Chapter 80
Dylan got up from the floor and began to stretch his body, feeling a little stiff after the healing. This was a normal condition and after a few minutes of stretching and endurance manipulation, he got rid of it. Pulling out the academy card, Dylan saw that he had about an hour left before the meeting.
"The training took about 30 minutes, not bad in principle. By accelerating the techniques to the maximum, I no longer waste much stamina in vain. Really a level of skill." Dylan said, sitting down in a chair.
Activating the storage ring, he took out the book "Skills of the Mage and Warrior Class Heritage Line" from the portal. Opening it from the back and flipping through several pages, Dylan quickly found the skill he needed and read its description.
"Yeah, from what it says here, I'm still a long, long way from getting it the normal way." Dylan said, leaning back in his chair.
He tried to remember everything he knew about the [Line of Legacies] skills from the Shard meetings, Vivienne, other books and everything that talked about it.
This was very important because the more [Line of Legacies] skills a person had, the better the selection of [Line of Legacies] skills they were offered when evolving their class, and the class evolution itself could be stronger. This was the problem.
Dylan knew 3 ways to obtain [Line of Legacies] skills. Learn the skills of the first Mage and Warrior, which was impossible. Get them from the system for choosing and evolving a class. And develop the spirit, thereby obtaining them, which he understood purely theoretically. He was particularly interested in the last two methods.
When choosing the Mage and Warrior class, people usually get the [Aura] skill reworked for a special type of mana, or like his atypical one sharpened for controlling the spirit and will, or the [Fight Sense] skill helping to better understand the flow of battle and navigate it. Dylan got the [Parallel Thinking] skills, [Accelerated Perception] and the development of his Aura into the [Aura of Arcane Will] skill. The fact that he got other skills and got the development of his Aura was unusual, but nothing more. And this already promised him a better choice of skills when evolving the class.
"Skills, skills, skills." Dylan muttered, staring at the ceiling. "To develop the spirit, you need to do the same things as a real Mage and Warrior. Kill monsters, fight to the death, cast incredibly complex spells, perform insane rituals, wage war, sit in meditation for months. In general, do frankly insane and heroic things."
Thinking about it further, Dylan realized that this is a kind of Karmic Magic flowing into the spiritual. How events create connections and spiritual power, how it accumulates inside to later become the appropriate ability.
"I think I understand how it works. Mage and Warrior are classes that don't rely purely on the body and magic, each of them relies on the strength of the spirit. And the more significant achievements and titles a person has, the higher the chance he has to develop the spirit. When a person acquires a spirit suitable for a Mage or Warrior, it turns into a suitable skill [Line of Legacies]... Sounds something like that." Dylan nodded to himself.
"But as far as I understand, it's incredibly difficult to develop a spirit, much less develop one suitable for the [Line of Legacies] skill. Although theoretically, [Reincarnator's Madness] is a spiritual skill, and the creation of Will is also, in theory. But if I had a will at birth, then madness is an absolutely random thing. Although this is probably how such skills should develop."
Having said this to himself, Dylan remembered that after the Adept and Mage stages, these classes focus on developing the spirit. In the case of the Great Mage, this is the ability to control the will for easy and quick casting of spells. But in the case of the Elite Warrior, everything is much more complicated.
Every Elite-level warrior must have a spiritual ability. In the case of the Ghost Blade art, it could be several abilities: A personal spiritual ability unrelated to the art of the ghost sword. [Ghost Aura] a spiritual ability that allows one to hide, block the spread of sound and absorb kinetic energy. [Incorporeality] a spiritual ability that allows one to ignore any physical attacks for a few seconds, but become very vulnerable to spiritual and some magical ones. [Ghost Blade] allows one to deal damage to all spiritual creatures and leave an icy touch that binds spirits and slows down material beings. Two of the three spiritual abilities of the clan were owned by Dylan's father, namely [Ghost Aura] and [Ghost Blade], Dylan talked to him about this topic. But Varin did not explain much to him, saying only that at one time he also will take possession two of his abilities.
Thinking further, Dylan realized that it was quite possible to cultivate the spirit, although he did not know the correct method. But he had a great start for it. Activating the Lesser Spiritual Sense [Rare] skill, Dylan looked at his hands and later at his body. He could see and feel his spirit, soul energy, and perhaps sense the shades of his own soul? He could not fully understand it.
Expanding his aura, Dylan saw the spiritual power move away from his body and completely cover the room, it was barely visible even to him. For which he praised himself greatly, because without spiritual sense it is impossible to sense the aura. Mages can do this only by understanding how difficult or easy it is for them to control mana.
Trying to do something different, Dylan extended his hand forward and concentrated his mana on it. Gathering and squeezing the mana, a small ball of soft blue color glowed in his hand. Having poured will into it, Dylan was unable to see anything with his spiritual sense. Continuing to pour will into the ball, he still did not notice anything and only when he began to noticeably get tired, he was able to notice something that seemed green to him. Looking closely and continuing to pour more will, he was able to feel it with his spiritual sense, it really was green, with the feeling of himself. It was hard to explain. When Dylan looked at something with his spiritual sense, he could instinctively understand what it was and what effect it had. Looking at his will, he felt it as himself, or a fragment of him. It was strange to feel himself from the outside.

Shaking his head, Dylan sucked the mana back into the core, watching as his will was sucked in with it. Not paying attention, Dylan continued to examine his body. He could see what seemed to him to be faint, barely visible streams of golden soul energy and the strange, foggy, blue shapes and outlines of his spirit. His spirit was weak, or rather, almost non-existent. What he saw seemed to him like invisible air, which was probably just beginning to turn into fog, or light steam. What was offensive was that Dylan couldn't see his soul, it was definitely there and sometimes he thought he was about to feel it, but he never saw it.
Dylan shifted his gaze from his own body to the [Nascent Maple Spirit Sword], unlike anything else, he could clearly sense the part of the spirit inside the sword, like a thick green haze and feel its calm, peace, and love. Perhaps it was because the spirit was so strong, or perhaps it was because he wanted him to feel it, Dylan didn't know.
Dylan leaned back in his chair and continued to think about where else he had felt some kind of spiritual power. He remembered meeting the damned ent and how he felt his twisted spirit and cursed energy, from them he received a feeling of a twisted hunger devouring life force and killing his native forest. It was disgusting, like looking at a crazy person who ate people with insane pleasure.
Shaking his head, Dylan quickly forgot about this allegory. And continued to think about the skills of the [Line of Legacies] of Mages and Warriors. He sat for several dozen minutes, weighing all the pros and cons before deciding on a very important step.
"Status." Dylan said as several images appeared before his eyes.
Looking at his new skills and the additional stats he had gained from high-level alchemy, Dylan smiled. But that wasn't what he was here for now. After creating the unique skill [Reincarnator's Madness], the system gave him the opportunity to choose another [Special] level skill, and he finally decided what it would be.
Finding the skill shop icon, Dylan opened it and saw exactly what he was looking for first. Selecting it without hesitation, the shop icon disappeared and several notifications appeared.
Congratulations, you have acquired the skill [Insight Great Mage] [Special] [Granted] [Line of Legacies] Lvl 401

Congratulations, you have gained 4 levels in the [Mage of Arcane Will] [Rare][Unique] Lvl 10 > 14 class
When Dylan got the skill he felt something change in him. Opening his eyes, Dylan saw the notifications and smiled wider. He didn't expect to gain a several new level at all. Not paying much attention to it, Dylan focused on his spirit. It hadn't gotten any bigger and it was still hard to see, but as he continued to look at it, Dylan began to realize that it had gotten better or maybe stronger. Concentrating even more, Dylan felt something special, he felt that his spirit now resembled a real mage. He didn't know how to explain it to himself, but more and more he began to feel that he was a real Mage.
Dylan smiled happily as he reread the skill description and quickly pulled out Vivienne's book on advanced magic. He was eager to master the previously unavailable spells.
