Finding Ku Yue (枯月; kū yuè means withered moon) isn't that difficult. He's either asleep or at the bar. He orders a drink but never touches it, zily sitting from afternoon until dusk, and in that time, he finishes reading a book. Sometimes it's a fashion magazine, sometimes a collection of Lorca's poetry, and sometimes just a boring novel or a comic.
He always chooses the spot by the window, pulling the curtains halfway so that the sunlight outside shines in but never touches him. Nestled into the soft sofa, he holds the book, half-closing his slender eyes with violet irises, his deep brown hair softly resting against his forehead. He looks no different from any ordinary person enjoying a moment of leisure. The more elite the bounty hunter, the simpler their everyday life.
When the woman found him, he only asked three questions as usual: "Time? Pce? Characters?" In Ku Yue's opinion, being a killer is no different from writing an essay. The most important things are these three elements. He doesn't care about anything else.
Over the years, countless yaokais have died at his hands, and the rewards he has earned are countless as well. Most of it has been spent on buying houses, apartments, vils, and ordinary homes all over the world, just like a child buying candy. However, he never lives in these houses; he just lets them sit there, gathering dust over the years.
"After you get the box, kill him." Under the wide-brimmed bck felt hat, only half of the woman's face was visible. Her beautiful lips, painted with bright red lipstick, pushed a whole bag of diamonds towards him. "This is half the payment."
Location: Moon City, SWORD District.
Time: Within three months.
Person : Jin Feiyu
PS: Before dealing with the target, obtain the peach wood carved box from them, and it must be intact. (Additional fees apply.)
Ku Yue hastily jotted down these lines in his notebook.
"When you kill those yaokais, will you feel sad?" The woman slightly raised her head, revealing her delicate, well-defined nose and the deep smile at the corner of her mouth.
"When you hire me to kill them, will you feel sad?" he countered.
"Hehe." The woman took a sip of the Lafite in her gss. "Why do you want to be a killer?"
"I will deliver on time." He didn't even look at her, the pages he flipped through making a rustling sound between his fingers.
The woman smiled, took out a bill, and pced it on the table: "Alright, this drink is on me. I'll wait for your good news."
He nodded, listening to the sound of her high heels tapping on the floor, gradually fading away. The spot where she sat left a faint, special scent lingering in the air, settling into the crystal-clear wine gss.
Ku Yue closed the book and left the bar.
Moon City, that distant border town, was still far, far away from the city where he currently lived. Before going there, he needed to get a good night's sleep.
Only in his dreams could he truly feel safe and happy.
