The Problematic organ didn't seem to be able to exist outside of a human body, The Core found out after a few rounds of experiments.
Even if put into a similar one, such as Fearless Monster Monkeys, it still didn't work and it couldn't even kill the monsters quickly like it did with the Human.
Instead it slowly pushed the mana away from the body, resulting in a particularly painful death. And then it disintegrated!
Which was contrary to what it did in a human dead body, where it didn't decay. The Core found that out after staring at a human corpse for a prolonged amount of time. The Core wasn't sure for how long but it did make about 5 more monsters with the Problematic Organ for comparison in that time and they all managed to die and for the organ to decay completely.
When outside an organic body it immediately started to violently decay, resulting in loss of nearby plant life, and rocks when it tried to do it on the first floor. Also a Mute Bat.
The Core ran out of ideas for how to handle it just as the patiently awaited for group of invaders arrived.
"This is the place" A human said while on the verge of entering its dungeon, right where it could sense it but wouldn't agitate its monsters.
The invader seemed to concentrate on something, probably the voice that The Core currently couldn't hear as the sapient making it was outside of its boundary.
"You may go" The Invader added, after finishing hearing out the voice.
Once the invader entered the dungeon proper, the monsters immediately attacked. And were dealt with cleanly and quickly.
This worried The Core, the Invader seemed to be stronger than the last one by a large margin and it wasn't sure of it's victory as it was with the last one.
Then the rest of its party entered the dungeon, and The Core was even more worried as there were only 3 of them.
Even if it killed them all it still wouldn't be enough for it to advance! Aren't adventure parties supposed to contain at least 5 members?
"There seems to be a new type of energy here" The one that entered last spoke.
"New energy? Are you sure? " The second one asked.
"This one knows what she is doing and this energy is neither gu nor resentment" The Last replied with a huff.
"That's a problem" The first one spoke again.
"We should ask the owner about this" The Crazy one who doesn't know what mana is but can name 2 other types of energies that were never mentioned in the manual, said.
This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.
"And if The Beast tamer won't talk?" The second one asked, seemingly worried.
"We'll do it the usual way" The First one spoke and started walking forward, slowly, as if they had all the time in the world.
And with that they departed deeper into the dungeon.
The Core summoned another Mute Bat into the first floor, confirming that it wasn't restricted to the rules that accompanied dealing with believers.
It wondered about the other two types of energies, and then remembered the human blueprint.
It kept dismissing the strange energy within it as a mistake of some kind but maybe the human really was powered by something different?
It didn't know what Gu or Resentment were but it hoped that when the invaders were killed, it would find out.
It observed them as they slowly made way to the second floor, very slowly, disgustingly slowly.
None of them seemed to realise that time was precious, instead wasting it on looking around and minimising movement to the best of their abilities.
The First one, the one who murdered the first floor monsters in a single heartbeat, was also taking their time, not displaying any of the speed they showed before.
This irritated The Core, although it didn't know why as more time to prepare was always a good thing.
It started analysing the humans to come up with a better strategy to kill them. Usually that wasn't an option as it couldn't control it's dungeon when Invaders were inside, but these ones came from a Godless settlement so it didn't have to worry about that.
The First One had a sword to the side that it hadn't used in the first floor, instead preferring it's hands. Judging from its first performance quick bursts of movement were its fighting style.
The Second One didn't have a weapon of any kind visible on their person but there were needles hidden in its sleeve that were coated in some kind of poison that The Core would need to analyse when it died.
The Crazy One, who might not be crazy after all but that was to be determined post-mortem, also had a sword.
They passed the first floor after a while, taking much longer than the Swordsman. At least one of them was stronger than him and showed greater speed, even if for a moment. This rankled The Core as it meant that they were choosing to do this the slow way.
The Core wondered how they managed to get to it's Dungeon so fast when they traversed at such a slow pace in an area that was devoid of danger.
The Overgrown worms of the second floor were dealt with similarly by the First One, the other two not even lifting a finger.
The Crazy One stoped near one of the Kiselina Shrooms, activating them and sending a cloud of spores towards it.
They failed to reach it however as a barrier not made out of mana appeared around him, blocking the attempt.
So that confirmed that there really is a new type of energy it didn't know about. It wondered why that was never mentioned but decided to focus on the invaders for now.
"I've never seen this species of mushrooms before! " They said, squatting down to one of them and plucking it out to store them in its spatial ring.
"There's a lot of them here, this lowly one can help you collect them" The Second One said.
"There's a chest ahead" The First One proclaimed, even though it was behind a dirt wall so it shouldn't have seen the chest, maybe they were using the unknown energy to sense it? If they had it and it could be used in that way, what other ways were there?
"A chest? Are you sure?" The Second One asked.
"I know what a chest looks like " The First One shot a glare at the inquirer and added "It's guarded by a gigantic beetle, one I haven't seen before".
They hadn't seen an Armoured Beetle? But it's quite common? The Core got even more confused, was this place so far out that the manual didn't cover it?
That would explain why there were two different energy sources and why invaders dressed in a different way.
