During the rest of the second test, there was only one I was interested in watching.
It was honestly kinda a waste of time.

Their battle was completely one-sided.
It was like a massacre.
Their opponent removed his own teammate from the arena.
Then proceeded to defeat Jack and Jenny using two conflicting elements!
People who dedicate themselves to learning magic usually learn one element and another element that would boost their other.

Thats a lot more than Alavander Cromwell had.

The second effect is also fantastic.
The more danger I face, the stronger I become.
Well, that explains why I got much stronger after facing Follis Darwin and Nia Hall.

What's that supposed to be?
And I may have the authority to enter The Place Between Dreams, but I don't know how or where to enter.
It's like having a key to a lock that's nowhere to be seen.
Theoretically, I could enter, but realistically… it means nothing.

I guess that means it's over.
“The third test will commence in thirty minutes from now in the great hall of the Hero Academy.”
Thats pretty soon.
It is almost night, though.
They must want to wrap it all up before the end of the day.
In the great hall looks to be about six hundred students.
THE wizard flicks his wand, and a giant see-through crystal emerges from the floor.
“This is a giant MP appraisal crystal. You will each place your hand on the crystal and inject your MP into it. The crystal will then measure not your MP, but instead your MP purity.”
MP purity?
“For those who don't know what MP purity is, it's different from your MP value. MP:100 means you have 100 MP. Your purity is how much you can get out of each point.”
So, MP purity is just how efficient my MP consumption is?
“There are five levels of MP purity: Blue is the weakest purity, then yellow, then red, then black, then white is the strongest. To enter the Hero Academy, we require a purity of at least yellow.”
Is this the magic measuring test trope?
When I go up there, there are only three things that can happen.
One is that I get white and stun everyone.
Two is that I get some hidden sixth purity and confuse everyone.
Third is that I just break the crystal.

It lights up the whole room.
I knew he was stong but I didn't expect him to have white purity.
I assumed that white purity would only be had by the strongest people, like the demon lord, hero, or Rei Ilios.
Well im the hero and Im not the strongest.
Maybe Alavander will become the strongest.
Maybe his story is still in its prologue?

And next is Rei.

I know purity doesn’t equate strength, and that it's just your MP efficiency, but still!

I guess this goes to show that this test is kinda pointless.
Marin is weaker than Rei, that's a fact.
But she had a higher mana purity.
If Rei just had poor efficiency and was blue, she would have failed.
But Marin, who is weaker, would have passed.
This test is just stupid and flawed.
What idiot came up with it?
I think they just had the big rock and wanted to use it.

The rock first glows an ivory white.
THE wizard moves to end things, but before he can, the MP appraisal stone changes.
The ivory white switches to silver.
The crowd all looks shocked, and THE wizard looks utterly stunned.
It's like he just saw something he believed was impossible up until right now happen before his eyes.
Silver lightning crackles around the stone and shoots all around the room.
It hits the walls and pillars in the room, leaving deep lacerations.
One stray bolt collides with a chandelier and comes falling down.
Marin uses her water magic to catch the fallen chandelier.
Other debris fall as well, but Alavander Cromwell and Rei are able to save everyone.
The stone gets even more out of control, and the silver lightning envelops the stone.
Oh-fuck.
I’ve already fucked up enough; I'm not letting this continue.
The lightning stops whirling around the stone; however, it doesn’t dissipate.
It discharges and shoots into my chest.
Immediately, I pass out.
Damn.
The MP appraisal stone hit all three tropes.
I got white purity, a new silver purity, and I broke it.
They'd better not charge me for the cost of the stone.
