At dusk, the miners rushed out of the tunnel like ants that had been scalded by boiling water, without even washing their faces, and dashed into the canteen building.
"You guys go eat, I'll head back to the dorm, if there's any trouble, just come find me."
Tang Dun frowned, a large crowd squeezed in front of the cafeteria, and after waiting for food to be served and eaten, he didn't know how much time would be wasted.
There is reserve food in the war space, Tang Dun prepares to go back and eat, and by the way, tell Homa about what happened today. As a great encyclopedia, Mo Dian may have a way to deal with this situation.
Building 6, Room 308, as dirty as ever, or rather, the whole building is in a similarly terrible environment.
Dongton took out the magic book from the cabinet.
"How's the miner doing?" Holma asked eagerly. "He's fine, no injuries, looks like you beat up someone else."
Danton chewed on his smoked ham and briefly introduced what had happened. "What should I do?" he asked.
"What you're doing is right. Those somewhat influential miners can't be trusted, because they are the ones who least want to change the status quo. You need to select not only from the lower-level miners but also young miners, and a large number of them." Mo Dian immediately gave an answer and led Tang Don to think, "Do you know why?"
"Are you trying to create competition among them? Make them feel that if they don't work hard and listen, their position will be insecure, and then motivate them to work harder for me?" Downton furrowed his brow, thought for a moment, and spoke out the reason he had come up with.
"Yes, let them keep a sense of crisis, feeling that without you, nothing can be done." Horma instructed, "So tell them, after a week, you will only take seven of them as confidants."
"How about giving some more gold coins as a reward?" Tang Dun smiled, "Anyway, we're not short of money."
"Alright." Mo Tian nodded in agreement, "Your idea isn't bad. One person is easily killed, but if you form a massive miner force, even the Guardian Captain would have to think twice before trying to take you down, considering the consequences they'd have to bear."
"Have you done this before? You seem quite skilled!" Tang Don asked curiously.
"Brothers will be more skilled." Holma didn't answer directly, "Tomorrow, or the day after at the latest, the big worker will definitely find trouble for you. You just need to hold on, and your position among the miners will become even more stable."
"I understand." Tongdon changed the subject, "Do you know about the Brotherhood? I've heard it's one of the most mysterious organizations on the continent, claiming to have members in every small town?"
The Brotherhood preaches that all things are equal, and that all men are brothers. They resist the existence of classes, resisting the nobles and rich merchants. They represent the interests of the common people, and therefore have attracted a large number of members.
"It's just a mob organization." Mo Dian was clearly disdainful of the Brotherhood, "Don't ask, as long as you're famous, they'll find you soon, those guys are everywhere."
Tang Dun nodded and looked around at the messy room, deciding to clean it up, otherwise it would be impossible to live in.
"I'm telling you, the big-breasted dancers at the Golden Goose Inn in Western City are amazing! Their chests are bigger than their heads!" Nelson said, bragging to his coworkers while picking his teeth. "A night with them costs 100 gold coins."
"One hundred gold coins is also a lot, you country bumpkin, Wang Dou's social flower, it's said that just touching one, would cost over a thousand gold coins." The colleagues teased Nelson, bringing out a burst of loud laughter.
"Ah, wrong way!" Nelson walked into room 308 and saw the floor and furniture spotless, dirty clothes piled in a wooden basin. He unconsciously backed out and took a few more steps forward before realizing, "No, this is our dormitory!"
A group of miners stood frozen in front of the dormitory, as if they had just seen a prehistoric giant beast being brutally ravaged by a filthy goblin.
"New here?" Nelson squeezed into the dormitory, scratched his hair and looked at Danton who was sitting on the bed, flipping through a book.
"Hmm!" Tanton took a look at Nelson's proud demeanor and the occasional glances from others, guessing that he was probably the dormitory's leader.
"Good boy, you're quite sensible! Oh, ham, I love it!"
Nelson, wearing a work uniform covered in mine dust, sat directly on Downton's bed and picked up the ham beside him to eat.
"Give me one more, the food in the cafeteria is really bad, I'm still hungry."
"I'll definitely find an opportunity to blow those chefs' brains out someday."
The workers all crowded in, abusing and cursing loudly, without even asking Tang Don's meaning, and in the scramble for the ham, they got the bed sheets all over handprints and footprints.
"Hey, kid, is that all you've got? Bring it out." Nielson was a giant of a man, strong and muscular, who had gathered around sixty miners, also a foreman.
"It's gone." Tang Don said coldly.
"Haha, it seems you still don't understand your situation!" Nelson clenched his fist and playfully looked at Downton, "Don't worry, under my guidance, in just three days, you'll learn how to survive in the dagger mine."
"What's the point of talking to him? Which cabinet is his, just pry it open." A miner with scars on his face was relatively rough, stuffing ham into his mouth while urging.
"Are you ready to beat me up?" Tang Don was not surprised at all, let alone the fact that he had arranged himself to be taken in, it was just to make people take him in, just by looking at the three empty beds, he knew that these miners were absolutely not good things.
The big foremen would not live with the lower-level miners, they all lived in the foreman building. These small foremen did not have that treatment, but there was a flexible way to deal with it, which was to intimidate new roommates and make them leave voluntarily, so there were fewer people and the living environment was not crowded.
Tang Don looked at the empty beds and knew the cruelty of the dormitory elder, like Cook, who occupied a room alone.
"Hit someone? You're too full of yourself." Nielson jeered, and the other miners burst into loud laughter.
Hitting people is the most inefficient way; they have many means to repair the collapse of Tongtong.
"Now that you've cleaned the dormitory, why don't you wash everyone's dirty clothes too?" Nelson tossed his work uniform at Downton.
Tang Dun's body swayed to one side and dodged.
"Hey, pretty arrogant!" Nelson deliberately flexed his muscles, showing off his robust physique to Downton, "What are you waiting for? Take your clothes off."
"Hey kid, I see you've got pretty tender skin. Want big brother to take care of you?" A gay guy had his eyes on Tangdon, staring at his crotch.
A group of miners burst out laughing and began stripping off their clothes, tossing them onto Tandon's bed.
"Hands off the cupboard." Nelson growled at Scarface, not sticking up for Downton but having already claimed its contents as his own and intending to wait until the other miners had gone before taking them out to eat.
The scar-faced miner grumbled, but understood and took it out. It's probably not enough for a few bites, these people are all from the same hometown, if they ask for it, it's hard to refuse.
Danton had intended to remain silent, but seeing these guys occasionally glance at him, he suddenly stood up, gathered his dirty clothes, put them in a wooden basin and took them to the water room.
"Phooey! I thought I'd finally met a tough guy, but it turns out you're just another softie." The scar-faced miner spat a wad of phlegm onto Tanton's bedspread.
"Never mind him, come on, let's play cards!" A miner pulled out a deck of King Poker and started the routine of gambling for fun.
The work in the mine is hard and laborious, and there are no other recreational activities. The miners can only play cards and gamble. Of course, those weak-willed miners are almost always the targets of extortion.
"When that kid comes back, let him play and win all his money." A miner had a wicked idea.
"What if he doesn't want to play?"
"Isn't he going to play? Does what he says count?" Nelson's words sparked off another string of jeers, indeed, the new miner was the target of bullying.
If it were an adult man, they might have restrained themselves a bit, but the other party was just a fifteen-year-old boy, and not teaching him a lesson would be a waste of this opportunity.
"You guys go ahead and play, I'm going to take a leak." The gay miner scratched his belly and was about to walk out when Nelson grabbed him.
"Don't waste it, go pee on the bed!"
A dozen or so miners saw Nelson pointing at Danton's blanket and burst out laughing.
"I'm coming too, let the kid have some fun!"
A few miners who liked collecting other people's things stood in front of Tong Dun's bed, took off their pants, and shot towards the quilt, wetting a large area.
"Awesome!" Gaylord let out a burp, beautiful bubbles.
"Hurry up, don't let him see," Nelson urged, wanting to see Downton sitting on the urine-soaked unlucky seat without noticing.
Tang Don walked into the dormitory and immediately felt that something was off. All the miners were lowering their heads, and a few of them couldn't help but cover their mouths and burst out laughing.
As a Magician, Tang Don's sense of smell was better than ordinary people, and he immediately smelled a strong urine odor, which made him frown involuntarily. His gaze then shifted to the bedding, where he saw those urine stains.
Dantong's fist clenched immediately, although the quilt had been covered for several years and was already old, but it was sewn by his mother with her own hands, so even after he got rich, he didn't replace it.
"What's wrong? Sit down, don't stand." The gay miner jeered, reaching out to grab the back of Tong Dun's head and pressing him onto the bed. "This is everyone's gift to you, don't be polite, just sit!"
"You bunch of trash!"
A livid vein stood out on Tanton's forehead.
"What did you say? You're asking for a beating!" The scar-faced miner walked over, hand out to push Tanton, but his stance remained upright and unmoving.
"Whoa, quite arrogant, huh? I was going to give you a lesson and that's it, but I didn't expect you to be so ungrateful. Who has urine left?" Nelson kicked the chamber pot out from under the bed and glared at Downton, "Pee here, let him drink!"
Some miners immediately dropped their pants, and other miners from the dormitory, as well as those who had just returned to the corridor from the cafeteria, heard the commotion and gathered around, laughing and watching Tang Don.
