The name sends a shock to my system.
Vendae Draterauq.
That is the name of the hero from a thousand years ago.
Im not sure what to think.
In my hero title, it mentions something about the ‘evil of Vendae Draterauq.’
That implies that Vendae Draterauq is evil.
How could he be both a hero and evil?
And there is that skill.
Vendae Draterauq D%Hero F(1)=Vendae F(n)=F(n-1)+-1 n≥2
I still have no idea what this could mean.
It looks like this description can be broken down into two parts
Vendae Draterauq D%Hero | F(1)=Vendae F(n)=F(n-1)+-1 n≥2
Vendae Draterauq is D%Hero.
Vendae Draterauq is equivalent to the hero of a thousand years ago.
However, he is only D%.
I'm unsure as to what D means, but considering that it's not X, I can assume D might have more of a meaning than just an unknown value.
So, is Vendae Draterauq just a percentage of the hero?
Like a split personality?
Hold on a second.
Didn’t the angel say that this world was called Vendae?
“You may have noticed that the hero shares a name with the world we call home. Thats because our world was named after the hero.”
Well, that was convenient.
“This part of the hero’s journey is not very well known, but when he came to our world, he had knowledge of what lay beyond the heavens. The first thing he did was establish a religious order to give spiritual sanctuary and instill hope in the people. He sought out a powerful family that was unknowingly blessed by the sun. That was the Ilios family.”
Thats Rei’s family.
I had no idea his family had such a history.
He never really came off as the religious type.
He also never came off as the actually a guy type either, so maybe I'm the issue.
“The hero used his appraisal skill on every member in the family until he found the sun’s blessed. She had a special title called Heir To The Sun. He approached her, and she became his first party member and later the Pontifex of the Holy Sun Order.”

I never knew the religious situation in this world.
Is this religion still around?
If it were, wouldn’t Rei wear some priest robes rather than armor?
Maybe it works differently than the religions of Earth.
Also, isnt that Rei’s title?
Should I be calling him Saint Rei?
Father?
Daddy?
“Once the hero vanished with the wind after defeating the Demon King, the Holy Sun Order had named our once nameless world Vendae, in honor of the hero.”
Is this class going to be a history class over the last thousand years, or a history class over the story of the hero?
“Oh wow. Would you look at the time? Class ends in about twenty minutes, and I don't feel like teaching anymore.”
Professor Lyre sits down in a chair and starts staring out the window.
Really?
How did this guy become a teacher?
What kind of teacher lets the last twenty minutes of class go?
Again, maybe this really is a different world.
“Rei, I had no idea your family had that kind of history.”
“Oh yeah, I suppose you wouldn’t know. In our world, there are three big families. The Ilios family, the Silivius family, and the Cromwell family.”
Cromwell?
Like Alavander Cromwell?
The guy sitting in the back right corner of the room?
“The Ilios family has been running the Holy Sun Order for a thousand years. The Silivius family has been running pretty much half the world for just as long. And the Cromwell Family has been running this school the whole time as well. These three families are all descendants of the three people who traveled with the hero.”
This knowledge would have been nice to know about three weeks ago.
“There is a student here named Alavander Cromwell, he's a member of the Cromwell family. He is also my cousin. My aunt married his father.”
He does have that Blessed Of Fire And Water title.
If the Ilios family uses fire because of their connection to the sun, the Cromwell family must use water?
Maybe they have connections to the ocean?
After that, we had some chit chat, and eventually it was time to head to the next class.
Our next class is a combat class, run by Nia Hall.
I'm honestly terrified to head to her class.
Since she teaches combat, she doesn’t have a classroom; she still has an office, though.
For her class, we have to head to the training grounds behind the school.
“Ok, everybody. I want to get a grip on your combat strength. I'm going to pair you up into groups of two and watch you fight.”
How many people do we have in our class?
Oh, thank god, we have an even amount.
“You two, go fight.”
Shes pointing at me and-fuck.
Rei and I.
Can I not have an easy fight?
Well, at least I'm not being eaten alive by rabbits.
Rei and I move over to the arena and prepare to fight.
“Weapons are allowed; however, no killing. If you lose an eye or a leg, run or hop to the nurse’s office. There, you can get a Band-Aid or an ice pack. Yada-yada-yada, I'm obligated to say all this. Knock out the opponent or remove them from the arena to win. Begin the fight.”
Rei charges me instantly.
However, I'm able to teleport out of the way.
As I do, I send five Ice shots at him.
He blocks all of them because why not?
Using
We go blow for blow back and forth.
Trying to keep the other occupied with sword play while trying to finish the other with magic.
He creates a ten-meter wall of fire and pushes it at me.
To avoid the fire wall, I create a pillar of ice beneath me and leap over the wall.
Above her, I create a floor of ice a meter thick and as wide as the arena.
He's quick to react, and before the floor can hit him, he melts right through it.
All the ice melts in an instant.
It's like the sun itself is standing before me.
The heat just keeps climbing higher and higher.
The sword in my hand is nothing but evaporated water now.
Rei takes a swing of his sword, but before his sword or his flames could hit me, he's suddenly outside of the arena.
I had to use teleport on Rei.
I didn’t want to resort to a cheap trick like that on him, but there was no way I was going to win that.
I doubt an ice pack would be enough to fix the burns I would have after that.
“Rentaro Sasajima. Meet me in my office in five minutes.”
Oh no.
She never said that teleportation was off limits.
Is she mad because it's a cowardly way to fight?
I don't think I could beat her again if I had to.
Sitting in her office, I only have one thought.
‘When you kill me, please make it painless.’
Why is she staring at me like that?
The look in her eyes is different from how they were during the first test.
It's about a trillion times more frightening.
“Rentaro Sasajima. I want you.”
