The Weekend Part II

The two tennis courts sat side by side; they were both the same classic green color. These two courts at the end of the path had been there well before Mary bought the house; they were probably added in the 1970s by the previous owner. Luckily for Mary, she loved tennis a lot. “Ace!” Mary Shouted and pumped her fist in the air as she flawlessly landed a successful hit against her trainer, Lawrence. Lawrance was an Italian who was quite tall and good-looking, at least to Jack. Jack entered the tennis courts to his mother at the side of the tennis court benches, decked out in sports training gear, and beside her was June, as usual puffing a cigarette and then coughing her terrible smoker's cough. Jac guessed that despite her also being ins sport gear, she had not been training alongside his mother. She was clearly ogling Lawrance from afar as she started to do some stretches. Jack walked up to his mother and said, “Good morning, Mom.” She smiled back, “Good morning, Jackie. How was your hangout last night?”

Jack smiled, “It was pretty good, Adam and I hung out for a while, and Levon drove him home.” Mary nodded and patted him on the shoulder; I am glad you are making... I know it's not easy for you. When I was in high school, I was pretty popular. I know you aren't the same, and that’s okay.” Jack knew that his mother was being a bit humble. “Pretty popular” wasn't the half of it. In high school, his other was a star, extremely popular, and a star player in Volleyball, tennis, basketball, softball, and even was the first girl in her school to play on the baseball team. Jack, on the other hand, was... none of these things. She smiled and brushed his hair, “You are more like your father, and that’s good.” Jack wasn’t so sure that was an amazing thing, considering what Ulysses Jackson McCoy II did to them all those years ago. Jack replied to her sheepishly, “Yeah, sure mom” Mary replied and clasped him on the shoulder, “It’s just good to see you making friends already.”

It was then that Mary realized she needed to tell her son something. “Oh, by the way, next week we are going to a charity fundraiser next week at the Cartright estate, you will need to bring some kind of date.” Jack sighed audibly, he knew this kind of thing would come up eventually. Mary replied, “Yeah, I know you are not ready for any real dates, but if this isn't a real date, just find a girl you are friends with and ask her to come, it will be a fun time.” Jack sighed, “well I guess so.” Mary replied, “You can ask that girl you know... um.... Cassidy.... Du... Du...” Jack replied, “Du Bois.” “Yeah, yeah, that one you could ask her,” June snickered. “Oh, a Jew and a black girl, you are really getting all the politically correct Hollywood friends already.” Mary rolled her eyes at her best friend's very dumb comment and ignored her. “What could be the harm in asking her?” Jack sighed and thought about it, Cassidy already knows he is gay so asking her to be his date wouldn't be too weird “Yeah sure, I think I can do that, after all it is for charity” Mary smiled “Good that’s the spirt” June than looked over at Lawrence as he was bending over doing stretches “Can I take your tennis coach?” Mary replied, “No, you can't take the tennis coach.” Jack rolled his eyes and said under his breath, “Always looking for ex-husband four.” June squinted her eyes slightly at Jack, and Jack rolled his eyes. “Well, I’m gonna get back to the house, see you later.”

Jack then started to go up the path back to the house; he was thinking about how he would ask Cassidy about this when he got back to school on Monday. It was then that his phone buzzed, and he pulled his phone out of his pocket and looked at it. It was the same number as before, with the same text as before, asking Jack to call them. Jack ignored it again and went back to his room to play video games. He flopped himself down on the couch and started playing Assassin’s Creed Revelations. He had been on a roll recently and really looked forward to how Ezio’s story would end. Soon, the opening cold snowy level of the game started to load. After a few hours of playing the game, his phone buzzed again and again; someone was calling him. He sighed and paused the game and answered his phone “Yello” “A sharp British voice came at the other end “Hello pretty boy I hope your weekend has been okay” Jack’s eyes popped a bit he knew who this was “Oh hello James, I am okay” Jame replied “I trust that nothing happened between you and Adam, I would hate for your pretty face to wind up at the end of a swirly” Jack sighed “No ... nothing happened ...” James laughed “I bet you wish it did, you probably fantasized about it, I bet you even had a naughty dream about Adam” Jack blushed and paused for a moment, James was right, it was scary how much he could get in his head, he replied in the only way he could “Um... shut up!” James laughed “Oh yes “shut up” the words of an immature boy, don’t worry you won't have to worry about anymore naughty words because the boy will me mine soon” Jack gulped “Well fine, I didn't..... want him anyway” James started to laugh “Oh Jack you are such a bad liar, anyway I hope you find a date for the upcoming fundraiser, don’t worry I will be with a beard as well” Jack did a double take “Hey... how do you know about that?” James laughed, “All in good time, anyway toodaloo pretty boy.” It was then that the phone hung up. Jack put the phone down and sighed, “This could be a problem.”
