The paladins that remained in the sewers were Brand and Victor. Brand had volunteered, as the deputy he felt it was something he ought to do. Victor had ended up with the short end of the stick. He grumbled to himself while rummaging through the gang's base.
"This is retarded. How did I get stuck with this bullshit task? Unlucky."
Brand turned to him, hearing his constant complaints. His calm expression changed slightly, his eyebrows furrowing the slightest bit.
"Just hurry up instead of complaining. That way we can get out here faster."
The two of them rummaged through trash, stolen goods, and personal belongings for a while. In the end they didn't find much, at least not anything important to them. The only clue they found was a paper, hidden with the leader's belongings off another corridor.
The paper had a drawing of what seemed to be a symbol with seven individual patterns inside it. It looked otherworldly to them, they had never seen anything like it. If Kaelon were here he would immediately notice how similar it looked to his divinity.
Back at the temple Kaelon and the rest of his squad were just now arriving. As they climbed up the stairs toward the temple Kaelon spotted Kane waiting at the top. He wore a smile on his face as he welcomed their return. The sun began to set as they all headed inside to make their reports.
Kaelon walked towards Elizabeth's office, his squad following behind him. He knocked on the door three times before an aged voice came from the other side.
"Come in."
Opening the door Kaelon led his squad inside, Kane followed behind them. Stopping before Elizabeth's desk, he bowed slightly before explaining his findings. He recounted their encounter with Ray, his use of They to refer to the seven sins. Elizabeth's eyes widened a little at his words.
"...You're sure he said 'They' and not 'they'?"
Kaelon nodded solemnly.
"I heard it myself, he definitely called the seven sins 'They'."
Elizabeth fell silent for a while, gathering her thoughts. Kaelon took her silence to continue the story. He explained his fight with the Grate Lord and recounted his story of the mysterious man who had come looking for him.
He was still telling the story when Brand and Victor returned from the sewers. They had left behind the useful items at the entrance of the temple, bringing with them only a piece of paper.
Knocks interrupted his retelling as they stepped inside. Brand came up to Kaelon and spoke, handing him the paper.
"Pardon the intrusion Kaelon, here. You will want to see this."
Kaelon looked down at the paper in his hands, his eyes wide. It was a Divinity, but it's structure was strange. It was made up of seven individual but incomplete and corrupt Divinities. Examining the symbols Kaelon frowned before placing the paper in front of Elizabeth.

The old woman's expression got darker as she examined the paper. This cult was not only led by demigods, an oracle worked for them. Maybe one of them was the oracle themselves. That would explain how they were never found, at least not until they were powerful enough to handle it.
She shook her head with a sigh before letting out a prayer.
"Oh Altan, it seems this era will be a tumultuous one. Please protect us from these creeping evils and let your divine light shine down on us, bringing us strength."
Her expression calmed as she prayed, painting a serene picture. Elizabeth's faith was truly powerful, there was a reson she was High Priestess. She turned to her attendant to her side, a serene expression on her face.
"Begin sending out letters to any high level force around. Inform them of this Sin Congregation and tell them to keep an eye out."
At her words, people began rushing about. Letters were drafted by her attendants and sent out by the hour. They were addressed to various people, nobles of surrounding territories, kings the church of Altan had good relations with, etc. Only one letter was written by Elizabeth personally, the one addressed to Vitalion, The Immortal.
She drew a copy of the seven deadly sins Divinity and tucked it into the letter. With that an attendant came to take the letter away for delivery. Turning to Kaelon and the slum squad Elizabeth nodded.
"You did well Kaelon, you guys as well. This information will save lives. You guys are dismissed, I'll call you if anything comes up. Go rest, you deserve it."
Smiles broke out among the paladins. Kaelon bowed again before leading his squad out of Elizabeth's office. Kane stayed behind, approaching Elizabeth's desk.
His slit eyes examined the paper on her desk, peering into the symbol. He was silent for a little before speaking up.
"You contacted The Immortal?"
Elizabeth nodded, her eyes sharp.
"Yeah, hopefully he makes a move this time. This is a lot more serious than the previous time we asked for his help. It isn't some monster wave we can't handle, this is a threat that could destroy our world as we know it."
With that Kane excused himself and headed into the training ground for Kaelon's training. The two clashed swords for a while, going harder than they usually did before sitting down to rest. After a few hours of this cycle, the two went their separate ways to their quarters.
Far away, in a place known only to few people, The Immortal sat in a cave. It had been a couple days since Kaelon fought the gang leader. Vitalion had been running experiments in this cave for years. He hadn't stepped outside in decades, focused solely on his medical research.
Suddenly he stopped his movements, turning to the cave entrance. There a ritual array began to light up. It was little Elizabeth's array, through which he made contact with the Altan chrurch. He had many such arrays in and around the cave. Each connected to a different person or organization, including his own Healers.
A letter appeared in the array, once the light dimmed he approached. Picking up the letter, he thought to himself.
'That little girl best have a reason for interrupting my research.'
As he read the letter Vitalion's expression was unchanged. He had lived through many such events in his long life. There was a reason they called him The Immortal, Vitalion had been around a very long time.
Putting the letter down after reading it, Vitalion looked out into the distance. The times were changing once again and the world was heading for another upheaval. The Gods would be more active than before. It seemed his century of relative peace had come to an end.
He could feel various divine presences that had previously been hidden. The Gods children were awakening their Divinities and new mortals rose to power. One side had pure divinities, the other had been tainted by curses and malice.
A clash that would decide this era's fate was gearing up to ravage the world. On one side heretical cultists that rose to power through sacrifice. On the other would be the children of the Gods. A slight smile emerged on Vitalion's lips.
'I guess I should move too. Can't let the Gods take all the fun.'
