This is the prologue to a novel I''''m writing in which the protagonist, March, is set on the assassination of High King Igris VII. The focus of this excerpt is Gunther, a long time friend of March''''s who has endeavored to reach March with news of Igris. He was meant to warn March as the king was made ready and will mean his certain death. Gunther, however, was attacked and killed while making his way to The Tipsy Tangle where he was to meet with March.
