Chapter 7: The Great General Lei (Part 1)
Under the azure sky, in the grass clusters emitting a refreshing fragrance, insects chirped from time to time.
Lei Hao was lying on the grassy ground in the middle of Kan Yuan Mountain, his hands clasped behind his head and his legs stretched out, staring blankly at the white clouds in the sky. The fragrance of the green grass wafted around him, and the warm sunlight made Lei Hao's whole body feel languid, even the pain from his injuries didn't seem so sharp anymore.
The battle at Qing She Cave has passed for three days. Lei Hao is still leading his small demons to patrol the mountain as usual in the afternoon.
He waved his hand to shoo away the flying insects in front of him, and the pulled muscle hurt again, making him grit his teeth. The pain reminded him of three days ago.

Three days ago, due to the two demon kings, Hún Shì Mó Wáng and Qīng Shé Wáng, being severely injured and unable to fight again, the small demons from Water Cavern and Snake Demon Cavern retreated while protecting their respective kings. The great battle ended in such an abrupt manner.
Lei Hao, who had regained consciousness, finally felt the state of his entire body. It was as if he had been hit by a large truck many times, and every part of his body was groaning in pain. The intense pain caused Lei Hao's hands to cramp uncontrollably, making it impossible for him to hold onto the wolf-toothed club, and his face twisted in agony. Having never experienced such severe pain before, Lei Hao almost let out a miserable cry, but with so many demon soldiers present, he gritted his teeth and endured it, thinking that it would be too humiliating for the great masters to cry out in pain from just a little injury.
Lei Hao struggled for about half a minute before his eyes rolled back and he fainted beautifully...
Lei Hao opened his eyes to find himself in the familiar small stone room. He turned his head to see a little fox sleeping beside him, and looked down to discover that he had already changed into a set of cloth clothes, with several bandages wrapped around his body covered in medicinal herbs. The strong scent of medicine immediately refreshed Lei Hao's spirits. Looking around, he saw a stone basin on the stone bed, filled with several pieces of cooked meat. He struggled to sit up against the wall, took a piece of meat and tore off a small strip, putting it into his mouth to slowly chew. His dry mouth made it difficult for him to swallow.
The sound of chewing woke up the lightly sleeping little fox. "Head, you're finally awake," said the little fox with a delighted expression.
"Hmm, how long was I unconscious?" Lei Hao stopped eating and asked aloud.
"One day and one night, it's enough to worry us to death." The little fox said, patting its chest.
"How are you brothers?" Lei Hao remained silent for a moment before asking.
"All brothers have returned. Niu 92 and Hu 87 are more seriously injured, but they will be fine after some rest." Little Fox replied hastily.
"That's good, that's good." Lei Hao let out a long sigh of relief.
"How's your injury? Does it feel any better?" Little Fox asked with her head down.
"Much better, did you do all these?" Lei Hao pointed at the herbal medicine on his body.
"Hmm, you don't know, you fainted and scared us. Niu 92 and Hu 87 protected you as we retreated, your wound was bleeding all the way, I hastily found some messy herbs on the road to stop the bleeding." The little fox's head hung even lower, probably thinking of Lei Hao covered in blood again.
"Hmm, I feel much better now. This herb is really useful." Lei Hao said nonchalantly as he looked at the little fox who was hanging its head low.
Lei Hao fell into a trance after speaking, he put down the meat in his hand and lifted it up, using the firelight that was jumping continuously in the cave to look at his hands. He seemed to see a lot of blood on his hands, his face turned paler and paler, and the meat he had just eaten began to churn in his stomach, wanting to vomit. Lei Hao endured the nausea, and soon fine beads of cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
"Little fox, I... did I kill many... many snake demons?" Lei Hao asked hesitantly, looking down at his hands.
"Really? What's wrong? You don't know how majestic and powerful you were back then. So many snake demons couldn't stop you, you led us on the battlefield, killing left and right, even a laozi snake flash was smashed into minced meat by your one stick...” As soon as he said this, the little fox became excited, completely unaware of Lei Hao's increasingly ugly face.
"Never mind, never mind! Little fox, you go out first." Lei Hao said, waving his hand.
The little fox only then noticed Leihao's ugly face, thinking he was having a relapse of his injury, and was about to go forward to take a look. But Leihao had already chased her out, so she could only leave. "This guy, everything is fine, but sometimes he really doesn't seem like a demon." The little fox muttered to herself as she walked out of the stone room.
The quiet stone room occasionally echoed with the sound of burning firewood 'crackling and popping', the flames casting a mysterious glow on Lei Hao's face.

Lei Hao raised his hand to look at the sunlight shining on both hands, the fluffy hands were washed very clean, but in Lei Hao's heart, these hands might never be washed clean forever.
Lei Hao let out a sigh, opened his mouth and cursed: "Damn it, why did I feel so guilty after killing just a few demons? In the past, when I watched those time-traveling shows, the protagonists would kill gods and Buddhas, destroy countries and cities like it was nothing. Why do I feel so bad about killing a few demons?" After cursing, he helplessly dropped his hands. What could he do now that he had already killed them? Could he just go apologize with his neck stretched out? If he didn't kill them, they would have killed him, and he had to protect his brothers.
Lei Hao, who had regained his usual lazy demeanor, closed his eyes and began to enjoy the warm sunlight, as if using its clarity to dispel the darkness in his heart.
Lei Hao, who had fallen asleep quickly, was startled awake by a series of footsteps. He turned his head to see that it was Xiao Hu Li bringing Bao Er over.
"How did Leopard Twenty come? He never comes to Kan Yuan Shan to find me." Lei Hao muttered to himself, but still got up and warmly welcomed Leopard Twenty.
"Leopard leader, what wind blew you here?" Lei Hao quickly walked up and said to Leopard Twenty.
"Niu brother, the great king has sent me to find you. The great king wants to see you, hurry up and follow me back, can't let the great king wait." Bao Er dragged Lei Hao away without saying a word, rushing towards the Shui Xue cave.
"What does the Demon King of the Mortal Realm want from me?" Lei Hao was also very surprised, but he wasn't too afraid. He hadn't done anything and spent his days touring the mountains with Xiao Yao, not doing anything that would attract the attention of the Demon King.
"Report, Your Majesty, Niu Thirteen has arrived." As soon as they entered the Water Womb Cave, a voice came from far inside. "Brother Niu, hurry up and come in, be careful what you say later, don't provoke the king's anger. The king's temper is not very good." Bao Twenty pulled Lei Hao to a door, pushed him gently and said in a low voice.
Lei Hao nodded and stepped inside. He had been at the Water Cavern for two and a half months, but he had never entered this place before. In the past, there were always elite little demons guarding the entrance, and ordinary little demons were not allowed to approach. Only after entering did Lei Hao discover that there was another world inside. The Water Cavern should be divided into two parts; the outside was just a gate, and this was the real Water Cavern. The space here was very large, with the stone wall on the ceiling being broken through by powerful magic. Warm sunlight poured down from above, illuminating the entire cave. In front of him, there was a small training ground, where two or three hundred little demons were gathered. Each one was comparable to the strongest underlings in Lei Hao's command, Niu Jiushi and Hu Baishi. They were dressed in uniform, armed with large knives, and practicing a set of knife techniques. Even with Lei Hao's discerning eye, he couldn't see how powerful this technique was, but it looked very impressive, and the spirit of these little demons was vastly different from those outside. This must be the elite of the Water Cavern; the ones outside were probably just cannon fodder. No wonder no one cared even when many had died.
Lei Hao was watching, and a fox demon came forward, looking at Lei Hao and asking: "Are you Niu Thirteen?" Seeing Lei Hao nodding, he said again: "Follow me, the king has been waiting for you for a long time." Saying that, he directly passed through the school field and walked into the cave entrance in front.
This is a stone chamber as large as two basketball courts, the ground is covered with all kinds of animal hides, and more than a dozen fire basins are burning neatly on both sides, illuminating the stone chamber brightly. In the center, there is a majestic tiger skin throne, and who sits on it if not the Demon King? Today's Demon King wears a simple blue robe, simple yet majestic.
"Your Majesty, Niu Shi San has arrived." The little demon went in and knelt down on one knee, which made Lei Hao feel another wave of embarrassment. Kneeling? How humiliating! But when you're under someone's roof, you have to lower your head. Lei Hao walked forward, gritted his teeth, and prepared to kneel, but the Mixed World Demon King sitting on the tiger skin stone throne spoke up, his voice still thick: "Get up, let me take a look at what kind of brave warrior can kill Snake Flash." Lei Hao heard this and stood up with ease. Who would want to kneel if they didn't have to?
The Demon King of the Mortal World stared at Lei Hao, releasing his aura as the Demon King, a strong pressure that enveloped Lei Hao, making him almost kneel down again. Lei Hao bit his teeth and held on, his heart screaming: "Don't kneel, don't kneel, don't kneel, if you kneel, you'll never stand up this lifetime." Fortunately, the Demon King's injuries were severe, and his aura was only half of its full power, so Lei Hao managed to hold on.
"Not bad, not bad. You single-handedly killed Snake Flash and greatly enhanced our Water Tomb's reputation. Wasn't that triangular formation on the battlefield that day formed by you and your underling demons?" Half-Resounding Demon King slowly spoke up, his tone full of praise.
"Yes, Your Majesty." Lei Hao lowered his head and said. After the Demon King spoke, the atmosphere was relieved, and Lei Hao only then discovered that his back was drenched with sweat.
"You killed Snake Flash, I'll directly promote you two levels. Coincidentally, one of my great generals in the Water Cavern died in battle. From now on, you'll be the fourth great general of the Water Cavern. Take this 'Divine Demon Scripture' and cultivate it well, then serve me properly." The Chaotic Demon King stared at Lei Hao for a moment before speaking. He gave power to those who had ability, as for loyalty, he didn't consider it at all. As long as they were strong enough, even the cleverest little demons would have to obediently serve him. In this world, strength was supreme.
"At your command, everything depends on your orders." Lei Hao was overjoyed when he heard this, as his power and strength would be enhanced. As for serving the Demon King of Chaos, Lei Hao had never taken it to heart. The Demon King of Chaos is powerful now, but that's just for now. Once the Western Expedition begins, he'll just be a dead weight, a mere extra. Should Lei Hao pledge loyalty to him? Would his decade-long education go to waste?"
The Demon King nodded in satisfaction at Le Hao's words, but if he knew what Le Hao was thinking at that moment, he might have squeezed him to death.
"Hu Qi, come here and take Lei Hao to see Hu Da Tong Ling to receive the cloak and waist card." The Demon King of the Mortal World summoned a little demon to have him take Lei Hao to handle the handover of the Grand Marshal.
"Your Majesty, Niu Thirteen (Hú Seven) requests to withdraw." Lei Hao bowed and followed Hú Seven out of the stone chamber.
