Chapter thirteen-This Chapter Is Just World Building

  Chapter Thirteen

While Rentaro Sasajima was passed out.

  Faculty meeting room.

“That boy is really something else. What we saw can only be described as divine.”

  There's no way.

  I refuse to believe it.

That boy is just a lucky fool who knows nothing.

I don’t know how he did it, but he must have used some kind of trick.

First, he releases all my summons from my control, second, he dispels the labyrinth created by the hero a thousand years ago, third, he brutally crushes his opponent in the second test, and lastly, he breaks the stone with a silver purity.

“The only time anyone has had a silver purity is recorded in the Book of Yore. It was the hero who had a silver purity.”

I refuse to believe that this kid could be on the same level as the hero of a thousand years ago.

When the world was on the verge of being controlled by the demon king, three angels came down and gave the humans of the time a divine spell that would summon a hero from a world higher than heaven.

The humans took the spell and sacrificed the three angels to summon him.

He set off with three companions to defeat the demon king.

After he slayed the demon king, he gave his artifacts to his companions and vanished with the wind.

It was noted that his mana purity was silver.

The angels all have a white mana purity; even the seraphim, who stand at the top of the angels, have only a white purity.

For this human boy to have silver.

It must be some sort of trick

“Is it possible that he could be the reincarnation of the hero?”

Lilia Greene does raise a point.

His being a hero is the only reasonable solution.

The Demon King has been revived, so the timing would fit.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

He does have strange abilities, too.

That cut of his comes to mind.

It split my chimera right in half.

But there must be some sort of condition he needs to fill to use it, or else why didn’t he use it on my other summons or me?

  But she can’t be right.

The hero never had a technique like that.

Also, this boy is filled with too much emotion.

When the hero was first summoned, it's said he was emotionless.

He was a new existence, a blank slate.

Over the three Books of Yore, he becomes more human-like, and in the end, is brimming with warmth and kindness.

This boy is acting nothing like that.

“That could be so, Lilia. If he might be the hero, we should keep a close eye on him. Follis, can I ask you to watch him?”

  Why me?

“Oh, Mister Zard, please let me watch over him!”

  Nia Hall?

She only ever volunteers for anything if violence is involved.

  Oh my.

The look in her eyes is about a hundred times more terrifying than normal.

It's a look I never thought I would ever see on her.

“Nia, if I had you watch over him, I would fear for his safety. So please, Follis, can you watch him?”

As much as I want to say no, I can’t deny my boss.

  “As you wish.”

  Hallway.

  Almost late to class.

  DAMN IT.

  I can't be late.

I took too long getting dressed, and now I only have 5 minutes to get across campus.

  I have a solution, though!

I had this thought while watching the other students fight in the second exam.

At the time, I was pissed that I didn’t think of it during the first exam.

If I have a clear visual of the area.

  It worked!

What I just did is use to swap myself and the air in front of the main building.

And just like that im already at the building.

Now I need to get to our class.

Rei told me earlier what class and where, it's a history class on the east side of the third floor.

  Damn it, I'd better run.

Only three minutes before class starts.

No, not that room, or that one.

  There!

  Only one minute left.

And it doesn’t really matter because I can teleport now.

I make it to class with 59 seconds to spare.

Marin and Rei are situated high in the back left corner of the room.

I take my seat to the right of Marin.

Shes giving me a happy grin.

  I reciprocate.

A young man, but with grey hair, walks to a desk at the end of the room.

“I am your teacher, Professor Lyre. I don’t care what you call me, call me whatever you like.”

Wow, a teacher who doesn’t care about what people call him.

Thats how you really know you're in a different world.

“I'm going to start class each day with a question that will relate to what I'm going to teach that day. Todays question: Do any of you know what the hero’s name was?”

  I don’t know.

I'm missing a lot of standard knowledge about this world, especially when it comes to the hero of a thousand years ago.

I was pretty excited when I found out we were taking a history class because I thought it would fill in some gaps.

“No one? That makes sense. The hero’s name is something that is almost forgotten. Most modern copies of the book of yore don't mention his name. If you want his name, you would have to look in an extremely old textbook or speak to someone who already has.”

  Why was his name forgotten?

Maybe it's a story similar to the story about Jesus’s real name.

If you put one name through a thousand different translations, and at the end it's completely different.

“Twelve years ago, I graduated from this same academy as valedictorian. As a reward, I was granted one wish. At the same time, there was a rumor that the school had possession of the original Book of Yore. I asked for permission to read it, and in that book I found the true name of the hero. The name of the hero from a thousand years ago is Vendae Draterauq.”
