Chapter 60: The Black-Clad Swordsman

  Chapter 60: The Bck-Cd Swordsman

  "Boom!!"

A beam of white light desded like a meteor, crashing into the wolf pack. The sudden attack caused the wolves to falter, as a powerful shockwave swept across the battlefield. Several bck wolves, directly struck by the white light, were blown into the air, howling in agony before crashing heavily into the midst of the pack.

The bodies that had withstood arrows and spears without a scratow seemed as fragile as part. Even before they hit the ground, the sword energy that exploded outward had torn them into pieces, leaving only a bloody mist.

This sudden se left both the wolves and the soldiers on the walls stuhey all turo look at the source of the light. To their astonishment, they saw a young man dressed in bck slowly rising from the light.

His right hand gripped a longsword that radiated pure light, which he pointed directly at the wolf pack. His entire demeanor was as resolute as a sharp bde.

In front of this young man, the wolves hesitated for a sed before r in fury and turning to charge at the intruder. The bloodlust had awakeheir primal instincts, and this human who attacked them had now bee the target they had to destroy.

  But so what?

Alex raised his head, looking at the approag wolves. For an ordinary person, the sight of over a hundred bck wolves charging at them might be enough to make them wet their pants. But for Alex, who had anded an army of Zerg, these mere hundred or so bck wolves were nothing.

As the wolves charged, Alex simply tightened his grip on the Broken Sky Sword and swung it forward.

A dazzling light densed into a silver line, slig through the air. Several cross-shaped holy symbols appeared in front of the bck wolves, and then they exploded!

  "Boom! Boom! Boom!!"

A series of explosions caught the charging bck wolves off guard. Their tough hides, which could shrug off iron swords and arrows, were no match for the powerful and holy light.

Not to mention, Alex's power had retly risen from E to D. Killing a bear with a single punch was no joke!

Uhe Crusader's strike, the vanguard of the bck wolves crumbled as if they had run headlong into an invisible wall. Alex, not pausing after his successful strike, fixed his gaze on the remaining wolves, raised his longsword, and swung again!

As he lifted his sword, the Broken Sky Sword in his hand began to tremble slightly. When Alex sshed forward, the holy light attached to the bde split into several bands of light, fanning out and shredding the bck wolves that couldn't evade in time.

They were torn into bloody pieces.

  "Awooo!!"

Seeing the severe losses among its pack, the alpha wolf on the hill howled once more. Hearing its call, the advang wolf pack suddenly halted. Then, two groups of bck wolves split off to the left and right, fnking Alex from both sides.

The wolves moved with incredible speed. Before Alex could withdraw his sword, they had already encircled him pletely!

  "Watch out!!"

Seeing this, Crk and the others felt their hearts leap into their throats. They hadn't expected the bck wolves to be so ing. Now, the young man was pletely surrounded.

Even if he had three heads and six arms, he would be hard-pressed to fend off attacks from all dires. Especially sihe leading bck wolves had already opeheir mouths, dark energy swirling within, ready to unleash their chaos-infused fmes...

But to Alex, this was no big deal.

He could feel the thick, chaotic magic gathering in the air. Magical beasts were called such because they could manipute this power. Earlier, Alex's swift attack had caught them off guard, but now, the wolves had clearly figured out how to deal with their prey.

  Yet Alex wasn’t without options.

The bck wolves had already closed in within five yards of him. They bared their fangs, and sparks began to spew from their mouths and noses. Given a bit more time, they would unleash their fmes and pletely ie their target.

From the soldiers' perspective, they saw the young man standing still. Then, he flipped his sword and thrust it into the ground.

  The moment, a miracle occurred.

Suddenly, a brilliant holy light erupted from the ground around Alex, as if breaking free from the earth itself. The bck wolves that ehe range of the holy light immediately screamed in agony.

Their massive, dark bodies began to burn, engulfed by the relentless white fmes that spread and ed them.

At that moment, the wolf pack finally halted. They let out terrified cries, instinctively bag away from the area infused with holy power. Despite being magical beasts tainted by chaotiergy, they were still animals.

Although they could breathe fire, it didn't mean they were immuo fmes—especially not fmes imbued with divine power.

  "Awooo... Awooo!!"

Seeing this, the alpha wolf finally showed signs of u paervously on the hillside before seeming to make a decision and howled once more. Upon hearing its howl, the bck wolves, which had been uled by the holy fmes, quickly regaiheir posure.

They began regrouping and, once again, charged forward recklessly.

  "You 't take them head-on!!"

Watg the se unfold, Crk frowned and shouted loudly at the young man below. "The bck wolves won't retreat unless you kill the alpha wolf. They'll fight to the death!"

  The alpha wolf.

Hearing Crk's shout, Alex frowned slightly. He quickly lifted his head, sing the area. It didn't take long for him to loto the massive shadow on the hillside behind the pack.

The alpha wolf, sensing Alex's attention, immediately turs head, its red eyes gring at him with a mix of madness and fury.

Although to Alex, these bck wolves were merely fodder, anything that could save time was worth sidering. With this thought, Alex's lips curled into a faint smile. It was about time to test that move.

Gripping his longsword tightly, Alex prepared himself.

Crk couldn't uand what he was seeing. He watched as the young man raised his sword, appearing to make a charging motion toward the wolves. But before the sword could swing down, the moment, the young man suddenly vanished from sight.

Crk didn't even know how Alex disappeared. It felt as if he had just blinked, and the young man who had been standing there was suddenly gone. He rubbed his eyes, sing the area again, and finally found Alex's figure.

He was now standing motionless behind the massive alpha wolf.

  How did that young mahere?

  "Swish—"

The Skybreaker Sword sliced through the air, a spray of blood following its path. Alex g the alpha wolf beside him, thehed his sword.

  "Click."

As the longsword slid into its scabbard, the alpha wolf finally reacted. Its head tilted slightly before falling with a "thud" to the ground. Blood gushed from its neck, staining the white snow red. The body of the alpha wolf then slumped over, lifeless.

  What just happened?

Crk's eyes widened in disbelief. He couldn't prehend what he had just withe alpha wolf had been killed so easily? Wait, what about the rest of the wolves?

With that thought, Crk quickly turned his head toward the wolf paear the walls. To his astonishment, he found that the bck wolves were standing still, like statues.

They seemed to have been frozen by the cold wind, turned into icy sculptures, or perhaps suspended in time, pletely immobilized.

Then, time began to flow again.

tless brilliant bdes of light suddenly bloomed like lotuses, pletely engulfing the dark beasts.
