and the priority is finding that so-called "Varkis."

After this, the world returns to normal, hearing a man screaming in pain.
