Chapter 16: Wonderful Misunderstanding

The two people opposite had strange and inexplicable eyes.

In their eyes, Kaisa really didn't seem like someone who would sleep with a girl and then leave.

To say nothing of him sleeping with a woman, even an elf doesn't have any romantic affairs.

The girl in front of me was too beautiful, and compared to those elves, she wasn't inferior at all.

So Lord Kael is also unable to escape the temptation of American beauties?

"Or, uh, he's just busier, yeah, he's always busy." The miscellaneous man's eyes ignited with a fiery gossip, "If you're hungry, maybe we can still help you out."

Cynthia looked embarrassed and lowered her head, saying in a low voice: "Can you take me to see the pharmacist first? I was injured last night."

She kept telling the truth, but the two men in front of her seemed even more excited.

"My name is Duane! I'm not working today! I can take you there!" The one wearing the red janitor uniform was Duane, he pushed a person beside him, "Dorde, hurry up and go to the mutton soup restaurant, or else you'll be fined again."

"Wow, this is really big news!" The man named Todd gazed at Cynthia's pretty little face for a few more seconds before taking off down the stairs.

Mr. Kairos not only slept with the girl but also likes heavy taste!

This major news will soon spread in the gossip city.

Cynthia leaned against the wall and slowly followed Dawn downstairs, with the other person frequently turning his head to look at her with a very pitiful gaze. "Does it hurt? I didn't expect Lord Kayser to torture you like this."

Cynthia felt the stairs were spinning like a whirlpool, she shook her head and hummed: "No, he's fine, he didn't torture me."

"You sound like you're about to pass out."

"Then can you help me up?" Cynthia said weakly.

Are people here immune to her? Why can't a friendly hand be extended to her?

Dorn wanted to help the poor girl, but he firmly shook his head, "Hold on a bit, that's Lord Kaylus' cloak, it represents you as his possession, I don't dare touch it."

Cynthia took a deep breath and suppressed her emotions that were about to burst out, "I know."

It wasn't until she finally got downstairs that the piercing sunlight outside made a layer of white light float in front of her eyes. She covered her eyes with her hand, still unaccustomed to leaving the dark environment so quickly, and was already dizzy to the point where she couldn't see anything clearly.

"Do you have money? My wages for today aren't enough for me to buy a ticket for the city teleport or a carriage." Dorne looked at her with difficulty, "At most I can hire an ox for you, but you'll need to return the money to me using the reward from Lord Kegasu."

"Just call a carriage, I have plenty of money." Cynthia crouched on the ground, shrinking into her black cloak and sniffing at the only mint that could bring her clarity.

Dorne heard her words and hastily said: "I'll be right there."

She was the only one left, crouching by the side of the street, her black cloak wrapped tightly around her, and yet she welcomed the numerous gazes that were even more scorching than the sun on her head.

No one failed to recognize Kais's cloak, they made Cynthia their focus, but no one dared to approach.

Until she climbed onto the horse carriage, no one saw the face hidden under the hood, only catching a glimpse of that strand of shallow golden hair that accidentally slipped out.

Upon entering the clinic, Cynthia was led into a separate room.

"You have a bit of a fever." The pharmacist was a young woman with the same gossip spark in her eyes as Dawn.

Cynthia replied in a hoarse voice: "I soaked some cold water last night."

  "Is it Lord Kayers?"

  "Uh-huh."

He also stood in the water for a while, theoretically speaking, this seems to be nothing wrong, Cynthia thought bitterly.

"What's next?" The pharmacist was rummaging through various medicines in the cabinet on one side, and from time to time, green smoke emerged from those bottles.

Cynthia gazed past him with a dubious expression, as if she suspected that this thing was so unreliable it could get her drunk just by looking at it.

"There's more..." She thought for a moment, leaning against the headboard and laboriously lifting one hand, rolling up her sleeve to reveal many scratch marks on her pale skin. "My back and arms were all scratched by branches."

"Good heavens!" The pharmacist, holding the freshly prepared medicine, walked up to her and grasped her slender hand, examining it carefully before speaking in a tone of tender pity: "Although I have no right to inquire into any matters concerning Mr. Kyaos, even if it were the first time, he shouldn't have...used such violent means on you."

Cynthia felt her throat burning up, but she still made an effort to correct it: "He didn't treat me like that, I hurt myself."

"Oh, my poor dear, he was with you in the house all night, how could you possibly have gotten hurt?"

A cup of green liquid with bubbles rising to the surface was placed in front of Cynthia, "Drink it quickly, it will take effect soon."

Cynthia was really out of energy to argue with her, and she even thought it would be great if this beautiful misunderstanding could spread throughout the city.

Anyway, she did her best to explain it.

She lowered her head and closed her eyes, downing the cup of what looked like poisonous green juice in one gulp, with a few popping boba added to it.

Unexpectedly, the liquid entering the mouth carried a refreshing peppermint flavor.

The fire that had been ignited in his throat was instantly extinguished by a basin of ice water, and the dizzy head also fully recovered after a few minutes.

Cynthia's face, which had been flushed with fever, was now pale and clear due to the rapid drop in temperature.

She saw clearly that the pharmacist in front of her with a single round lens was a woman who looked very kind.

  "Thank you." She said sincerely.

"Thanks for nothing, pretty girl, you should pay my medical bill now."

Cynthia nodded, took out a gold coin from the pouch at her waist, and the sacred aura emanating from it caused the pharmacist's face to change, as he quickly retreated several steps. "Where did you get this blessed gold coin?! Lord Kayser actually allowed you to bring this?!"

Cynthia said with some guilt: "I promised him that I would exchange it for normal gold coins and give them to him, but he was gone this morning."

The apothecary narrowed his eyes, leaning in to examine the strands of hair she had revealed, hooking a lock with his finger. His tone began to take on an odd quality. "I've only just noticed that the hair hidden under your hat is a light gold color - a rare shade indeed in Tamriel."

"Are you a member of the royal family of Riedania?"

The pharmacist was quite knowledgeable and soon realized the problem.

Caius-sama actually slept with a member of the Imperial Family of Shintoism?
