The Core couldn't help but feel as if stagnation was in its dungeon once again.
No matter what it did, the result was the same and no Invaders came.
It knew that more would come eventually, sapients were very keen on revenge even when it was not needed, but it couldn't help but worry about the inaccuracy of the manual.
With something resembling dread it glanced at the Foliage Shaper, should it risk it?
The Core knew that she would likely eat more Qi later on and thus it would be able to use it for experiments and waiting for evolution was risky in and of itself but it was afraid that this opportunity would just... come.
That the amount of Qi the Foliage Shaper has will not increase because no more delvers descend into its depths.
After a moment it dismissed such thoughts, of course more invaders will come, it was a dungeon with so much to offer!
It rechecked what treasures it had and even improved them anyway.
It glanced at its entrance even though it knew that nobody was there and stifled whatever anxiety it still had left, it still could figure out more on what it currently had, it was sure it just needed a little more time.
And then something entered its dungeon and its consciousness returned to its first floor.
It was a simple animal, nothing noteworthy.
A Vampiric Squirrel, which the Core already had but decided against incorporating into its dungeon.
It was currently rethinking this as more invaders would surely come so more defenders would be needed.
Maybe it could add it to its 4th floor?
It would fit the theme and another harasser to aid the Nature Deer would be nice.
When The Core broke off its thoughts the animal was already dead.
No matter how weak its first floor monsters were, they were still monsters and could easily deal with mana-enchanted animals.

It absorbed the corpse, glanced briefly through its memories, and didn't find anything out of the norm, except maybe the camp that the squirrel saw near its dungeon.
Were more invaders preparing a raid?
The first emotion it felt at that was nonetheless joy before it started wondering if it could survive this invasion.
The Core wasn't confident that they knew not to destroy a core to collect more resources, benefiting them both.
There were just too many divergences between what the manual said and what was actually happening.
So it decided to revise its current dungeon plan, being better prepared would never hurt and if it felt that they might decide it is too dangerous to be kept alive it can just order its monsters not to attack.
After all, if It could do that now why not take advantage?
Not wasting any time it decided to summon a couple of Vampiric Squirrel's on its 4th floor.
They immediately made themselves at home, as every dungeon monster did, exploring the floor with no order coming from above to hold them in place.
The Core then started looking through every monster that was available to it, to see which could be added and which should be reserved for later floors.
It immediately rejected the humans, since they were as of now, useless outside of experimentation. And even then they weren't giving much results.
The Core proceeded to ignore the fact that it was blaming ingredients for failing to give clues to the researcher.
It decided that the first floor was good enough, just in case they possessed common sense, or rather the information it knew.
Although The Core couldn't help but doubt that.
The Second floor was given a couple of Digger Worms, those were better at maneuvering in the air so should be better at attacking.
The Third floor was given more harmless fishes, to help disguise the Vampiric ones. It also made the water less clear and the pond floor more uneven, digging a few holes here and there.
When The Core got to the fourth floor it realised it never created another Nature Deer after the previous one died in her fight against the second invader so it did so now, aside from that it added more tripping hazards in the forms of roots, uneven ground, rocks and the like.
The Fifth Floor was perfect as it was but it revitalised the trees as they were being sucked dry by its sole inhabitant, The Core never realised how much food a creature required as its monsters never needed to be fed before.
And then it realised that the door leading to the sixth floor was already open, under the vines hiding it.
The Core looked at the mechanism related to it, to see what was causing such a grave error and what answer it found didn't shock it as much as it frustrated it.
The Foliage Shaper no longer counted as a monster of its dungeon therefore the mechanisms took it as if she were dead and automatically opened the door.
Which was ridiculous because no matter the change all of its monsters were still .
Nonetheless it couldn't make the inanimate runes aware of that fact so instead it changed it to be opened after 10 minutes of somebody entering.
After 10 minutes passed it had to change the instructions again, for The Foliage Shaper was counted as that 'somebody entering', to somebody who The Foliage Shaper entering.
The Core couldn't understand how a minutiae change in one of its monsters biology could lead to such ramifications.
