Chapter 85: The Work Carries On.

  (Celia’s POV)

Guinevere was gone, but Faith was back and talking to me just as always. I didn’t ask for how long that I slept for, and Faith didn’t tell me. However long it was, that sleep was something that I really, really needed, it seems.

Faith: “Only a few players left…” She repeated known information.

Celia: “Why say it like that? The other girls were just as simple as usual.” I reply with a raised eyebrow.

Faith: “Yeah, as usual, that being, you didn’t seduce any of them, so they abandoned our guild, ignoring your goodwill.” She pouted.

Celia: “Hey, their choices are theirs to make, not mine. Forcing someone to fight in my guild… would just be horribly bad idea.” I lecture with a stern tone.

Faith: “Oh, it would definitely be a bad idea, true. But, Celia, you still give them bribes but you get nothing in return at all!” She exclaimed in anger.

Celia: “I am willing to take the losses, Faith. Getting rid of other players, regardless of how, will be good for us in the long run. Besides, I have so many SIPs to spend, so this isn’t a problem.” I say in defense.

If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

I understand where she is coming from, Though I am confused on why she is angry about this… Faith never made a fuss about it before now. What gives?

Faith: “From now on, do not give out bribes!” She ordered.

Celia: “I have to… If I don’t, then it won’t be fair to them. The others before them got bribes that gave them immense power, but they won’t. That isn’t fair at all!” I replied with a serious tone.

Faith: “Life isn’t supposed to be fair, Celia, and this game especially isn’t fair in the least.” She lectured.

  Celia: “…”

Faith: “Look, just keep doing what you’re doing, but stop after this part. On the next part, most of the players should be Gods, Goddeses, Supreme Gods or Supreme Goddesses. There will be no reason to bribe anyone at that point, and most of them will probably be your enemies.” She proposed.

Celia: “Hm… Fine, I agree. My SIPs expense rate is crazy right now, after all.” I agreed with a sigh.

Her words… upset me a bit. Naively, I believed that I could go this entire game, killing as few as possible. And, thankfully, I managed to do that for the most part. But Faith was so confident that I’d have to be killing players for the fourth part of the game…

And with me soon to finish this part of the game, the fourth part isn’t that far away at all. Well… I don’t know how many dimensions the third part is taking place in, so I do not know for sure.

Faith: “Celia, let’s stop with difficult discussions of the future, and focus on the here and now.” She advised.

Celia: “Right.” I reply with a nod.

Hey… weren’t you the one who brought up this topic? Whatever… her intentions were good, so I can’t really complain about her conduct. The last few female players… I will find you all soon!
