Prologue not really

On the top of the edge.

young man1: “sigh” what the hell was that thing.

young man3: how the hell should i know, it was clearly an undead but enchanted arrows didn’t work on it, that’s just unfair.

young man2: was it really that unusual?

young man1&3: OF COURSE IT IS YOU IDIOT.

young man2: you don’t have to yell and don’t call me an idiot.

leader: to be clear undead are commonly known for being strong against physical attacks, but vulnerable to magic especially fire and light. So it’s common to enchant your weapon with your attribute when attacking or use special equipment against undead when fighting them.

young man2: but it didn’t seem to do much damage.

leader: that’s not quite true, I think that thing had some skill to reduce magic damage, but as you saw he had to drop it when do a special attack.

young man 1: was it magic?

leader: impossible undead’s intelligence is to low for that.

young man3: what about those that were mages in their lives? I have heard of undead necromancers.

leader: that’s different, high ranking mages did at one point try to surpass their limits by becoming undead but they got slaughtered by the church.

young man2; isn’t it possible he was one then.

  leader: impossible.

  young man 2: why?

leader: because we would have died in an instant if he was one.

young man1: are they really that dangerous?

leader: i don’t know the details but i’m pretty sure you need to advance the mage class at least 3 stages to use that spell, can you imagine how powerful spells a mage like that could cast, not to mention the combat experience needed to get that far.

young man1: true, although i could tell he was dangerous and i don’t think i could beat him on my own, his way of fighting was amateurish.

young man3: yeah i agree, although he seemed to fight with some kind of plan he didn’t try to turn it around either.

young man2: well he’s dead now either way, imagine that not wanting to give us experience he decided to end it himself.

Leader: no he is probably alive, and he escaped because of the sunrise pretty clever.

young man2: what he survived then should give chase.

leader: not unless you want to join the undead, that place is dense with miasma regular people without preparation would get sick, and with all the other undead there we wouldn’t stand a chance of returning. Let’s return and give a report.

the men rode back and reported the incident but afterwards they were sent away for incompetence.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

the light shone through the window at a sleeping boy.

boy: “yawn” so it’s morning i better get up then.

the boy got dressed in his common but well made clothes and went down for breakfast.

Greg: ah young master Marcus are you heading for breakfast.

Marcus: well since it’s morning and i haven’t eaten anything yet the answer would be yes to your question Greg.

Greg: you should learn to not be so snarky in the mornings and please call me Gregory.

Marcus: “rool eyes” does that ever get old for you.

Greg: this is why your etiquette skill doesn’t rise you know.

Marcus: yeah yeah, anyway is my father in a good mood.

Greg: don’t worry about him in fact he has a surprise for you.

Marcus: a surprise what is it.

  Greg: go and find out.

Marcus went inside the dining hall, and greeted his father and his wife together with his half brother before starting to eat. And when they were done his father spoke.

Father: Marcus show me your status.

  Marcus: yes father.

Marcus: are you serious father (smiles happily)

Greg: he is serious, but my lord please call me Gregory.

father: oh my apologies I’ll remember that for next time.

Greg: you always say that but you never do.

the males in the room were laughing at this old comedy routine.

Marcus and Greg rode through the woods together with four guards.

Marcus: so are undead really as terrifying as people say they are.

Greg: not really, sure they are tough to beat with regular weapons but with your magic it will be a simple, and don’t forget i can use a little fire magic as well.

Marcus: you really find every opportunity to brag don’t you.

Greg: guilty as charged. Anyway there’s a good resting spot ahead, let’s dismount and let the horses rest.

  Marcus: that’s a good idea.

when they reached the spot they dismounted.

Greg: haha you look so funny right now young master.

Marcus: shut up I’m not used to riding ok.

  Greg: you should practice more.

Marcus: if you convince my father to let me use the horses more often than I’ll practice more.

Greg: “sigh” I’ll try but don’t get your hopes up.

Marcus: (turns away) yeah I know but maybe after this expedition my father will start treat me like Er,,, ehhh wh,,, “cough”.

Marcus thoughts: a sword why is it in my chest (it was removed and he collapsed to the ground) what’s going on magic I’ll push light mana into the wound to save time for.

Greg: “Sigh” you really are stubborn but you really shouldn’t push yourself and just let go.

  Marcus: Greg, w,,why.

Greg: because you were future problems for the master.

  Marcus:?

Greg: well to put it simply your light attribute was going to make other nobles to want, that wouldn’t be a problem but you have the personality that makes you unable to serve others, which makes it possible for you to use your wedding as a bargaining tool to get control over the house, and unfortunately for you the master chose to prioritize his legal heir to you.

  Marcus: my,,,,father,,, ordered,,,,this. (Broken speech)

Greg: yeah but don’t worry about it, you’ll be remembered to have died in battle and probably even get a nice funeral, that’s more than most people get you know.

???: should I be happy about that.

Marcus: please,,, i don’t want. (He died.

in a bottom of a cliff where the sun didn’t reach lay a corpse.

Richard: screw them. A funeral that’s what a son gets from his parents for being more talented than his brother, screw that i wasn’t going to bother with his life but i changed my mind, ill kill them all. That useless father that does nothing but keep his head down. That bitch that looks down on everyone, that brother that always thinks he’s superior to me, and that dammed knight that would kill children with no regrets on his face, I’ll make sure he suffers before i kill him.
