Chapter 87: Caught.
(Maralia’s POV)
Kerstan: “You just interfered with the game!” He exclaimed, slamming the desk.
Maralia: “I did, yes. But that was needed. If Velma finished that sentence…” My words were cut off.
Kerstan: “Then what? You didn’t lose your job… so perhaps this was okay. But I still want answers!” He said with a serious tone.
Maralia: “Celia would have died.” I answer.
Everyone: “…”
Silence filled the room, and I expected this outcome. Only those close to someone… can see the state of one’s soul. Celia’s soul was stained beyond repair, but only a few knew of this.
There exists methods to undo these stains, or at least lessen them a lot. Both all of them break countless universal laws. In truth, I am selfishly happy that Faith is willing to get so much blood on her hands… It makes me certain that Faith truly loves Celia.
Kerstan: “Explain, please.” He asked with a curious tone.
Maralia: “Celia’s soul is stained intensely.” I replied.
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
Kerstan: “How bad?” He replied with his arms crossed.
Maralia: “The last time that I checked… Celia only had 10,000 years left to live. But now… less than 7,000 years, is what we expect now.” I answered with an upset tone.
Kerstan: “…Can nothing be done? And… was this her choice?” He asked.
Maralia: “Her choice? I guess that it was, but she didn’t understand what the outcome would be. Celia was too young, and gained too much power, and far too fast at that. The stains on her soul must be cleansed, or she cannot reincarnate ever again.” I explain with a grim tone.
These words hurt to say… After all, regardless of how much Faith loves Celia, we have no idea if she will actually go through with any method that could save our wife.
Faith, unbeknownst to Celia, now regularly shows us the progress of the stains on Celia’s soul. Only the woman herself is unaware of those stains, with her friends and family being in the know.
Sava: “I’ll give up my life, so that she can live the full life that she deserves. As her mother, and as thanks for what she will do for me, it is the least that I can do.” She said with a serious tone.
Sava’s words rang in my head… That was what she replied when I informed her of the state of Celia’s soul. If Faith is a dead-end, then Sava is still an option that we can take. The problem… is that Celia might relapse and die. Realizing that one of her family members sacrificed herself for her…
Kerstan: “She is so young, though… Maralia, you and her family have my condolences. If she really is able to stop this game, to give it the death that it wishes for, I will make sure to ingrain her name and story in every universe and dimension possible.” He swore with a serious tone.
Maralia: “Thank you… I’d appreciate that greatly.” I reply with a weak smile.
All this talk of Celia dying… is making me upset. Either way, I protected her this time, and I have to make sure that Celia never hears about her fate in the future. At least… not until it is close to her end. Celia…
