Chapter Ten: The Sleeping Treasure

Four people rushed hastily to the louver window and immediately froze in place.

A magnificent and resplendent main castle appeared in everyone's field of vision, with scales overlapping streets, crisscrossing each other, as neat as a chessboard.

Filled with Baroque-style buildings, beautifully and neatly situated on the long street, like a gathering of stars around the moon, surrounding the central ducal castle.

The elegant and atmospheric planning layout makes the main city look like a masterpiece of Van Gogh, full of beauty, just like a noble and elegant woman.

It's just now, this noble lady has lain in the cemetery, because, the master of the city is dead!

"What in the world is this place? Where has everyone gone?" Tony's face was frozen in shock.

Everyone was silent, they simply couldn't answer.

The grand main castle was covered in dust, without a hint of life, as if it had been shrouded in a coffin and buried in the cemetery.

"If it's a city destroyed by war, why are those buildings intact?" Robinson racked his brains but couldn't find an answer.

"Will we be underground?" Tang Dun raised his head, but all he could see was a thick layer of dark black clouds, without a single ray of sunlight shining through.

Everyone sees that they can see the distant scenery because there are fireflies emitting a dark red glow everywhere, gathering into strips of light, like aurora.

The building was also covered with a dark moss that emitted a green glow.

"We're rich!" Robinson suddenly exclaimed in a low tone, shattering the quiet bedroom.

"Are you out of your mind?! Those things roaming the streets are undead creatures, not gold coins!" Tony complained, the ghouls wandering around were driving him crazy, if they were discovered, they would be torn to shreds.

Robinson didn't even notice Tony, excitedly rushing to the furniture, rummaging through it, and soon found a purse.

  "What's wrong with you?"

Pire couldn't help but complain, but in the next second, he was shocked and shut his mouth.

After several thousand years, the fabric had long since disintegrated, and before Robinson could untie it, the purse directly rotted into fragments, dozens of coins clinking and falling to the floor, rolling out.

Toni's eyes nearly popped out of his head, and the golden light made his breathing heavy.

"It's true, probably the war came suddenly and the residents here didn't have time to take their personal belongings when they evacuated." Robinson picked up a gold coin, feeling the cool metal touch, his voice trembling, "Look at the scale of this main city, it has at least 600,000 people, the huge wealth of 600,000 people, all lying there waiting for us to dig up."

"And that's not all, the deposits in various banks, the goods in various shops, and the treasures hidden in the treasure rooms of noble mansions are now all ours!"

Toni gazed at the castle in the city center, his eyes burning with excitement. "To be able to possess such a main city, one must be a noble of high rank and great wealth, with a family legacy that has been passed down for thousands of years! How much wealth would he have? It's countless!"

Apart from Tang Dun, the four Robinsons subconsciously swallowed their saliva. If they could get these, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that they would become billionaires and have no problem becoming rich beyond the country's wealth. To know that among those nobles, there were many multimillionaires, now all their gold coins belonged to him.

Tang Dun's face remained unchanged, but his heart was already burning with anxiety, the wealth of this entire city was simply forcing him to die.

"This is an easy opportunity to become a billionaire, who would want to share it with a stranger they just met? Not to mention someone as weak as you can be killed with just one finger."

Enormous wealth is always a perfect conundrum for testing human nature, and many people will end up with a blank sheet!

Downton is very self-aware, the Robinson trio are old partners and may be evenly distributed, but what about himself and Durham? To them, they are strangers. Most importantly, in their eyes, these two miscellaneous fish have no ability to protect themselves at all.

The most troublesome thing is that the Robinson trio had already shown hostility in their previous escape, and if Downton still couldn't think of the other party hiring him as a lure, then he was truly stupid beyond salvation.

"Checkmate!" Tang Don sighed, it was as if the goddess of fate had lifted her skirt and revealed a tempting black silk leg, only to suddenly change her mind and spit in his face.

"Don't forget that the concentration of magical energy here is the most important resource!" Duren interjected with a look of excitement.

In the Western Continent, any region with a higher concentration of magical energy than the average is a treasure trove for major powers to fight over, as it can cultivate more and stronger mages, directly enhancing national war potential.

This treasure, of great value, not to mention the enhancement of one's own strength, just passing on the news to His Majesty the King, if confirmed, would immediately grant the presenter a hereditary noble title of at least Earl based on the density of magical energy.

This is not a decadent aristocrat on the streets, but a real lord of a fiefdom, who can make ordinary people jump into the upper class with capital.

"I'm gonna buy a dozen fairy maids, a dozen fox girls, and every night, I'll switch them out nonstop!" Tony's acne was about to burst from excitement as he muttered to himself about how he would enjoy his life from now on.

"Those ghouls aren't just rotting flesh, no matter how much you knead them, and who knows what other undead creatures might be lurking about. If you don't get rid of them, you'll never get your hands on those sleeping gold coins."

Tang Dun poured cold water on him, but he didn't give up and started self-rescuing instead.

When wealth is not readily available, they will face the crisis head-on. What Downton has to do is show value so that they won't kill themselves immediately.

"As long as I'm alive, there's a chance!" Tanton thought of the Demon Dictionary and with the five-fold concentration of demonic energy here, he should be able to enter the Soul Stage soon.

The ecstatic looks on the four people's faces dissipated, and they finally realized that the current situation was not as optimistic as they had imagined.

"Our food is limited, if we can't find supplies within two days, we'll definitely starve to death!" Tang Don deliberately added a time limit, just to tell them that time was tight, and one more person meant one more share of strength.

The faces of the four people looked very unsightly, fortunately Tang Dun didn't lose his backpack, otherwise everyone would have gone hungry.

"If only I had known, I wouldn't have lost my backpack." Tony pounded his chest and regretted to death. Immediately, a hint of ferocity appeared on his face. Killing the two would save two portions of food, not to mention two huge fortunes.

"Fortunately, Tony was prepared!" Robinson said with a smile, placing his right hand on Tony's shoulder and pressing down slightly, indicating for him to calm down.

"Danton, you're not going to monopolize the food, are you?" Pire also hastily gave his good friend a restraining glance. The three of them had known each other for a long time and could tell what the others were thinking through some small movements.

"Of course not, judging from the situation, there are quite a few ghouls in this building, and you'll have to rely on yourselves to solve it. If I die, I'm done for too! Dammit, if only I were a spirit-level...!" Tang Dun revealed a gloomy expression, subtly emphasizing the disparity in strength between them, telling them that he was not a threat at all.

"Don't worry, you won't be at a loss. In the end, I'll give you an extra gold coin!" Robinson comforted Tanton, like a generous big shot.

Durant happily punched Tang Dun's chest with a fist.

"Kid, you've hit the jackpot! What are you going to do with this money?" Tony put his arm around Tad's shoulder, pretending to be friendly, but inside he was laughing his head off. Two idiots, played by Robinson like a fiddle and still didn't know it. If he let them leave alive, that would be a miracle.

"Buy the entire set of top-notch mountain cat suits, and then buy a few pure-blooded Flanders horses, mansions, servants, these are all necessary!" Dangton's face was full of longing, narrating his dream with a serious tone, but in his heart, he couldn't help but sneer.

His strength is not enough to protect his food, if he doesn't hand it over, he will provoke the other party, and being beaten up is a light punishment. If their relationship becomes awkward, any further actions will be inconvenient.

"Five days' worth of food, just enough for one person each, right?" Tandon worried that it would all be snatched away and decided to distribute it directly.

Robinson saw that Downton was not hiding anything and nodded.

"Time is tight, let's go find the magic stone quickly!" Duran urged, this kid was so careless and didn't notice the hostility from the other side at all.

"How should we group?" Tang Dun looked at Pire and said, "Why don't we form a team? Our strengths are different. If we act separately, we'll die!"

Robinson had originally intended to keep Downton and Durham by his side for surveillance, but upon hearing this, he hesitated.

"No way, it's too much of a waste of time and manpower. Everyone will act separately, each responsible for one area." Pire rejected bluntly.

"But it's too dangerous." Danton pretended to be unwilling, but was actually advancing by retreating. If he proposed taking action alone, Robinson would definitely suspect him.

Robinson slowly opened the door, and in the screeching creak of the rusty hinges, he stuck out his head to observe the situation.

"No danger, alright, no more nonsense, time is short, let's move quickly!"

Robinson gave a nod and Tony and Pire immediately grabbed Downton and Duran, pushing them out of the bedroom.

"One at a time!" Robinson pointed down the corridor to the stairs at either end, his voice rising. "You're not cowards, are you?"

"You're the coward, Tandon! Be careful!" Duren rolled his eyes and stretched out his right hand.

  "So are you!"

Crack! Tandon slapped his hand and high-fived with his good friend.

Dangton proceeded cautiously until he reached the bottom of the stairs, where he leaned against the wall and let out a long sigh.

"We've managed to save our lives for the time being!" Tang Don realized that his entire back had become drenched with sweat at some point, and droplets of water fell onto the floor, wetting the dust.

"This seems to be an inn, never mind, first find a place to hide and absorb magical energy!"

Looking down the quiet corridor, Downton suppressed the urge to choose a room nearby and walked to the middle section. He left several footprints in front of a door, made a fake entry gesture, then retreated back along the original footprints, pushed open another door, and jumped inside.

"No footprints left behind should avoid being found by them as soon as possible!" Tong Dun couldn't help but be cautious, "Duren, don't you dare go back stupidly!"

Sat cross-legged on the bed, took out the magic book and placed it on his legs, Tang Don took a few deep breaths, began to meditate in a daze, time was too tight, he didn't even have time to talk to Holma.
