Sure enough, exiting her childhood bedroom Elizabeth got hit with the smell of breakfast, the fact that she was getting out of her bedroom with a hot girl in hand did not got over her head, she would enjoy doing exciting things with her girlfriends on that bedroom soon enough.
And perhaps in her parent's bedroom…It would be Divine Justice, her Mother was very…enthusiastic with her more…moved nights after all. Elizabeth had a very good sound isolation in her bedroom for that reason.
Walking down into the lower level and into the dining room, Elizabeth found the usual table already filled with food. She had noticed that there weren't shadow dragons helping with the servings.
Had Rossie finished ordering them already?
"There you are, I thought you two had more fun together after leaving me to sleep alone," Rossie said with puffed cheeks, cute.
"Sorry about that, I was making sure Rena here knew to always sleep either with you or me, or both of us," Elizabeth said, sitting on the chair that Rossie had prepared for her.
How did Elizabeth know that Rossie prepared that for her? Because the pink-haired girl had set up three cups of juice of different color.
A pink one that had what seemed to be coffee, a red one that seemed to house apple juice, and finally, a yellow one with orange juice.
Obiously the yellow on the middle, so that is where Elizabeth sat down.
"Thank you for the breakfast Rossie." Elizabeth said as she sat down and looked at the feast in front.
"Thank you for…fulfilling my selfish wish…Even after what she did…" Rossie started.
"No." Elizabeth said in one go, resulting in a stunned look in both Rossie and Rena, "Nothing of that, what I did. I did it also for myself, if we are to fulfill your wish and Beatrice's wish, then she will be more to me too…So that was also for myself, so nothing about this being about you anymore."
Elizabeth would not allow it, no sir.
"...thank you." Rossie however didn't get the memo and said that anyway.
Rude, imagine ignoring someone's selfish wishes. So absolutely cut- I mean, Rude!
"So? That was not all you wanted to speak about, right?" Elizabeth decided to move the topic ahead, she still needed time to internalize what they would do.
Bringing Beatrice back…the idea of becoming the Mother of one of her Minions…yeah, that would need some time to think about.
“No…I…Honestly want to kill, burn, mutilate and ground the Soul of all the little bitches that dared to even think about going against you." Rossie said, crushing on her cute, adorable, and lovely (and delicate) hands the fork that she was using. “But…seeing them…I…I can't. They look too much like you, too much like Beatrice…I…am I wrong?"
"They do indeed deserve death." Rena chimed from the side, that had been a surprise, usually Rena just nodded and accepted whatever Rossie or Elizabeth were speaking about, "They went against the one who gave them life, the source of what they were born. Chances are that if they had achieved their goal, they would have killed both their World and their creator."
That…Elizabeth hadn't thought about that.
"Mordred." Elizabeth said aloud, summoning her newest addition to the Shadow Haven.
"Yes Mistress?" The black-haired girl materialized from the shadows, walking from a portal that formed in one of the walls behind Elizabeth, so dramatic. "What can I do for you? Or Queen Rossaline and Queen Rena?”
Queen?
Shouldn't she be the Queen here? I mean…it was…a very good image, the one that this naming evoked.
"Ajam…" Elizabeth coughed into her hand to refocus, "What would have happened if the Valkyrie Order had killed me?"
"Hmm….What would happen if they managed to commit Regicide?" Mordred said stoping to think for a few seconds, "The stability of the realm would have broken, he plane would then be assimilated in the best case releasing the inhabitants as rabbid monsters upon the closest planes. Each with the sole mission of resurrecting you back, no matter how much it cost."
….what?
"And afterward? Would they have managed to revive Eli-Eli?" Rossie asked, wait a goddamned second! There was a more important problem here!
"Of course, not immediately. And what would revive would probably be not her, since Mistress Soul would probably be either corrupted by Pride or, in the best case scenario, be sublimated in the Dragon Slayers." Mordred answered.
"Why would it be sublimated into them? They want nothing from Eli." Rena chimed from the side.
"What gives a Dragon Slayer their power is the Soul of the Dragon they slay, so what would be resurrected would either be mad, or corrupted till it picked up on its soul fragments. That is why it was a flawed plan from the beginning. My predecessor probably only cared for the survival of Queen Rossaline and nothing else." Mordred answered, well, at least that was something Elizabeth could get behind.
"I see…What do you think about…the Valkyrie Order?" Rossie asked in a small voice.
"I don't care about them, they can either work for our Terra Nexus or not. So long they aren't a threat to Mistress, what they do, or how they do it is inconsequential. They have no chance of hurting Mistress anymore." Mordred shrugged. Shouldn't she be more worried about Elizabeth? "So Queen Rossaline, who you accept as vassals is up to you. Unlike Queen Rena you aren't a battle Queen, having your own Order is acceptable."
And with those words, Mordred disappeared.
Wait, having her own Order? Was…
"...I… would like to keep them." Rossie ended up saying. "I want to keep the Valkyrie Order around, they will serve under us as penitence, and then…when Beatrice returns…They will serve once more as guards to our daughter."
Now…how to answer that…
To be honest, Elizabeth didn't have as many qualms about the Valkyrie order; she ought to have them, of course.
Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.
But then again, she could understand why, she had done…terrible things, she wasn't very sure about what, but as soon as she had settled down and let her mind and body rest, she had got some…flashes about what she had done.
No memories, not really, more like impressions.
Impressions of herself sleeping, gorging on food, touching herself using feeding tubes…WHY FEEDING TUBES?!?!?!?
And a few memories of herself indulging in the pleasures of the flesh using Doppelgangers that had been…interesting.
But that wasn't the worst of them, no. The worst memory had been a brief flash of Aura without clothes, her hands tied up, a challenging smirk on her face, and a faint trace of fear in her eyes.
She had the impression that such a look made her angry, and the memory ended after that; she wasn't sure what she had done to the purple-haired girl or why she had decided to stick with her after that.
She had hoped that nothing serious had happened, till she remembered the fact that Aura had said that during that period of time, she had confirmed the fact that there was no 'spark' between the two.
How had she confirmed that? She didn't want to know.
"...I…Guess it's fine?" Elizabeth decided to answer that with a sigh, "I should really not accept; everything I know about them tells me that I shouldn't; hell, anyone who saw this from the outside would probably say the same."
And Elizabeth was sure that maybe there was a better way to do this, maybe bind them to her will, she could probably use her [Soul Gem] to do that.
"But there must be rules," Rena said from the side, her voice making sure that Elizabeth buried the thought of twisting their Soul to her whims away, "They must know to not raise their hand against Elizabeth again."
"I spoke with them yesterday before sleeping," Rossie said raising her hand, "No matter how I worded it, or what I asked them, they wouldn't promise me to never hurt Elizabeth."
"That is fine," Elizabeth decided to say before Rena or Rossie could add anything else, "I want them to remain as your servants above all. They should prioritize you above all, like what I wanted from the Royal Guard originally."
And really, she half expected the Royal Guards that had been assigned to Rossie to pop up and complain, but alas, they did nothing.
"...But I'm not fine with that!" Rossie said from the side, almost screaming at that, "I love you…how could I allow them to hurt you! They should also protect you! You are important to me!"
And that was cute.
"Rossie, love of my life." Elizabeth said standing up and walking behind Rossie to hug her, "Will they protect you from me if I ever turn feral?"
“...*sniff* yes…” Rossie answered, "But you would never hurt me! Not without a reason! If you ever attempted to hurt me, it would be because I deserved it!"
"No Rossie, there is no valid reason for me to hurt you, but if you don't have them and I attempt to hurt you, the Royal Guard will not stop me," Elizabeth said snapping her fingers and summoning some of the Royal Guards that stood within Rossie's shadow. "Answer, if I decided to attack Rossie, would you stop me? Do not lie."
And for good measure Elizabeth used part of her Domain over her Shadows to make sure the answer was truthful, not that a Minion would ever lie to her.
"No, if you decided that Lady Rossaline is no longer worth protection or living, we would attack too. Should you decide that she deserves punishment, we would provide the means too." The Royal Guard stated, and with that Elizabeth dismissed him, lest she decides to obliterate his Soul.
"See?" Elizabeth said, attempting very hard to not feel disgusted at her own Minions, "And what would have happened if we asked one of the Valkyries?"
Rossie sniffed again but snapped her fingers nonetheless; from beside them, a golden portal manifested, and a little girl walked out from within.
"We are at your orders, Mistress Rossaline," The little girl said, first bowing to Rossie and then merely eyeing Rena, who received a nod, and Elizabeth, who only got a brief glance.
At least they weren't glaring at her anymore.
"Please answer honestly Eli-Eli's questions…and be nice," Rossie said, the Valkyrie sighed and nodded.
"We are at your…service Lady Elizabeth," the Valkyrie said doing a small curtsy to Elizabeth, "This unworthy one is called Sigrun, the current leader of the Valkyrie Order tasked with the protection and safeguarding of the Future Goddess of Life."
The what now?
Was…was Rossie also walking the path of divinity? She did like to use Golden tinged mana…
"?" Rossie just turned her head to the side cutely, but Elizabeth couldn't perceive any obvious hint of Divinity from Rossaline.
"Okay, let's discuss that later. For now… should I attack Rossie, what would the Valkyrie Order do?" Elizabeth decided to ask this first.
"We would deploy the Valkyrie Order in full strength and any Minion that we could command, deploy delaying tactics while we relocate our liege to a safe place, then verify the state of the hostile and decide on our next order of business after making sure Mistress Rena is also safe." Sigrun answered without thinking too much.
That was…quite the complete plan of action?
"...How many situations do you have like that?" Elizabeth decided to ask.
"That is not for you to know Lady Elizabeth, know that we are fully prepared to react and act depending of what type of strategy any hostile force decides to employ. And while we are better suited to some scenarios…" Sigrun said placing her hand atop her weapon, Elizabeth noted that the weapon had the emblem of a dragon…One with a sword on its head… "We are fully capable of dealing with most other scenarios too."
Cheeky girl…
"That is good enough, I don't mind you protecting Rossie, and I know why you are so adamant about that, but why are you also willing to extend your umbrella to Rena?" Elizabeth asked, "Don't get me wrong, I am thankful for that. But…Beatrice never cared that much about her, as far as I know."
"Because Mistress Rossaline needs someone to soothe her heart should you decide to discard her, and Mistress Rena has shown enough romantic interest in her to fulfill that role," Sigrun answered, Rena almost chocked at the back at that answer and Rossie's face turned a cute tone of red.
"I see, thank you for answering." Elizabeth nodded with a smile on her face, this was good.
The fact that Rossie and Rena also loved each other was good; at least that meant that they weren't indulging in Elizabeth's decisions, which had always been a fear of Elizabeth. That Rena and Rossie didn't like each other and only tolerated each other because Elizabeth wanted both of them.
But the fact that she had confirmation that there was something going between them? That meant that this wasn't a situation of one person loving two, but a situation of three people loving each other.
"Amm….Eli-Eli? Will that be good enough?" Rossie said raising her hand cutely.
"Yes, like I said. I don't mind them hanging around, if anything I'll attempt to either get some of my Shadow Dragons to follow their orders or get you some Minions of your own." Elizabeth nodded at the idea.
"That will be quite all right, no Shadow Dragon would be good match to us Dragon Slayers." Sigrun said, raising her hand, "On the other hand, any Minion made by our Mistress Mana will probably be a better match for us."
Their Mistress Mana?
"Like the Fire Salamanders that are subservient to Mistress Rena first and secondly to you Lady Elizabeth," Sigrun added.
So Tiffany was more loyal to Rena? Elizabeth hadn't perceived it like that…
Was it because Rena was that kind of person? The kind of gave herself and everything she had to others? Elizabeth would need to start pampering Rena more to make her someone who would think more about herself.
This was hard, she now had two girls who she needed to pamper to hell and back to make sure they understood how much they mattered.
"I see…" Elizabeth said that while thinking, she may need to start searching more seriously what to combine Rossie's Lust with.
"Be sure you do, Lady Elizabeth," Sigrun said, nodding after Elizabeth. "The Valkyrie Order no longer sees you as an imminent threat, but we will continue our vigil. You are the prime reason for any suffering Mistress Rossie could be a victim of, so in turn, it is our God-given duty to protect her from you."
…Elizabeth couldn't even complain about that. Since it was truth.
"Just… don't poke at me with any weapons unless I actually deserve it. Whatever comes next we can get after knowing each other?" Elizabeth said, unsure about what to do. She was not used to a sassy minion like this.
"We shall see, we will take our leave Mistress. We will be ready to come to your aid should you summon us. Be it to prepare food, do chores, or eliminate anything, we are at your beck and call." Sigrun said before sinking into that weird golden portal once more.
"Why aren't they using shadows?" Elizabeth said aloud after Sigrun sank completely.
"She said that they would start using other types of mana, they are affected by your Soulscape, and as soon as you started using more diverse Mana types they started having a harder time moving around." Rossie answered, "Skuld was sure you were doing that on purpose to annoy them."
At that Rossie actually giggled, Elizabeth hoped that Aura was taking pictures…
"Anyway, thank you for…letting them go. I know you could have destroyed them and made them anew…One of them actually warned me that you could offer that, and that should you offer that, I needed to summon them to run away." Rossie said sheepishly, "Why was this creature so cute?!?!?"
No, wait, that was an option?
"I would never do that," Elizabeth said after realizing what that implied. Doing that would mean going against everything I believe, lowering myself to the same standards that Akira and Ethan did, twisting someone into something that is more convenient for me."
She didn't want that, to twist someone else into being subservient? No, never. She wouldn't stand to do that, even if doing that would make everything more easy. It was wrong.
"We know that you wouldn't do it for the wrong reasons Eli-Eli." Rossie said with confidence, "But if they don't work with us...If they don't work well with you, that will always be an option. I know Beatrice would understand."
"...I...Don't think that is right," Rena said from the side, managing to get a surprise reaction from Rossie, "I...I don't want Eli to toy with someone's Soul. I didn't...I didn't liked very much what Akira did to me, and even after he twisted me into his toy, I was still aware deep down of what was being done to me. It got to the point that I thought that I deserved it..."
"You didn't deserve that, no one deserves that." Elizabeth said with finality, "And I'm sorry that you had to go through that."
"But...but!" Rossie said from the back, "What he did was wrong because it was Akira! Because he was a disgusting male!"
Hah?
"Eli-Eli isn't that! She isn't neither disgusting nor male!" Rossie was almost screaming at this point, "She is cute! Adorable! She is everything that is right in this world! If she does it, then it is fine! Anything she touches will not be twisted but turned into what it should be!"
...Hah?
"Rossie?" Elizabeth said slowly, "Are you...okay?"
Rossie started breathing rapidly, was she...hyperventilating?
"I'm fine! She is the one who is wrong! Look! She is spinning!" Rossie said, grabbing the table so she would not fall.
"Rossie?" Rena seemed to also notice, "Take a deep breath, and let it out slowly..."
"I'm fine! We are fine!" Rossie said.
"Calm down, everything is okay." Elizabeth said as she walked slowly to Rossie, "No one will touch any Soul, not me, not Akira. Not anyone..."
"but...but...if you do it...it will be fine, I know it...everything will be fine...Because you love me! Because you are all that is right!" Rossie said almost as a mantra.
Was...was this an older wound? Part of her trauma? They had never addressed this before, had they?
Was it coming to light because they had thought about it? Was Rossie justifying the act? Because she had thought that Elizabeth would need to do it?
Because she had thought that she would need to decide between Elizabeth's Love or facing her past demons?
"We will take vacation days, and all our plans will be on hold for now. First we will spend time for us, not for the world, or for all the problems we have." Elizabeth decided.
"But...but...the Galaxidae...The [Nine Stars], the [World]!" Rossie whimpered.
"Screw them all, you are more important, Rena is more important. They can wait a few days." Elizabeth would not let this go by.
They...they would go and look for a psychiatrist.
How bad could it be?
