Chapter 14: Continuing Experiments

Looking at the residuals from its previous experiments on floor 8th The Core felt a new surge of creativity.

With the discovery of Qi and its differences to Mana it was certain it could make more progress. Although that progress would have been guaranteed had it had the invaders qi-filled corpse, having a new blueprint also allowed for more discoveries, even if in a different direction.

It cleared away everything so that the floor was as it was before the consecutive tests.

It summoned the new human exactly the way the blueprint wanted it to and it died like the old one. Shaking and foaming at the mouth albeit more violently and quickly.

Staring at the body it wondered once more about the differences between the two energies.

It didn't consider Mana rigid before but starting at the result of forcing it into a shape that Qi was, presumably, taking on its own, made it reconsider that stance.

It reabsorbed the corpse and then recreated it along with the first human blueprint to make a more accurate comparison between the two designs.

The newer Blueprint's human did, indeed, die with more volatility.

Was the second blueprint more unstable? It didn't look more incomplete than the other and when The Only One was still alive it didn't look like his energy circulation system was off. Although that may be because The Core cannot sense Qi. If his circulation off could it be the reason for his smaller than normal lifeforce?

After a moment spent in thoughts, The Core decided there was no need to ponder the matter further since the definite answer was impossible for it to get when it had a major blind spot when it came down to foreign energy, that it was now consistently dealing with, so it switched back to experimenting.

The difference between the thickness of the problematic organ didn't seem to matter much in this instance but maybe in others it could gain some insight based on the divergences?

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

It created both The Thicker Problematic Organ along with The First Problematic Organ and began to observe.

They both began to decay but while The Problematic Organ Version 1 did so quickly and violently, The Problematic Organ Version 2 didn't finish decaying before it got destroyed by the blast from the first death.

The Core paused at that and summoned only the second version of the organ.

Its decay, now unobstructed, was visibly slower and less volatile than the first version. To the point that the decline itself was only visible thanks to The Core's exceptional mana sensitivity.

What could be causing such a massive difference? Only the Width?

The Core left the organ where it was and summoned a modified version of the first problematic organ far away from the slowly decaying one.

The modification being that the outer skin was as thick as in the second version.

It decayed as violently as previously seen.

If the width wasn't the cause of the big difference in reactions, then what was?

The Core brought up the blueprints again and decided to closely examine them. It didn't do so before as it was too surprised at the fact that it got a second blueprint so what it did back then was cast a brief glance that revealed only the most obvious differences.

Looking closer on the second blueprint there seemed to be way more energy circulation veins. In fact the Energy Circulation System as a whole seemed to be expanded, stretching even into the Problematic Organ, when in the first blueprint it only connected it to the body.

How had it not been noticed before? Surely with how closely it looked at the problematic organ previously something this big would have come into its attention? Then again, it was but a brief glance and the vessels were small.

It looked at the previous human blueprint for more comparison, this time even more closely. If it could miss something so obvious then what else went unnoticed?

Under The Core's watchfulness The First Human Blueprint seemed a little more detailed than what it previously thought but it dismissed it as it just paying more attention and decided it didn't miss anything crucial then switched to the other human design.

Aside from the differences in the Energy Circulation System the Blood Circulation System was also different but this time The Core wasn't as worried about missing this since it wasn't paying attention to that part of the body.

Although the Blood vessels were almost directly opposite of the Energy veins, they seemed almost underdeveloped in some places, namely the area next to the guts and the upper thighs, while in others looked similar to the previous blueprint, albeit still worse.

The Core didn't know why but assumed it was simply the minutiae distinctions between same species individuals and decided that it learned everything already from the blueprints and thus it was time to continue its tests.
